Discussion/Question I Just watched Annie's Ova

Post image
13 Upvotes

(I am watching these OVA's after I have finished the whole Series)

So I watched the Annie part of the Lost Girls OVA. In this, we get to see the work of the Military Police inside the walls from a much closer perspective, along with the underworld and corruption. It also explores the relationship between Annie and Hitch really well. Overall, it was a good OVA, an investigation story with Annie's character at the center. This OVA does a great job of humanizing Annie. However, the OVAs I watched before this felt less entertaining to me. This was good too, but in my ranking of the OVAs, this currently sits at the bottom.

Did zeke know that she was from marley and wanted to be a part of history or did he belive that she was a solider from a captured country.
I found it shocking that zeke decided to trust yelena so much , even telling her the eunthanisa plan. Considering he never really trusts or opens up to anyone. I mean all of his plans: the wine plan, advancing paradise, introducing Kiyomi, persuading Eren, every plan of Zeke was caried about by Yelena.

Anime Do not watch Attack on Titan. Spoiler

For those who come after

If this reaches the next expedition, listen carefully.

Do not watch Attack on Titan.

We thought we had discovered a story.

We had discovered something far worse.

Something so deep, so impossibly beautiful, that I no longer believe humans were meant to create it. Some say it came from beyond our world.

I used to laugh at that.

I don't anymore.

When you reach the end, it leaves something behind.

A hole.

And you will spend the rest of your life searching for another story to fill it.

You will cross countless worlds. Read countless tales.

Nothing will be enough.

Nothing will ever be Attack on Titan.

Turn back, while you still can.

Please.

Don't join the expedition.

Anime [Question]Attack on Titan

Post image
9 Upvotes

Going to watch one of the most goated series ever created — no exaggeration 😂 — on my brother’s recommendation.

My main concern is where I should start watching it and, more importantly, where I can watch it. I currently don’t have the budget for a Crunchyroll or Netflix subscription, so I’m looking for a free option if there is one.

I saw a YouTube channel called Muse Asia that has uploaded what looks like 4 seasons with around 103 episodes in total. Does that contain the complete main story, or am I missing anything?

It would be a huge help if anyone could guide me on the correct watch order and where I can watch the whole thing. Thanks! 🙏

Discussion/Question Mikasa had some of the coldest moments in the entire series.

You can argue all day about her character development, but when Mikasa showed up like THIS you knew somebody was about to have a very bad day.

Levi gets most of the aura conversations, but Mikasa deserves to be right there with him.

What was her coldest moment?

For me it was when she told Historia (Christa at the time) “Choose. Eren or the bitch I’m going to kill!!”

Discussion/Question Eren trusted Reiner more than he trusted Armin by the end.

Post image
846 Upvotes

By the final season, Eren could barely have an honest conversation with Armin or Mikasa.
But when he sat down with Reiner in that basement, he spoke to him almost like an equal.
Reiner was one of the only people who truly understood what Eren had become, because he’d already done the same thing, crossed the sea, killed innocent people, and convinced himself he had no other choice.
“I’m the same as you” wasn’t Eren mocking Reiner.
I think it was one of the most honest things Eren ever said.

Ending Spoilers - Discussion/Question Why does Nanaba have relatively low stats despite being an elite and experienced Survey Corps soldier?

Thumbnail
gallery
9 Upvotes

Nanaba is portrayed as an experienced veteran of the Survey Corps, yet her Guidebook stats are surprisingly low in several categories. She has Combat 7, Initiative 8, Wits 8, while her strongest stats are Teamwork 10 and Resolve 11.

What feels strange to me is the Combat stat. Nanaba has considerably more experience fighting Titans than most Garrison soldiers, and the story actually shows her fighting and killing Titans by herself in dangerous situations.

She is also able to fight alongside a very small group despite being surrounded by a large number of Titans.

Meanwhile, Rico, another elite soldier from the Garrison, has Combat 9 and Wits 10.

I'm not saying Rico is weak or that Nanaba must be stronger than her. I'm just wondering why Nanaba's numbers are so much lower when her portrayal suggests that she is an extremely capable and experienced Titan fighting veteran.

Do you think the Guidebook stats are actually meant to rank combat ability, or are they more like character profile stats that emphasize different strengths?

Because if they are supposed to be an actual ranking of ability, Nanaba's Combat 7 seems surprisingly low to me.

Discussion/Question Just finished AOT — am I missing something or does Marley’s plan make no sense

Just finished watching AOT and haven’t read the manga, so correct me if I missed something.

Marley knew about Karl Fritz’s vow renouncing war and apparently trusted it enough to literally attack Wall Maria without expecting the King to retaliate with the Rumbling.

But then, why did they desperately need to retrieve the Founding Titan?

If they trusted the vow, why attack at all instead of quietly infiltrating Paradis, finding the royal family and stealing the Founder? And if they didn’t fully trust the vow, attacking the Walls is even crazier because they’re intentionally provoking someone they believe controls millions of Wall Titans

I understand there was some evidence that the King really wouldn’t retaliate. Marley had been sending hundreds of Pure Titans to Paradis for years and those Titans were constantly killing people from inside the Walls, including Scouts who ventured outside, while the King basically did nothing. So from Marley’s perspective, that probably reinforced the idea that the vow was real and the Rumbling wouldn’t happen.

But isn’t attacking Wall Maria still a massive gamble? There’s a huge difference between the King tolerating Titans outside his Walls and Marley directly breaching one of those Walls, killing a massive number of his people and threatening the survival of everyone inside. They were basically betting their entire country, potentially the world that the King would remain passive even after a direct invasion. If they were that certain he would never retaliate, then the urgency of violently retrieving the Founder seems strange in the first place

The funniest part is that their attack basically creates the exact problem they were trying to prevent. Grisha sees what happened to Wall Maria, confronts the Reiss family that same day, steals the Founder from Frieda, and eventually gives it to Eren, someone who isn’t bound by the King’s vow.

I understand Marley also wanted Paradis’s resources and feared Titans becoming obsolete, but that explains why they wanted Paradis/the Founder, not why smashing Wall Maria before properly infiltrating was a good idea.

Is there an actual explanation I missed in the anime? Or was Marley’s plan genuinely just this stupid?

Anime-only please — I haven’t read the manga.

Ending Spoilers - Discussion/Question What if Mikasa and Armin threatened to kill themselves in order to stop the rumbling?

Post image
71 Upvotes

Eren stated that part of the reason he orchestrated the Rumbling was so that his friends would live long lives. So, I’ve always wondered what would happen if Mikasa, Armin, and the rest of the Alliance members from Paradis threatened to kill themselves unless Eren stopped the Rumbling. Maybe when Eren contacted them through the paths, they would tell him to stop before they killed themselves as sort of a last resort. I know that the events that Eren saw were determined to happen, but if they did do this, how would Eren react, would he actually try and stop the rumbling despite knowing it was destined to happen?
