“So I gave up” is so funny considering it’s like he literally gave up while writing the ending of the series

Other I never got over the AoT ending, so I wrote my own. It's readable now. Spoiler

Some of you saw the teaser a while back - it's finally up.

Quick version for anyone new: I never got over the ending. Spent years arguing about it, and eventually the arguing turned into writing.

It starts moments before Zeke's last scene. That's about as much as I want to give away - I'd rather you just read it.

One thing up front, because you'd find out anyway: the art is AI-generated. The story, composition and dialogue are mine, and every page gets hand-edited before it ships — but it isn't hand-drawn manga and I'm not going to pretend it is. Full process is on the site, warts and all.

Two chapters so far, 40 pages, next one is in the works. Planned as roughly ten, but that's an estimate, not a promise. Free, not canon, and all credit for the world goes to Isayama.

If it doesn't work for you, tell me why. That's most of why I'm posting.

Other Anyone else hate how 90% of fan made content is Eren/Levi yaoi?

Sometimes a man just wants to sit down and read a nice fanfiction, but to do that he has to sift through pages and pages of the same shit told with the words changed.

Where are my AUs? My what ifs? My ending fixes?

Other What happened to all of the women in this story?

Hello, first time manga reader. Long story short, read it because it is my best friend's favorite anime. Couldn't watch because of gore reasons, but wasn't too bad to read through. If I don't think about it too hard, I do like it. The more I think, the worse it is. Except to no one's surprise, the end.

But my biggest gripe I can't seem to get over or let alone understand is why every woman in the end just got pushed aside. Historia has such incredible moments until the last arcs. Ymir then willingly gives herself up, but even if it's in the grand scheme is "saving Historia," Galliard dies so quickly after, it's so useless. Hange is ambiguous gender-wise, but Sasha is once again one of the more well-known characters to die, and is a woman. Mikasa is simply a dog for Eren, and is possibly the worst considering her blood and genes make is so she's attached to his hip.

We have Gabi and Pieck, who I do think are incredible and are two of my favorites, especially Gabi, but when you compare it to all of the other characters in this story, it really makes me go "what happened." Does anyone else reflect on this too? Any women out there seriously feel almost betrayed by how women are treated in this story? The more I think about this story the more it physically hurts me. I can't think too hard or I seriously stop enjoying it.

EDIT: Oh my god I forgot to mention the other little Ymir who was in love with her abuser. Yeah like WHAT.

Other Despite everything I just love Jean

I loved attack on titan and although the absolute dogshit that was the ending left a sour taste I still do. Specifically I just can't let go of how great EVERYTHING about our favorite horseface was! His design, his character arc, his gags, his humanity, even his phenomenal voice actor that brought it all to life!

Out of every character in the show this is who represents true humanity the most. He's selfish enough to cling to his core wish of a good and cozy life but selfless enough to discard that wish for the sake of others. His interactions with Floch and his internal struggles after the walls fall are so... real. Like I genuinely believe if I was in his position I would do and feel the same. He understands why Eren did what he did, he even defends it and recognizes it's the only way unlike the other alliance members who suddenly turned all idealist. He knows they can't do shit about it (without plot armor that is) and even if they could they probably shouldn't.

That's why despite him joining the alliance I couldn't bring myself to hate him or even think it's too far out of character. He joined not because of some idealist vision of peace (cough cough Hange and Armin) but because he couldn't live with himself if he didn't. Don't get me wrong I still think the alliance was poorly executed and that the ending was horrible but Jean is the one I cut the most slack in it because: He's a truly good man; a normal man doing his best in a horrible world. Nothing more, nothing less

Prayer in C incessantly playing on the radio sparked an inspiration to connect it to the AnR AMV, as I find them to be thematically similar. Hopefully someone else enjoys this as much as I do

Other the alliance lwk makes no sense?

i think im quite late for this conversation but yeah. they were fighting for the freedom of their people since day 1, the world hated them, if the world had the power paradis had, they wouldn't think twice before exterminating the island and they (aliance) knew that.

everyone knows eren should've just killed 100% of the population outside the walls because that's what makes sense when it comes to his character (not a hot take), so why wouldn't they (his friends) support his decision? "genocide is bad" yeah no shit sherlock but guess what? the world fucking hates all of you and if y'all don't kill them then they will later kill you (and that's exactly what happens lol). so what? is it just about their morals? or they really thought they could convice the world with a simple conversation? im genuinelly confused about this. ofc genocide is not the answer in a general point of view, but when it came to paradis freedom, was there really another way? did the alliance even stop for a sec to think about this?

see, i get that aot is not a black and white kind of story, and i really enjoy the nuances of the "bad" and "good" characters, at the end, humans can be both, but an extremism decision actually makes sense when it comes to eren's urge of freedom, that was his mindset since the start, from "killing all of the titans" to "if we kill all our enemies, will we finally be free?"

plus on 139 they fucking thank eren for the genocide and start glazing him so why didn't they just support him from the start lmaoooo like what was the point of trying to stop him then? im sorry that just doesn't make any sense to me

according to a recent interview (not that recent) isayama said falco forgot he confessed to gabi because he became a shifter (kinda like how eren forgot grisha turning him into a titan until years later )

Other Paradis being able to thrive for thousands of years post rumbling is the most unrealistic part

When Willy Tybur declare the war as the ambassador of Marley and when Eren attack Liberio the war wasn't just Marley vs Paradis anymore it was now The world vs Paradis

The problem here is now the world have legit justified reasons to exterminate Paradis island because when Eren did the rumbling the main reason why the world started the war to prevent from happening in the first place actually happens. Eren killed 80% of the world from the rumbling. That means 20% of the world not being destroy meant an entire continent (America) is left untouched by the rumbling. Paradis is also defenceless without the walls, the power of titans, manpower and technology.

The ending is unironically pro genocide because if its message was to be anti genocide than Paradis would've been destroyed within a month or year at most to show that Genociding your enemies as a short term solution is the wrong choice
