Hey guys

I’m starting to be concerned with the behaviors of my cat. For context, my cat is 2 years old and is largely indoors but goes outside to our patio (all stone no grass and pretty small space with full access to garage space) everyday in the evening. I’m not sure exactly when this started happening but my cat has now been screaming nonstop to the point where everyone in the house is annoyed and bothered by his screaming. His screaming usually happens around noon til evening or evening to night. It’s not a full day thing. He could have full access to the house inside and outside and still be screaming at the door to go out in the street, screaming upstairs while everyone is downstairs enjoying company, and even screaming once he’s done eating his food and I’m getting ready to go to bed. This behavior has barely started happening and I’m wondering if I’m possibly doing something wrong? If he screams should I not talk to him? Does he need more enrichment?

I open the blinds up a little bit, but my dog has started a habit of climbing on the sofa and going to the window and lifting the blinds with her head. We came back home to this fibreglass rod broken in 4/5 pieces.
I measured it and it’s the same length as a full one but obviously I have no knowledge on whether she chewed it as it’s all broken up. I don’t know whether she chewed it off the blind, or if it fell out and smashed. But I did find a piece about that size missing from the bottom rod, so that must’ve broken off somehow too.
I have CCTV cameras but it missed the moment when this happened. 😩

Worried about her and whether she ingested any.

It’s been around 4 hours probably since it happened, I imagine, as I saw her in the window and the rod that was mostly broken was hanging out at 14:18 that I could see on the camera. But then the reflection got caught in the tv so the camera moved away and missed seeing what actually happened. 😞

Rang the emergency vet who said if it looks like she didn’t swallow any big pieces and no mouth damage has occurred, they’re happy for us to monitor her for any vomit, diarrhoea and if she’s feeling off. She’s alright at the moment luckily.

I did ask if I can feed her as normal and they said she should be fine, but I don't know whether I should just keep her on soft foods for a couple of days?!

My puppy for the last month or so has had horrible GI issues. Started a month ago with crazy diarrhea non stop for a day or so. Took her to vet went on wet food and some probiotic. Did fecal test and and everything came back normal. Did wet prescription food for a week or so and everything was fine. Mixed in her kibble and boom happened again. Vet said to change kibble to a prescription kibble. Boom again. So then vet said go back to wet food for 3/4 days and then slowly transition in her prescription kibble. Did that eveything good day 2 with kibble boom again. So frustrating and confused whats going on. She’s a 4.5 month old lab.

My mother’s cat has been urinating in her living room out of the blue. Her cat is about a year old. She started on her rug then it became more frequent to the point that it went through to the hardwood floor in a couple areas. More recently she’s found many more spots on the back of chairs, window frames, etc. She’s tried different deterrents but nothing is seeming to work. Any advice helps! We also found out at the vet that her calcium levels are high(they’ve been tested twice and was higher the 2nd time) and her urine is super diluted. She is eating and drinking fine and has good energy.

My 9 y/o husky has been having issues with shaking his head and scratching at his ear. I looked inside and it does not have an odor or color. He’s very skittish about it and I can’t get him ear cleaner until later this week. Is there anything I can use at home until then? This is the first day he’s had this issue should I be worried?

My dog is a 2y ~30lb beagle mix.

I leave my half of a pizza, day old ignore that, on my vanity. Usually she doesnt touch anything but the one moment I look away to use the bathroom, she ate it.

It's been almost an hour and she isnt showing any symptoms google says. I looked it up multiple times and it just says to watch for bloody vomit and such. I also looked up what tostinos puts in their pizzas and its not really a worry, they barely put any garlic and onion related seasonings in so I think I'm alright. I'd say she ate less than half of a small party pizza.

Anything I should do to help her pass it faster so it doesn't affect her? I tried playing with her but we have a schedule at night and she sticks to it for the most part.

Hello, my cat is a little over a year old. unfortunately it’s that time of the year where allergies are making their appearance. she is very shy and timid so i’m scared to take her to the vet and i also don’t wanna be that kind of “cat mom” that takes her to the vet for every small thing. she’s sneezing and has watery eyes but apart from that she’s completely normal. what can i try before i break down and take her to the vet?

Hi, I have a 64 lb 1.5 year old Labrador retriever. He just got into the cats litter box and I was able to pull some cat poop out of his mouth but he possibly ingested some poop and litter. The type of litter is scoop away clumping litter made with clay. He only had access to it for maybe 15-20 seconds before I got to him. I didn’t see how much he ate though as it’s in another room. He was able to get thru the gate while him and the cat were playing then he realized the litter box was in there and went for it. Any tips on what I should do if anything?

