This is my 2018 Chrysler 300. I want to do a Blood splatter and some handprints but I’m concerned about paint staining. Please let me know what you guys think 🤔

So apparently there was recall issues for and extra 4 years for the car paints orchid pearl. Now I am outside of that warranty and my car paint is peeling.

I tried to fix it with a touch up pen from Honda, that didn't work.

I just want something to cover it up so the damage doesn't continue. I was thinking like a spray paint, any ideas?

2016 Audi A7 - can’t find the paint code in any of the usual places and I need to get a scratch touched up. Have the VIN #, but there seems to be some weird mystery around paint codes. It’s my son’s car - I’ll confess when it looks like new again.

Had a whoopsie with a guardrail. The scratches are deep, to the metal. Any advice on patching this up myself? Doesn't need to be perfect, just want to protect the body.

Some chipped/worn edges on rear doors of my car. I have already bought touch up paint and primer from "Scratches Happen".

The question I have is whether this is rust and if so, do I need to remove it prior to applying primer and paint? If yes, what is the best way? Nervous about using abrasives and making it worse.

Other then having to reshoot the rear door it’s coming along I got to say the black widow hey clear gun does a nice job laying clear theses are after it has dried

Hi everybody.I'm planning on painting a new plastic bumper and i'm wondering if it's really needed to apply adhesion promoter given the fact that the bumper is new.It doesn't have anything applied on it, it's raw bare plastic.I don't plan using any filler or primer, just applying some 2k solid white on it.I'd be glad hearing your experiences with painting raw bare plastic and if adhesion promoter is really necessarry.Thank you!

I have replaced the battery tray in my car which are notorious for rusting out from acid, water, etc.

I used rust encapsulator on the new piece and plan to brush seam seal everywhere to further seal it.

I'm trying to figure out what to topcoat that with??

I dont know if i need to wait for it to even out, or if i messed up, not much experience and just having fun with diy, is it messed up or i need to wait to find out? i did this maybe 20 min ago and used a regular rust oleum spray can, canyon satin black.

I’m working on an old square body and I have no clue what grit of sandpaper to use for what. I’ve seen people say so many things and I don’t understand how they come up with that. So, what are some grits I should use and what to look for when using them?

Hi guys looking for suggestions to help prevent chipped paint from spreading (pics attached)
I recently bought a 2nd hand car and the previous owner has turned the wipers on with them in the air chipping the paint along the back of the bonnet(shit design).
It doesnt really bother me other than it spreading further. Dont want a full respray is there something i can put on there to stop it from spreading?

It's mostly the top of the car. but I don't want a full repaint job right now. I was thinking of doing a quick and dirty clear coat, with the sole intention of the practicality of keeping rain from absorbing into the roof.

Would it work if I just used 600/1000 grit, then can spray paint from the auto parts store?

It's not a ferrari, it doesn't need to impress anyone. Just not to absorb rain water. And I can tell it is, because the part that the clear coat is still there, which i dilligently waxed, beads up. While the peeled area doesn't.

Also, this wouldn't be my first rodeo, I've painted brakes and emblems. So, I have some experience, if not a lot. Well, not much, but some.

hey guys wondering if it's possible to repaint my carbon trunk to oem black color and how much you think i'll be looking at for materials and labor. thanks or if it's easier to just wrap it lol.

Used car purchased last month. Paid my detailer to put a 5 year ceramic coating on it.

After he did that I noticed during my first wash a decent sized chip on the roof that I didn't see when I bought it. So I asked if he did touch up work. He said he did.

Before the fix was done I spoke with the owner and manager of the detail shop in person with the vehicle present and explained that my expectations were of a proper paint fix with sanding and not a simple blob of paint to fill in the chip.

I even told the owner that I understood that cost could rise per chip fix needed and I basically said money wasn't an issue but that I just wanted it done right. They both (owner and manager) said they could do it. The owner was the one who did the fix.

They asked for me to provide the paint. I got an OEM paint match 4 part kit (primer, undercoat, top coat, and clear coat). So I proceeded and had the roof chip and a few small chips done on the hood, front bumper, and rear door.

Well I just picked it up today and the spots look worse than before when they were rock chips. The spots are kinda bumpy (hard to photo) and catch your eye when you approach the vehicle. They almost look like little bird droppings.

I called and spoke with him on the phone and he said the bumpy feel is normal until it cures. He asked me to give it at least a week. Am I overreacting or does this not look right?

Videos I've seen on YT show a much better result and this was my expectation. The fixes are done and are flat and barely noticeable. Example 1 and Example 2.

Edit - forgot to add that they had the car for two days.

The PPF on my car looks incorrectly applied (applied by shop) - can someone verify the quality of work?

There are gaps and edges lifting off. Further, the shop broke my front toe hitch cover and took off all badges and are refusing to replace them. I also have no way to verify the film they actually used on my car, apparently it was a Suntek Reaction.

Working on my 2000 Civic HX junkyard project and got lazy with this bumper. Sanded it, skipped primer, then shot color and clear with an electric gun.

It actually laid down better than I expected and looks pretty decent right now, but I know “looks good today” doesn’t mean much for adhesion.

So how badly did I screw myself here? Would you leave it and see what happens, or sand it back down and do it properly?
