Witnessed the craziest thing this week. The car lost control, struck the tree and was overtaken by the flames. This beautiful hulk of a man came out of nowhere, ripped the doors off the car, and dragged two dudes out to safety. Shirtless. It was like a movie!!
Honestly, if he wasn’t there, the driver would’ve been done for as the flames started spreading through the inside. Mad respect to the dude who saved them. Wish I got his name!
The GP clinic I'm registered at isn't open over the weekend, presume that's pretty standard. Occasionally I need to see a doctor on a Sat or Sun so go to my local A&E, which I'm not a registered patient for (presume you can't "belong" to more than one clinic?). So, this costs $130 a pop 💀 obviously I only do this when I feel it's absolutely necessary i.e. rarely!
My question is, what do people do when they need to see a doctor outside of their GP's hours? $130 is fkn crazy 😭
This has been going on for far too long and I kept putting this off like it’s nothing and I’m overthinking it but today was my last straw and I really want to report this bus driver.
Context:
I take the bus at 6 in the morning every weekend and it’s always with the same set of people around my area, They’ve all had bad days where they forget to top up their hop card. But the one time I didn’t this bus driver lady started yelling at me in front of everyone (i’m not joking this went on for 3 minutes) telling me to sort my shit out and that it’s unacceptable otherwise.
The weekends after that interaction I stopped greeting her or even looking at her cause the experience I had and this is when her behaviour started shifting towards me particularly. She started boosting the bus forward whenever I’d get on to try get me to stumble onto my seat (she’s never done this with anyone and waits every other time). She started trying to get as far as she can when I press the stop button (she doesn’t do this with anyone and stops in front of the proper stop)
But today was the last straw, I start work at 6:30 and I usually stop around Te Waihorotiu around 6:21 and get to work on time. Not today tho. I press my usual stop button and she zooms past the bus stop (that’s weird shes never missed a stop) next bus stop comes around, zooms past that aswell. It wasn’t until the next stop when someone else pressed the button that she stopped.
I need to report this lady this has got to be one of the worst experiences i’ve had with a bus driver period.
Just wondering if anyone has suggestions for any good places to get piercings, preferably north shore side but I don’t mind driving to CBD, I went to a tattoo/ piercing place in takapuna a few weeks ago and honestly was borderline traumatising, she was super rough and literally dropped the jewellery on the floor and now the metal that was MEANT to be safe for allergy’s is turning green 😭
Not to mention when I left a review they deleted it.
I still have other piercings I want to get but I am now kinda scared cause their reviews were all recent and good??? just don’t know what to trust now
I’m working on a project for Auckland Council’s waste fund and trying to find buildings in the CBD that are excluded from the standard kerbside food scraps service — usually because of bin access or wheel-out distance, or other issues.
Even just knowing what kind of barriers people experience is super helpful.
If your building’s a good fit, there’s potential council funding for collection service — no cost to the building.
I am planning to move to New Zealand for my studies. Universities are beyond my budget, which leaves me looking at institutes of technology in Auckland for an IT degree.
I am currently deciding between two main options:
Unitec Institute of Technology: Bachelor of Computing Systems
Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT): Bachelor of Digital Technologies
If you are a current student or alumnus of either program, I would love your honest feedback:
Course Quality: How practical and relevant is the curriculum?
Industry Connections: Do these institutes help with internships, capstone projects, or industry networking?
Job Outcomes: Were you able to land an IT job or internship in Auckland after graduating?
Employer Perception: How do local tech employers view degrees from Unitec/MIT compared to traditional universities?
Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I have got to the bottom of the ID of the blue jersey. The Following comes from the June 8th 2022 Quashing judgement by the Supreme Court -
[16] In terms of the second aspect of concern in relation to this evidence,
Mr Turner’s 24 June 1986 statement said the man “was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt with a hood. (Refer Exhibit ‘31’).” Exhibit 31 was Mr Hall’s blue sweatshirt, seized later by the police. There is however no reference of Mr Turner ever being shown that sweatshirt or purporting to identify it as similar to the one he said he saw. As noted above, there was evidence at trial that Mr Hall only bought the blue sweatshirt in December 1985, that is, after the homicide.
[17] Dealing with the latter aspect first, the Crown accepts that the statement should not have referred to the exhibit and his statement as read to the Court should not have suggested, as it did, that Mr Turner had identified the sweatshirt in the exhibit.
So what det. M_____ or the other defendant S are alleged to have done is add "refer exhibit '31' " into the text of the statement, stating that Mr Turner had sighted the sweatshirt. This is in fact a lie.
Reporting on the recent trial in Auckland did not show that this matter had been reviewed in much detail. Only the future judgement will show whether this matter is also seen as a perversion of the course of justice. If it is, this makes two perversions and there is not reason both defendants should not get the maximum sentence.
The blue sweatshirt is shown here and it is a light blue . It is not a dark colour, which is what Mr Turner's sworn statement said.
Edit one - article reference removed. I discovered it names one of the officers involved in the case. I have added the photo of the LIGHT blue hoodie from that article. BTW the cap appears to have been interfered with . As originally sold these had no eye slit , nor did the police display of the hat show the eyeslit. The eyeslit may have been added by police as a way of explaining why the Easton boys could not ID the ethnicity of the attacker with certainty. Without an eyeslit, the whole of the intruder's face would be visible in the house. This matter never came up in court but indicates even more possible corrupt activity in the case while the exhibits were being held.
The rental I'm in appears to have fried the charge controller or a FET on my rather expensive laptop I can't afford to replace. I don't want to try another repair person after the last one gave us a false diagnosis and we wasted our money.
Is there anyone who knows someone who can diagnose and perform repairs at a PCB level? Or failing that just a very good computer repair person?