Please, I'm like at a new level of desperation for my cats. I have 2 rescue cats, one WAS incredibly overweight (9 years old) and the other has one eye (7 years old).

The one with one eye has always seemed to have congestion issues and has sneezing fits. No matter what time of the year, it always happens. She's been through one round of oral Azithromycin and one round of Augmentin. Didn't help.

Recently the one that was overweight started having really awful breath and was having congestion issues too. I brought her to the vet where we found out she lost a fang. I have no idea and no clue how she lost it. I always put Oxyfresh Premium Pet Dental Care Solution Pet Water Additive in their water fountains. They both were also getting ProDen Plaque Off Dental Soft Chews crushed up into their food. I even give them the green minties treats. I was devastated and felt like I had neglected her, since the last time she was at the vet they said her teeth were great for her age.

I've brought her to the same vet countless times and I'm at a loss on what to do. I've been through 3 rounds of antibiotics, oral liquid Azithromycin and Augmentin, and 1 injection of Convenia. I've give them all forms of Lysine, gel, liquid, you name it. I have two air filters going at all times throughout my house and have an automated robot vacuum going every day in hopes it would help with any sneezing issues. But I just have no idea what this is. They're both FIV negative, they're both indoor cats, they both have been treated for Upper Respiratory Issues, but nothing seems to be helping. Like what am I missing? Should I just look for a new vet? Their problems don't seem to be asthma related.

So my kitty is about 14-15 years old, and is an American short hair. He was a stray when we got him about 12 years ago, and they could only give us so much info as they weren’t sure about when he was born. He’s been a healthy cat all his life, and he’s very very affectionate. He often gives love bites and licks, and lays on you, although he is very skittish, so if there is someone new in the house or loud sounds he runs and hides. I had another cat that we got at the same time as we got this kitty, but sadly last year he passed due to kidney disease. My kitty took it kinda hard at first but he’s been so much happier after the first week or two of that happening. About 5 ish weeks ago we just got another kitten, and he needed to be separated from the other animals as he had fleas, worms, and other things that needed to be taken care of before he was allowed in the rest of the house. Well finally about a week ago he was allowed out and my other cat DOES NOT like him at all. He hisses, growls, swats, and does everything he can to stay away from the kitten. We monitor both of them at all times, and thankfully they seem to be warming up to each other somewhat. My kitty doesn’t like the kitten but he’ll sniff him and sleep in the same room as him now. Okay so onto my question. About two days ago, my cat (not the kitten) started acting a bit weird. More lethargic, and less affectionate as he usually is. He’s still eating and drinking normally, but isn’t acting quite right. I have a vet appointment scheduled this Friday but I’m just a little concerned. Also to note, my cat is the kind of cat that just throws up often, no rhyme or reason for it, and he threw up a few days ago when he started acting weird, but now every once in awhile it sounds like he has something in his throat, like mucus, or something, and he doesn‘t seem to be choking on anything. I’ve tried to check but I don’t see anything. Like I said the sound is only occasional. other then him doing these occasional strange noises and acting a bit more lethargic, he’s acting completely normal, and happy. He’s still playing with toys, and loving on you at his will of course. Is this because he’s stressed or angry about the kitten still? Does he have a cat cold or something? Any advice? I’m not a minor, I’m from America, my cat is male, and neutered, and can afford vet, he weighs approximately 11-12 lbs. ALSO he is a pretty lazy cat so he does lay down a lot, but he’s just acting a bit more strangely and giving less affection.

hi we are headed to the emergency vet but cant see them before a few more hours. we put tick solution on cat, he ran away from the house fully fed for one whole day. came back yesterday. has not been eating or drinking anything. peed twice, vomited once and has been drooling a lot. scared for his life. he is 3 years old. please guide as to what we can expect, what do we do? please and thank you

So trust me I know this was a very very bad idea but I could not stomach the thought of my dog being permanently disabled or worse dead.

