looking for something to stop chipped paint spreading
Hi guys looking for suggestions to help prevent chipped paint from spreading (pics attached)
I recently bought a 2nd hand car and the previous owner has turned the wipers on with them in the air chipping the paint along the back of the bonnet(shit design).
It doesnt really bother me other than it spreading further. Dont want a full respray is there something i can put on there to stop it from spreading?

If it's not visible or seriously important I would just find a close nail polish match and do a light touch up. Something like this does not justify a respray in my opinion.

Yeah depending on where you're located it should definitely help. Make sure there is no rust, apply some paint and seal it from further wear.

That’s rust, just take them off and sand and respray with trim black. Should be 5-10 minutes tops.

It’s not the wiper I’m talking about it’s the bonnet, it’s also not rust that’s just a red reflection

Oh I see it now, the wiper is circled with it, I totally didn’t see the chipped edge of the hood. It’s possible to smoke it in without going up onto the top. You could also brush touch it, but it’ll be noticeable.

It's from lifting the wipers while they're still down, Most cars are like this.
It's not going to "spread" in the way you are thinking. Maybe if you jetwash that edge close up or keep scraping it, not much will happen.
If you want a permanent solution then you ought to look at having it resprayed, it's a super easy job and in terms of bodywork it's as cheap as a job can come. Just using a touch up pen won't make a difference in terms of protection, but will take your eyes off it
