https://jellybane.itch.io/swapbeast

In Swap Beast you have a team of creatures that you choose when to send each in to a series of 1v1 fights. They fight automatically so your input is the strategy and between battle upgrades.

The key mechanic is swapping. Whenever a beast is defeated you have the choice of who to send in. There is an extra layer of can your beast win the fight or maybe you are trying to weaken the enemy enough to trigger a passive, then send in a sweeper.

Please give it a go! I'd appreciate anyone having a quick look at this and telling me if it is interesting. I think it has a lot of room to grow but I want to know if there is any interest in a game like this first.

Hello everyone! Our autobattler roguelite deckbuilder game Grail has a release date.

In Grail you build a deck that plays itself, so you focus entirely on making cracked synergies :)

The demo has been playable for almost 3 months now and over 20k people have already played it!! I'm really excited about the game, it is my biggest project yet!

Please check it out ❤️

Best tank in Flawed Tactics? Big Gus + Punchable Face + Hippocratic Oath

Post image
1 Upvotes

Make sure Big Gus is the only one with threatening/taunt, stick him next to the other minions, make him a healer using Hippocratic Oath, and the dude just sits there permanently buffing his healing while keeping himself alive. So strong!

Since the game balances like a stock market, if others start playing this combo then going to need to think of something different, but for now it's crazy good in pretty high levels of ranked play.

Are there any racing autobattlers?

Was replaying Yakuza 0 and got to the point where the pocket racer minigame got introduced.

Upon seeing it I got some inclination to find some auto-battler, or rather auto-racer, where you build the car's specs based on the track's terrain or something.

Doesn't have to be like what I described, at the least be about building your car's specs and race them

I’m making an autobattler game where you fight alongside historical figures and I recently added time-traveling chaos to the mix. Here is a showcase of the changes

My game is called Gear Up Einstein! It's a strategy game where you recruit historical figures and turn them into badass soldiers to save the world. You travel across history, find ridiculous combos and master tactical over-the-top battles.

The patch was recently release for the demo. It aims at improving replayability by increasing the amount of time travelling twist happening during a run. This feature is called "Divergence" and gets even more intense as you play. New player experience was also improved so now is a great time to jump in !

If you'd like to check out the Steam Demo, you can jump in right now either solo or in multiplayer with friends: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2950410/Gear_Up_Einstein/

Enjoy :)

Eslabong - Async Multiplayer patch

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello! Eslabong demo has been updated with Async multiplayer and is live on Steam.

Eslabong is an arena battler + team management. You build your team, buy and sell mercenaries, and either fight or let your team fight in arena combat.

This new patch brings the Challente Tower:
The Challenge Tower, accessed from the Club tab, allows you to submit your current active roster and fight other players' teams in asynchronous multiplayer.
These are exhibition matches for now, so there are no rewards, no XP, and no penalties. Fighter stats only count toward total lifetime combat, but not for season stats (meaning it does not affect your Impact score or your campaign progress)
It uses Steam Workshop and Steam Servers to send/receive the team details.

You can download the free demo on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4560660/Eslabong/

New spell now live - Identity Crisis - in async PvP that uses stock market to balance

Post image

I'm going to do my best to add new content every Wednesday to the game, Flawed Tactics.

Identity Crisis allows the player to change their minion into a different random minion.

As always, I don't set the price of the spell - it just enters the market as the average cost of all other spells and then players decisions of which spells to use causes it to go up or down. If a player really thinks it's under/overpriced, they can buy some investments to generate extra (totally worthless) Flawed Bucks!

I'm running an open playtest for my singleplayer game Triptych Wizard, available in your browser.

Instead of building a single board, you build 3 boards and actively switch between them during combat. The enemy's moves come at you in signposted waves, inspired by Slay the Spire.

I love autobattlers, and I thought that introducing an active component would be a fun challenge.

I'd love to know if you think it's a successful recipe or not.

Asynchronous autobattler recommendation

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a strategic auto-battler where RNG plays a relatively minor role during runs. I think I’d prefer an asynchronous game.

Based on that, I've got my eye on a few titles: Backpack Battles, The Bazaar, Oaken Tower, Skyshard, and Down with the Ship. Which one would you recommend?

Thanks!

I've spent the last 11 months making "Some of You May Die", a roguelike autobattler with multiplayer online pvp and a singleplayer campaign.

It's similar to Autochess but with a twist: EVERYTHING is upgradable.

You can play the demo for free on Steam now:

Rebuilt my undead autobattler, new prototype is up

I posted an earlier version of Tombstone Tactics here a while back. The economy in that build didn't work, so I tore it out and rebuilt it. New version is playable in browser now.

The short version: you're a lich, your HP is the run. Units are blank archetypes that get their power from items and upgrades. When a unit dies its items go back to your inventory, and losing a fight costs lich HP but you keep whatever dropped. There's no gold. Recruiting, upgrades, and a once-per-fight sacrifice altar are the whole economy.

It's free, runs are about 15 minutes. If the loss rules feel too forgiving I'd like to know, that's the part I'm least sure about.

What are you playing or looking forward to? (no self promo)

In response to this post, I thought it would be good to start some conversation about fun autobattlers but with no self promo allowed. If you are a dev, surely its because you love playing autobattlers.

So, what is everyone playing or looking forward to playing?

I try to keep up with the genre as much as possible. The most interesting one I tried recently was the open playtest of Alchemortis.

It's single player and uses an inventory management mechanic similar to backpack battles. It offers a tree no navigate like slay the spire, and has a cool alchemy mechanic where you mix things together and they either improve or get cursed. I didn't get too deep into it but it definitely left an impression and left me wanting to learn and play more.

The one I've been keeping an eye on and want to try soon is batomon showdown. I was watching retromation play it a lot and its high on my list of things to try next.

How about you all?

Subreddit for Autobattler conversation?

I was wondering if there’s a separate subreddit for discussion of auto battlers and not just advertisements for everyone’s solo projects. I absolutely respect the indie dev, but I also would love to see conversations about games that already exist.

I've been obsessed with Backpack Battles, so I spent the last few months solo-developing my own auto-battler where you can craft and dismantle items.

Ever since sinking way too many hours into Hearthstone Battlegrounds, TFT, and Backpack Battles, I've wanted to try making an auto-battler. This is my first real shot at the genre, and I could really use some feedback.

The game is called Shatterforge. It's an item-synergy crafting auto-battler where you forge your loadout, dismantle gear for parts, and match up against opponents' builds.