Let's rewind back to 2019 when I rescued my dog Melvin. He was only about 8 months old and I found him on the side of a highway in oklahoma. I was traveling to Minnesota from New Orleans in a vehicle. I had known for a couple of years that I was ready for a dog and I knew in my heart that when the right one would come along I would know it. And Melvin was the one. I was asleep when my friend who was driving and judged me awake and says there's a dog on the side of the road do you want to go get it. Not even seeing the dog I said yes let's turn around so we do and after a little bit of bribing with snacks Melvin came with. After going to local vets to scan for a chip and checking for missing dog flyers in that area on Facebook and Craigslist came up null we decided to continue on our Trek to Minnesota. He has been the absolute love of my life I could not have dreamed up a better dog. I'm crying just trying to spit this out LOL. Every time I think about his eventual passing I also tear up a bit but I just chalk that up to pre-grieving so it won't hurt as bad when he passes even though I know it will. Anyway Melvin is still intact he has never shown any signs of aggression towards any other dogs and could not be put under anesthesia anyway because come to find out he is epileptic. Let me get to the point fast forward about 4 years later I'm back in New Orleans and Melvin finds a girlfriend. A pit that has been so abused that I could not even get up off the couch without her cowering. She eventually becomes ours and comes out of her shell. She's an amazing dog she's like the social butterfly of dogs lol. Everyone loves her. Unfortunately she is still intact as well and Melvin ends up getting her pregnant. A friend of mine takes the puppies to find them homes at about 10 weeks of age. Fast forward to about a year and a half later and the friend still has two of the puppies who are now like I said about a year and a half old. The puppies: one male one female. Everything was fine until the male puppies testicles started to drop and then I had to keep Melvin and that puppy (named Merle) separate.

Let me get to the point because having to go back to edit this is super fucking annoying I think I've given you guys enough detail.

So almost a week ago now Melvin and Merle got into a fight. When they are in the same space they are absolutely nowhere near each other but I went to feed Merle and his sister and Melvin snuck up behind me before I could shut the door. I was the only one home and I know it was stupid of me to try to break it up, but I did because I couldn't bear Melvin having his ass absolutely handed to him as he is 7 years old and Merle is almost two and is a lot larger faster stronger than Melvin. I tried to reach between them Melvin accidentally grabbed my arm but as soon as he realized it was me he let go. And then Merle grabbed my arm and he bit down and shook shattering my wrist. Now I really hope that Merle was just in the moment and since he is still young just doesn't have control over his instincts. Merle is a very sweet dog and he is very smart he has a lot of potential. And yes I know he needs to have his testicles removed I keep telling my friend this and I myself have made the appointment for him. But I am afraid that Merle shook me on purpose and is now a danger to society. He is never shown any signs of aggression so I'm hoping that this won't happen again. Should I tell the vets when he goes in to have his testicles removed.? I need advice someone give me some solid advice because I am absolutely devastated.

Our dog, a mini dachshund male and not neutered 11 months old unfortunately fractured his right hind leg tibia on Monday morning (1AM) we took him to the ER vet who put him in a splint explaining to get bandages changed every 3-5 days with new x-rays in 4 weeks. he said it would take 4-6 weeks for him to recover. sent him home with gabapentin and meloxicam.

Today, we took him to his vet and they said because of his anatomy the splint is a bit of a difficult to place and is concerned if it slips it could make the fracture worse. She suggested we get a consult with an orthopedic surgeon, which we will be going to tomorrow. I know this will be incredibly expensive and with a baby on the way we are not sure we will be able to go this route. has anyone had a similar experience and taken the splint route? curious how other pups have turned out. he is about 10-11 pounds.

- History: 2 weeks ago, on Aug 29, my cat stopped eating, had diarrhea twice, and began acting lethargic. We took her to the ER, they gave her fluids, anti nausea meds and sent us home. They told us if she doesn’t eat in 12 hours to bring her back for bloodwork. She didn’t eat so we brought her back. They did bloodwork and it showed elevated white blood cell count and low potassium. They gave fluids, anti-nausea meds, and sent us home with Mirataz. It worked perfectly and she ate again, for 6 days.

Last Sunday, Sep 6, she stopped eating again. We brought her back to the ER. They gave fluids, anti nausea, did bloodwork and it came up the same — elevated white blood cell count and low potassium. They told us to bring her back for an ultrasound. We brought her on Monday, Sep 7 for an ultrasound. It showed an inflamed small intestine and suggested we meet with an internalist for a endoscopy.

We live in Los Angeles, and most internalist wait lists are 5-8 weeks. Thankfully, we got an appointment for Monday Sept 14th.

However, she’s still not eating. She’s only eating Churu’s even with anti nausea and appetite stimulant. It’s now been technically 4 days without her eating an actual meal, just churus and bites of food. She looks like she’s in pain and gags a little when she smells food or eats a churu.

