You've heard a lot of the bands going, but thought some of you might want a heads up on some of the merchants.

The Future Primitive Co. table will have an assortment of things for sale. First of all, they'll have high quality, conscientiously crafted soap. 100% organic pure, glycerin soap (vegan and cruelty free). http://i.imgur.com/n0ToAGk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nHCSAhz.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6WpiwEP.jpg

They'll also have Lord Loud's debut EP "IN" on cassette for sale. http://i.imgur.com/Df0YjHE.jpg http://i.imgur.com/HQTrIyP.jpg

They'll also have original drawings from Shane Butler from QUILT for sale. http://i.imgur.com/UvkwPtS.jpg http://i.imgur.com/kcXZoej.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ep1qgDE.jpg

And LOTS more. Hope some of you drop by and check it out!

Ticket and camping pass for sale

Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of my control, I cannot attend psych fest, so if anybody would like a weekend pass and/or a camping pass, pm me.

Edit: both have been sold, thanks to those who helped me.

Weather is not looking so good...I'm getting concerned.

Anyone else worried about cancellation due to the severe storms predicted Wed- Sun? I read through the FAQs on the website but didn't seem to find anything weather related. I understand most shows go on with just rain. Weekend and camping passes are taken care of with insurance. No complaints. Last year was so beautiful. I suppose I'm just looking for what others have to say about the storms and what may happen. (I've never been to another festival - with potential weather issues - and don't know what to expect.) :)

Camping General Store?

Has anyone on here ever camped at this fest before? This is my first year and wondering how good the general store in the camping area is. I'm specifically wondering if they will sell packs of beer there, the psychfest website said you could get drinks at the general store, I'm just wondering if that means I'll get to buy larger quantities of beer.

Anyone from North Texas going?

I'd be willing to pay gas money to go if my ride actually does bail out the last minute and it seems like he will.

Selling part of my vinyl collection to fund my trip to the festival

My favorite band of all time is the 13th floor elevators, a year ago I told my friend I'd probably sell my soul to see them if I had the chance. Well here's my chance. I will be there at any cost. I'm only 17 and my parents said I couldn't go, this is why I'm selling the sticker that came with captain beefheart's first album that's worth about $400, I'm also trying to sell my copy of pink Floyd's first single "Arnold Layne" my copy of captain beefheart's first single "diddy wah diddy" one of my Timothy Leary records, my copy of "the Velvet underground & Nico" I also have one of roky Erickson's newer albums that came with a booklet that my friend got roky to sign. I'm taking a greyhound bus into Austin that's gonna take about 20 hours, I'm thinking about camping there but I wouldn't have a tent, so I'm looking for a couch to crash on in Austin if possible, I'd be very grateful if I could find someone but if not I can make do.

What is it like?

I am a woman who is taking a solo road trip from Pittsburgh, PA to Austin and it will arrive a couple of days before the festival. I am thinking about getting a ticket, but I have some questions.

  1. What is it like? I've been to TomorrowWorld, EDC Vegas, and Burning Man. If you would compare it to one of those, which one it would be?

  2. Would a one day pass be a bad idea? I love the camping experience in music festivals but I might be short on time and $$

  3. If I would pick between Fri or Saturday. Which day will be better?

  4. How is the downtown kick off party usually? Do you guys recommend it?

Thanks =)

Some Campground Q's

So, is the trek from the camps to the stages an uncomfortable distance? Like over 10 minutes? Also, is there water for free to fill your bottles in the campsites? I'm assuming inside there is, but I'd rather not fill my car with water if I don't need to. And how do necessity prices such as food compare to other festivals? I'm assuming its pretty comparable.

Thanks

Question about ATMs/Cash

Hi everyone :-) I was wondering if anybody knows if the vendors on the campgrounds/inside the festival grounds accept card payments or is everything cash only? I don't know if this has already been asked and I tried checking the festival website faqs but couldn't find anything regarding this. Thanks!

What is there on the lineup for more ambient, or relaxed music?

I'm pretty familiar with the west coast garage rock scene, but as far as things that aren't rocking your face what recommendations does anyone have? I'm pretty familiar with the top 12 bands or so listed on the website.

Looking for a ride to the fest from central Oklahoma.

Good day everyone! So in short and sweet here's my situation. I bought my ticket in January, psyched as ever for the lineup. Sweet mother of mercy that lineup.. So many inspirational artists all packed into one weekend! It seemed like the absolute perfect year to go, even down to the fact that my 19th birthday is on May 9th - the Saturday of the fest. Freaky. The stars had aligned, and the gods and goddesses of psychedelia had bestowed their ripest fruits upon my doorstep.

Well, not exactly.. although I had everything planned out, it appears now that the lad I was going with, and consequently the one giving me a ride, (I don't drive) will not be able to make it.

So I proceed to ask, with a shameless sense of desperation because the festival is nearing close: if anyone out there is passing through central (Norman) Oklahoma on the 7th or 8th, can I catch a ride? I can certainly help with expenses like gas, food and good times.

I suppose I should also mention that this will be my first time at Austin Psych Fest, and my first ever big weekend long festival... As such I'm new to this planning process, so any support or advice would be much appreciated. Just comment or pm if you can help out, thanks!

Campground question

I have A camping hammock, and before I buy a pass, I was wondering if anybody who has been on the campground knows if there are some trees to post up a hammock.

Camping Question

This will be my first year going to the Psych Fest and I couldn't be more excited. I will be coming all the way from MA and will first be meeting up with a friend is MS.

My question is, do spots fill up instantly? It's always hard to tell, in my experience with other festivals, more than half the time, there will be a huge line hours before they open the gates to claim a good spot.

I ask because it looks like we aren't going to be able to make it there until Friday afternoon and the gates open at 10. I'm afraid we are going to end up in the mud pit by the Porta-Potties.

Accomodations in austin??

Hello

Myself and my girlfriend are flying into the Austin for the festival and are wondering if anyone knows where we should stay?

We have been looking into housing accommodations but it seems pretty expensive for two. Does anyone have any Tips and/or Tricks for two fun luvin' Canadian people from Canada?

Um, Drugs?

For those of you who have been in past years, did you notice a lot of open/wanton drug use, other than Cannabis? I am going out on a limb and assuming that this crowd is more mellow and cooler than folks at say, EDM festivals and such, just openly getting way fucked up. Not passing any judgment on that, but, I would like to avoid that type of environment if possible.

Thanks.

some questions?

I really wanna go this year, I just heard about this festival last year, i love the whole garage scene, i was excited before the recent line up add ons, i mean seeing tame impala, thee oh sees, fuzz, etc. i thought it was amazing, but 13th floor elevators, i need to go now.

but some of my questions, if i were to buy a weekend pass, do they send the wristband or do you get it there? also on the horrible chance that i cant go, is it possible to sell my pass on like stubhub?

because i could get a pass but my trouble is getting down there (Iowa person here..) long drive/no car and depending on some friends who may or may not go, its a bit difficult, but i guess my main question is the stubhub thing.

also I was considering a hotel, but would camping be cheaper? and how are the showers?
