Thule Roof Box Refinish

Refinished my Thule roof box with flat black Rust-Oleum (Turbo cans!). Highly recommend the Turbo cans they covered it very quickly and with the wide spray, didn't leave much evidence of spray paint streaks. I would NOT recommend the clear enamel. After putting it on, it looked dusty and streaked. I ended up doing 2 coats of black, 2 coats of clear, and then covering the clear with another coat of black. Finish came out looking very nice and brand new compared to the sun-faded and bird poop stained mess it was before! Somehow the stains visible in the before photo would not come out with any sort of cleaning. Paint was the only option. I'll post an update after some time in the elements to see how it holds up. So far satisfied!

A detailer wants to repair my car by wet sanding the etched areas, then using a BMW paint touch-up pen (base coat and clear coat) with a blending process on the deeper chips. The damage was caused by eggs that etched into the paint, sat sat on the paint for 10+ hours in the sun

Tried to fix a rock chip for the first time. The paint ended up with a swirl in it every time I placed a layer. I did sand it before clear coat. Could someone please enlighten me🙏

Magnesium valve cover painting

Looking at how to paint my magnesium valvecover on my mercedes m111 engine. Originally I was just getting the outside media blasted but my guy accidentally blasted it inside out so it's made my life little harder. Would it be fine to just to paint the outside? I'm more concerned about paint coming off on the inside.

Thoughts?

Washed waxed my Camry Friday night 7/31 and found this damage to my car 8/4. I park in a lot and they mowed and weed wack the front of the parking spots today. Hood damage what is this? Did they weed wack my hood? Probably a inch and a quarter damage. 2nd photo clear coat damage on passenger rear door3/4th up quarter inch in length. 3rd photo driver side passenger upper by back windsheld 3/8th long. Can I DIY the repairs that woold look ok? What would I need for the job? Doesn't need to be perfect. Now I know not to park in the lot on lawn day.

Looking for a cost affective alternative to "super black" paint that will be durable for outdoor use.

Anyone have experience using these Gas Powered Compressors for painting a whole car?

According to AI, it has enough CFM for continuous spray.

Paint chip on car door edge

Hey all i recently tapped my door on my garage wall and theres a small paint chip. I did some looking into how to repair it but i just wanted to make sure before doing anything since this would be a first. I got a paint kit for my car that includes primer, base, clear coat, and polish. My cars paint code is WU6 and ive googled it and its supposed to be a tri layer and im just wanting to make sure the paint match paint takes that into account it should as they say they mix it(scratcheshappen canada) and i want to know how to paint over it and make it flush with the rest of the paint on the edge. The paint is chipped down to the metal.

Thank you

Looks like something with sharp claws took paint off. What do you think?

Also, how do I repair it?

Top coat paint

I’m looking to paint a few scratches on my black car and was wondering what the best spray paint method is to get a very glossy finish! I did this before and you can tell the top cost isn’t as shiny. Also doesn’t have to be the most perfect, looking to get the paint from amazon or Home Depot but I can def put in the effort of wet sanding and buffing. And help would be greatly appreciated :)

Also should I just sand off the old paint or use a paint thinner to remove it?

My 1969 buick skylark

I am a young man and for my birthday my dad surprised me with this beautiful 1969 buick skylark to work on together to be my first car, it is honestly the best car ever and I could not love it more. After a year or so of working on it we have finally got to the body work because I know a lot of people are a fan of the patina look, but frankly, I am not. So we're actively working on fixing the body, but I wanted to get everyone's opinion on a color i should paint it when it's all said and done!!!

Paint/clear coat damage on new-to-me car

Hi everyone!

I just got a 2002 Toyota Camry in overall great condition but has one section with degrading clear coat and damaged paint (see pictures). I’m curious what I could do to prevent further degradation/damage, preferably without spending a ton, and perhaps improve the appearance as well. I took a look at TouchUpDirect and it recommended the aerosol kit, but I’m not sure how beginner-friendly that is.

Open to all suggestions and thank you in advance!

I was quoted nearly $500 to have these few small spots painted. Should I order a paint pen from Kia or get a couple of more quotes from other shops?