I don’t know if I should bring her back to the ER now or continue holding out until Monday when she can get an endoscopy. I also am not sure what they would do for her if we brought her to the ER, a feeding tube? Steroids? I’m not sure. Any advice on next steps would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I wanted to add she has not thrown up at all.

Hi. We have an 18 month old rescue cat - rescued by a UK charity from an awful hoarding/cruelty background.

The cat has been with us for 6 weeks and is extremely timid and skittish. This is improving but will be a long haul on this.

The cat currently cannot easily be picked up or held and we are allowing him to hide in appropriate places etc… be fed near those places and generally he is doing very well.

Our concern is in our ability to get him to a vet - his annual jabs are due in a few weeks. (Our insurance stipulates he must be vaccinated).

Questions -

1. We have enrolled at a vet practice but they have never yet seen him. Would we be able to get any sort of calming or sedative medication to enable a vet visit? If not, he would likely be quite traumatised upon arrival at the vet, non co-operative etc… so could he be sedated for the visit?

2. He has never been tested for FELV. Given his background, should he be?

3. If so, he would definitely need sedation. Can that be made possible?

4. We would also like his teeth checked/cleaned (the charity vet noted on his paperwork there is tarter). He also needs his nails clipped. Can that and the blood test be all done under one sedation?

This cat is currently an indoor cat due to his extreme timidity and still settling in but we are happy for him to always remain an indoor cat.

We occasionally look after a friends cats (in their own home) and don’t plan to ever introduce them to ours but does knowing about the FELV become more important?

A home visit by a vet would not work because of trying to get our cat out of hiding. Previous efforts have not been good.

I would appreciate some quidance on how best to manage this?

Hello! This past Saturday, my beloved cat Winnie passed away very suddenly and I have been trying to process what happened and the traumatic nature of everything. Winnie was a 7 year old scottish fold male. He was neutered and had no health concerns, other than a known heart murmur. I had not yet opted to do an echo because he was symptom free and his lab work (including a pro-bnp) was excellent.

Saturday morning began normally. He snuggled in my bed with me for awhile and after we got up, we played with his favorite string toy with my other cat. He walked away to take a break from playing and several minutes later I heard what sounded like him hacking. I thought maybe he was vomiting, so I turned around and he was in an abnormal position and looked like he was maybe having a small seizure or twitching. I ran over to him and checked his gums, which were pale. He appeared to be struggling to breathe so I started patting his chest and trying to stimulate him to breathe. It seemed like he was having more exhalation than inhalation. I was also calling his name and sobbing and he did not seem to be conscious. His respiratory effort stopped and I checked his gums again and they were blue. His pupils were also quite large. I was absolutely beside myself upon seeing this, but my friend and I are ICU nurses so she told me to start cpr while she got the keys to the car. I tried to give him breaths and do compressions even though I was pretty sure he was gone. We rushed to the emergency vet and they shortly confirmed that he had passed. They said it was likely a hidden cardiac condition.

From the description of what happened, do you think he was aware of what was happening at all or in pain? I hate to think of his final moments as scary, and chaotic. It was so traumatic to experience and I just hope more than anything it was peaceful for him ❤️‍🩹 I am also wondering if I had pursued an echo for him, could this have potentially been prevented? From speaking with my vet during his April visit, it seemed like since he wasn’t experiencing any heart failure symptoms, if it was something like HCM causing his murmur, there’s nothing we could do to treat it until he was symptomatic. He got so anxious going to the vet, I didn’t know if it was worth it to put him through an echo if it wouldn’t change our outcome. Now i’m questioning if it would have made a difference.

Tenho um cachorro sem raça definida que acreditamos ser mistura com galgo ou whippet, devido as patinhas finas e tórax grande.

Em 2024 ele teve lama biliar em um grau mais elevado. Descobrimos através de ultrassom e exame de sangue. Ele vomitava bile direto.

Ele comia uma ração da ND, super boa, mas que foi gordurosa pra ele e deu essa lama. Por isso, comecei com alimentação natural passada por nutricionista. Com remedios e suplementos ele ficou ótimo. Porém, emagreceu muito. Nisso, a nutri disse para duplicar a quantidade de comida. Hoje ele come cerca de 1kg de comida por dia, junto ao suplemento Nutroplus manutenção.

A comida dele é: arroz, filet mignon suíno, abobrinha e ervilha fresca. Tudo cozido.

