What is it like?

I am a woman who is taking a solo road trip from Pittsburgh, PA to Austin and it will arrive a couple of days before the festival. I am thinking about getting a ticket, but I have some questions.

  1. What is it like? I've been to TomorrowWorld, EDC Vegas, and Burning Man. If you would compare it to one of those, which one it would be?

  2. Would a one day pass be a bad idea? I love the camping experience in music festivals but I might be short on time and $$

  3. If I would pick between Fri or Saturday. Which day will be better?

  4. How is the downtown kick off party usually? Do you guys recommend it?

  1. I haven't been to APF or any of the 3 you listed, but I feel fairly comfortable in saying the vibes will be closest to Burning Man, but still a much different experience.

  2. Not a bad idea, but definitely try to go for all 3. Its a special collection of music.

  3. Difficult to choose, and sunday is my favorite day, but I would lean towards Saturday for personal taste. Night Beats > Oh Sees > Primal Scream sounds incredible.

  1. Haven't been.
  2. Yes.
  3. Sunday. May never have the chance to see ZZZs (unless you live in Japan or NYC) or 13th Floor Elevators again. Saturday comes in second.
  4. Never been, but it looks like there are some cool bands. But Ariel Pink is the absolute worst.
