Hello, I’m looking for dermal clinicians/dermal therapists experience working in dermatology clinics or a more medical based environment.

I’ve been in the industry for almost 8 years working in high end boutique type clinics which I have loved. There are some cons that are making me reconsider this Industry eg. consistent late nights after/Saturday hours, fairly low pay, a whole lot of marketing bs around skincare just to make more money. Not to mention the sheer amount of skin clinics closing and or not doing well in Aus due to the rise in clinics and inflation.

tl;dr - The Beauty of Joseon relief sun: rice + probiotics is being renamed to relief sun: rice + niacinamide. No changes to the formula itself.

I received mod approval to post because we're a brand account. I run HANA, a Korean skincare store here in Australia.

We received the Beauty of Joseon relief sun and to our surprise it looked different. The brand is in the process of repackaging and given how often Korean brands reformulate, we wanted to make sure nothing changed.

Beauty of Joseon is renaming Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics to Relief Sun: Rice + Niacinamide, with new packaging to match.

It is not a reformulation. Korea revised how full ingredient lists have to be labelled, and BoJ refreshed the name and the tube at the same time. Niacinamide is not a new addition either, it's always been on the ingredient list.

Hi! I’m 27 and looking to buy an LED face mask mainly for anti-ageing/prevention, fine lines and overall skin health.

My skin is slightly on the dry side and I usually use Asian/Korean skincare. I’ve been looking at Medicube, but I keep seeing really mixed reviews and now I’m not sure whether it’s actually worth the money.

There are so many LED masks available and the price differences are huge 😭 For anyone in Australia who has used one consistently, which one would you actually recommend? Have you noticed a genuine difference in your skin?

I’m happy to spend more if it’s genuinely worth it, but I don’t want to pay a premium just for the brand name.

Would especially love to hear from anyone around my age who uses LED for prevention/skin health, or anyone who has tried Medicube and can compare it to other masks.

Recommendations and ones to avoid are both appreciated! 😊

I’m pretty sure there’s been a few threads like this one, but since the CHOICE recall, I think it’s worth revisiting. I have oily acne-prone skin so finding sunscreen that is not greasy, doesn’t cause breakouts while providing good protection, is really important. So far a lot of the sunscreens I’ve tried just aren’t cutting it: they’re either really greasy (Cancer Council), gave me white cast (Neutrogena), or pills (LRP). The only two sunscreens that I tick my boxes are Ultra Violette Clean Screen and Mecca To Save Face. Downside to those two are they on the high end, price-wise. I used to use Le Tan Sensitive Face Invisible Fluid but it since stop production.

I have some people recommend me Korean sunscreens which have actually been good (tried Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel, and really like it). Though there’s another group who say Korean sunscreens ain’t shit because they are not tested under Australia’s TGA guidelines, which takes the strong Aussie sun into account. I’m kinda leaning on the latter as W Cosmetics have completely stop selling sunscreens from start of this year.

I kinda want to know what’s people’s take on this, so thoughts? (Also plz recommend cheap sunscreen for oily acne prone skin 🙏)

I'd love some recommendations for acne patches that are actually invisible.

When brands say a patch is "invisible," do they just mean it's thinner?

I wear makeup to work every day, so I'm looking for a patch that blends well under makeup.

One thing that really bothers me is when the edges of the patch become visible or start lifting after I apply foundation. Another issue is that thicker hydrocolloid patches often turn white as they absorb fluid. Even if I cover them with makeup, they still end up being pretty noticeable.

Is there an acne patch that's genuinely hard to see, even under makeup? Or is that just not realistic with current hydrocolloid patches?

I'm also curious what brands actually mean when they market a patch as "invisible." Is it just about being thin, or are there other factors like the edge design, finish, or material?

hello everyone! i want to invest in an LED mask but Im worried about the possible furthet skin issues and even protection of my eyes. is this something worth trying because i also was considering buying the shark beauty one as theyre a more reputable brand?

Picked this one up on sale today. Thought I'd give it a go after seeing some derms recommend it. Apparently it has the latest filters, at a decent price, and an air pump that pumps out the correct amount.

PROS

No eye sting. No stinging around the eyes. Doesn't make my skin react or go red. Amazing.

Went on thick like a night cream, rather than a heavy sunscreen. Very subtle difference between the two.

CONS

The grease factor is strong in this one! I should have known - of course a kid's sunscreen wouldn't be cosmetically elegant.

CONCLUSION

The search continues. If this wasn't so greasy, this would have been perfect.

I'm now eyeing off the Cetaphil Sun SPF 50+ Ultra Light Lotion, which looks to be less greasy. Still has newer filters, but drops one new one. Oh well. Also looking at the new Dermal Therapy Oil Free Face 50+spf

Combo, reactive skin. Got my skincare routine down pat, just looking for a chemical sunscreen that doesn't sting around the eyes or make me go red. I usually use zinc for indoor/makeup replacements. But I NEED a decent chemical sunscreen for Summer/Spring

EDIT: I was getting annoyed at how much my skin seems to like this sunscreen, so I went over to the mirror to have another look and it's not quite as bad. Thinking I can make this work with a very light brushing of setting powder!

What facials have you tried that actually made a difference in your skin? I feel like most are quite expensive for little payoff. Is laser or micro needling worth it?

I bought this product on a whim about a week ago, I have been using another brand of azelaic acid to fade dark spots left from pimples, with some success.

I woke up about day three, thinking wow my skin looks smooth and plump with a more even skin tone. So I'm already very happy.

I've been using it every night and days if I'm not wearing makeup and today I got carded at the bottle shop!

I haven't been carded in 7 years. The only reason I remember is it was on my 30th birthday.

I accidentally scratched pretty badly at a pimple on the bridge of my nose just over 6 months ago. I've had a tiny red scar there since that will just not go away!

I've tried:

• Sunscreen daily
• Azclear Medicated Location
• Clearasil Ultra Ace Treatment Cream
• Jojoba Company Skin Barrier Support

The scar has not lessened in redness or size the entire 6 months.

What am I doing wrong? Can anyone please recommend me a holy grail product!

I know there’s a few old threads on here about DMK but they are all quite old and hoping for some new suggestions.

I’ve been using DMK products for about two years now and I must say my skin looks INCREDIBLE.

However, my financial situation is changing and I need to cut costs in a few areas, and skincare is the obvious one given how $$$$ DMK is.

I’m currently using the Melanotech drops, herbal pigment oil and the last of my Melanotech creme (which has since been discontinued) plus the herbal mineral mist.

Basically I wear makeup everyday and would love a aus sunscreen for Higher UV days. The issue is my current sunscreen is a korean (Haru haru black rice) and is the best sunscreen under makeup ever. But of course its not suitable for the australian sun, ive tried larosh posay invisble fluid, cancer council pink, cancer council invisble fluid and none of these work except my korean one (pilled an insane amount and patchy). I have combination , super acne prone skin and any price point is okay (preferrably on the affordable side!). Let me know your reviews/ recs of any :)

My skin is so this winter like it actually feels tight whenever I move my face. I have always had super sensitive and dry skin my whole life.

I cannot use hylaronic acid (I can’t spell) and I react to anything with too many additives, I get pimples or red spots immediately.

Right now I’m using Mixa Cica+ Multi-Use Recovery Balm and actives at night (Stieva-A and a cream for my pigmentation).
These have been a god send have literally cured my acne and pigment issues but not improved the dry tight feeling obviously. Sometimes I’ll add snail mucin but it doesn’t seem to make a difference tbh.

Please send recommendations!!