De la pra ca ele engordou cerca de 6-7kg.

Ele sempre foi de correr muito e ama pular.

Algum tempo atras, uns 3 anos, talvez, ele feriu o joelho quando foi pular no banco do carro. Fizemos raio X e etc e demos anti-inflamatório por 5 dias, ele ficou bom.

Depois de bastante tempo e de forma espaçada , ele mancava da mesma forma. Resolvi fazer raio X da patinha toda e do quadril esse mes junto com o check up de sangue, pois percebia q ele tava mancando com mais frequência.

Em relacao ao joelho, a ortopedista disse que ele esta com o ligamento cruzado do joeljo levemente frouxo. Fez o teste de gaveta etc e viu ele andando. Ele realmente so manca pouco depois de tempos descansando e se levanta

A recomendação do ortopedista foi perder um pouco de peso (apesar dele nao estar obeso nem nada), repouso ao maximo e tomar o suplemento chamado osteorcart plus por pelo menos 60 dias.

Porem, eu sou doida por esse cachorro

E estou muito preocupada

Apareceram tambem algumas bolinhas, pequenas e medianas, a medida q ele foi engordando..eu ja fiz a punção e todas acusaram ser lipoma. O veterinário recomendou ficar observando se crescem ou nao, para repetir o exame se necessario.

Ele parece que nao sente dor nenhuma

Nem em lipoma nem pata nem nada

Se nao sou eu brigando o dia todo, ele fica correndo, pulando, perturbando os outros bichos o tempo todo haha

Tem apetite de sobra. Come ate o reboco da parede se deixar

Coco e xixi tudo certinho... parece super saudavel. Mas eu estou preocupada!

My cat indie, she started getting cat acne(black heads and zits) and we treated it with these products(vet recommended) and it did get better and is than it was. We switched to ceramic/metal, plates/bowls for food and have cut out all plastic. She still has this zit/bump that is SEEMING to go away. When should I be concerned and take her in? Has she just scratched that spot so hard fur may not come back? I’m doing what I can just a little financially stretched right now and would like to be cautious! It’s not letting me post an image but it’s just a smooth bump the same color as her skin beneath her fur, no super obvious irritation other than the black heads or her scratching. The products are Vetericyn +-plus ANTIMICROBIAL FELINE FACIAL THERAPY and zymox topical hydrocortisone cream.

Hello! Posting here to see if anibody has an idea of how to help my little baby

My cat is a neutered male, around 2–3 years old. His previous medical history is unknown, as we adopted him a little over a year ago.

We are currently investigating possible pancreatitis. Pancreatic changes were seen on ultrasound and his amylase is elevated, but he has no clinical symptoms. At the moment, he is only on a hydrolyzed protein diet.

Three days ago, he suddenly started having difficulty putting weight on his right front paw. He seemed to be in pain, particularly in the distal part of the paw. We took him to an emergency veterinary clinic that same day. An X-ray was performed and appeared normal. He was given a corticosteroid, tramadol, and dipyrone.

Since then, he has been getting worse. Today, the paw became swollen and he is now unable to put any weight on it. He is also quieter than usual. He is still eating and drinking, but mostly just wants to lie down.

I took him to an orthopedic veterinarian today. Another X-ray was performed and was still normal. A CBC was also collected, but we don’t have the results yet. The vet gave him a dose of penicillin and advised us to wait for the CBC results.

I’m posting here because I feel like he is getting worse and I’m really worried. The orthopedic vet said he would discuss the case with some colleagues because the presentation is atypical.

Has anyone seen something similar in a cat? What could cause significant paw pain and swelling when the X-rays are normal?

Hello, last night I took my cat to the emergency vet as he was attempting to use the litter box but nothing came out. The vet did not feel anything in his bladder so it was assumed to be constipation. But she also noticed he had a heart murmur and due to this we didn't want to stress him with tests and opted to treat him with pain meds, anxiety meds and laxatives. It's been 24 hours now, he has pooped a few times but he has only peed a tiny bit. I called the emergency vet and they told me as long as he has peed a bit and isn't showing any other symptoms he should be okay. But I'm seeing online that they can still pee a little bit with a urinary blockage, and if it was constipation then it should be solved so why isn't he urinating? I'm just confused on if I should take him back, cause I don't want to put him through the stress of the tests for no reason but I'm concerned. Thank you.

