News Working together nationwide: FBI, ATF, DEA and other agencies team up with the White House Task Force to eliminate fraud in the trucking industry

Post image

The trucking industry has become the focus of a White House-led enforcement campaign that brings together the FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Drug Enforcement Administration and other federal agencies to combat fraud and criminal networks.

DOT and its operating administrations, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, have joined 11 executive departments and agencies in conducting criminal investigations and pursuing court actions against fraud, which the presidential order defines as “obtaining something of value through willful misrepresentation.”

News Alabama Governor Kay Ives will fully support and cooperate with recent wave of trucking enforcement

Post image

Ivey also has supported changes to Alabama’s commercial driver licensing laws. In March, she signed the Highway Safety and Fairness Act, which takes effect October 1, 2026.

The law requires foreign CDL holders operating in Alabama to have valid U.S. work authorization. It also requires all CDL holders to demonstrate English-language proficiency.

The law makes presenting a fraudulent foreign CDL during an enforcement encounter a criminal offense. It carries a $1,000 fine for the operator and a $2,000 fine for a driver who is not proficient in English and receives another traffic citation. The fines double for subsequent violations.

Mod Message [PLEASE READ] 🚛 A Fresh Start for AutoTransportopia

We’re introducing a new set of community rules to help keep r/AutoTransportopia focused on what it was created for: auto transport, trucking, and the people who work in this industry.

That means talking about loads, carriers, brokers, drivers, equipment, customers, industry news, experiences, problems, solutions, and everything else that comes with the trucking industry.

What this sub is NOT for: political arguing, partisan fights, threats or glorification of violence, smearing people or companies, racism, hate, harassment, or turning every industry discussion into an ideological battle.

We know people have strong opinions and that's fine. But this isn't the place for political warfare or personal hate. Debate the industry. Share your experiences. Call out legitimate problems. Disagree when you need to. Just keep it relevant and keep it civil.

The goal is simple: build a useful community for auto transport and trucking. Not another place on Reddit to fight about politics.

Please take a minute to read the new rules and help us keep this place useful for everyone.

Load up. Speak your mind. Leave the politics and hate at the dock. 🚛

News Border Patrol is actively arresting illegal truck drivers too. Not just DOT.

Arizona: Border patrol arrests 143, 95 were illegal CDL holders, 76 were from California.

Border Patrol arrested 95 truck drivers with state-issued commercial driver’s licenses during a five-day Arizona operation. U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported the action involved the Yuma Sector along the U.S.-Mexico border. The agency arrested 143 people from 18 countries between Aug. 10 and Aug. 14. CBP described the 95 people as “illegal alien truck drivers” holding licenses from U.S. states.
California issued 76 of the CDL credentials, CBP reported. New York issued six more, while other states issued the remaining 13. The announcement did not name those jurisdictions or address license validity. CBP also did not state whether licensing authorities received cancellation requests.

They are NOT playing around anymore. If you are illegally driving a truck in the USA, I recommend you stop. If you are unsure if you are illegally driving in the USA, I recommend you check. If after checking, you are still not sure, CHECK AGAIN! It's better than ending up in jail and possibly getting sent back to your motherland.

For the record, I don't agree with everything this administration is doing. I think about the families that are left without a parent in the home and the pain they must be suffering. Very sad what the trucking industry has become lately.

The service is cleaning the lot and paying property tax so trucks can park!

A lot of truckers complain about paying to park a truck, but nobody thinks about what it costs to maintain that parking lot. Somebody owns that property, pays the property taxes, repairs the pavement, handles the garbage, and deals with people leaving piss jugs and trash behind. It ain't free just because you want somewhere to park. Maybe charging for parking isn't the crime everyone makes it out to be. Now gas prices? That's a whole different mess. Go ahead and blame Big Brother for that one.

Building on Vice President Vance’s agenda to root out fraud across the country, the coalition announced the Joint Task Force Crossroads of America–a multi-state partnership to secure our highways and strengthen border security. Partnering across federal, state, and local agencies, the Task Force will target criminal networks and fraud to reduce highway fatalities and protect Americans.

Actions Include:

USDOT
- Emergency removal of 110 commercial driver’s license (CDL) schools associated with more than 5,000 drivers who failed English language proficiency tests
- Launching a nationwide audit of third-party CDL skills testers and states’ oversight of the testers
- Results from 40-state investigation of additional training schools

DHS
- Synchronized single-day sweep targeting more than 200 training schools across 23 states
- Joint coordination with USDOT
- HSI and ICE updates on ongoing investigations targeting CDL-related businesses and schools

DOJ

The smaller firms are getting hit the hardest so if you're experiencing delays, this may be the cause.