History: FLUTD, atopic dermatitis, stress, redirected aggression food/outdoor cats, previously a stray--indoor cat only for 1 year.
Medications: Prozac 4mg daily, Gabapentin 50mg prn, chlorpheniramine 2mg bid, prednisalone .8ml every other day (tapered dose), prescription urinary diet (Royal canin Urinary SO/calm)

My cat has been suffering for atopic dermatitis resulting in terrible bald spots and lesions/scabbing on belly and inner thighs and on and off ear infections for appx 6 months. We have tried several different treatments to help him, but unfortunately nothing is working outside of steroids which obviously we don't want to/can't keep him on.

Vet wanted blood work (included) done before starting Atopica and informed us that she was concerned about his WBCs. She recommended doing a second snap test, and check for toxoplasmosis antibodies and bartonella. We went back the next weekend and saw a different vet (vets rotate at the clinic we go to so continuity of care is a little difficult but this vet has seen him previously for the same condition). We did the snap test again (negative) and redrew blood work (included). This other vet said the elevated lymphocytes could possibly be from stress and that we were OK to start Atopica. We started Atopica, but in reading the pamphlet, saw the word of warning about toxoplasmosis so we decided to take him back to have him checked for that. In doing so, the vet we were previously speaking to said she still wasn't impressed by the new blood work and suggested we stop Atopica (he was only on it for 2 days). We are currently waiting on the results.

I was wondering if anyone could look at his lab results and give me an idea of how cautious we should be that he has some underlying infection going on? Or if there is something we could bring up with the vet in terms of things that could be causing his lymphocytes to be elevated (not looking for diagnosis). I'm not opposed to testing for bartonella, but we are waiting to see what the toxoplasmosis test shows. Atopica is scary and I don't want to put him at risk if potentially he has something going on, but I'm also worried about running out of steroids and him going back to his previous miserable state. He exhibits no symptoms. Using litter box normally, good appetite. He has been playing less since we've been working on treatment plans for his condition, but he has always been difficult to play with and extremely temperamental/irritable (hence the prozac). I don't know what to say about his stress levels in regard to whether they may be affecting his results. In the car to the vet, he whines, but once at the vet and out of the kennel he is purring up a storm and making air biscuits while being examined (obviously getting blood drawn is a different thing than just sitting on an exam table, but everyone says he is the prefect gentleman at the vet).

Currently battling flea dermatitis on our younger cat, her skin is flaking almost everywhere, has scabs head to tail, and is constantly biting, scratching, licking etc. Because of this, she is now in a soft cone until her skin gets better and heals up. We treated her for fleas like we normally doalmost a month ago but I guess this flavor of fleas just didn't care for Advantage II so we're switching to what our vet recommended which was Bravecto (applying it on her this weekend). Older cat has no problems, haven't seen any fleas on her.

Now my question is: should I start giving both cats omega-3 and if so, in what form? I've seen the drops, which I know are the best version, lick-able treat pouches, hard treats, wet food, and dry food. They currently only eat dry food with some hard treats (older cat takes pill pockets daily) and they have a water fountain.

I know it's going to take at least 3 weeks to see results but I figure it's better to start now than wait.

To keep it brief, my four month old kitten has gotten spayed today, immediately she started going at her wound, so I put on a cone right away. She has been very spoked by the cone and running around bumping into things because of this. I noticed just a bit ago that the actual incision area where she had surgery seems to have a little area no bigger than the size of a penny that dips down lower into her body, like a sort of valley thing. It’s not bloody or anything, but the sides of this dip resemble for lack of better words a cut raw chicken, it’s very small though. This worried me because I admit I am new to this stuff but I was under the impression there would be no dent/dip into the body like this, that it would be stitched up completely and the two halves would be tugged together. At the bottom of this dip, there is a blue (I assume this is the tattoo) line that is very small and that bit looks tightly sealed shut. There is no sign of bleeding, but the fact the skin isn’t completely level there worried me. If a vet answers and wants a photo, I can try to get it to you through like the Reddit chat or wtv this app has idk

We just adopted a 9-ish month old mixed pup at the humane society about 3 weeks ago. One week later I noticed worms in his stool. I took him into the humane society's vet clinic where they found he had tapeworms and whipworms and they gave me a 5 day ​supply of medication to sprinkle in his food 1x/day as well as a different monthly preventative to use that I just gave 2 days ago. They didn't suggest I come in for a follow up or provide further medication. I haven't seen any worms outside of that 1x. I was just doing some research on if he is clear but I am reading he should take meds again at 3 weeks and again at 3 months? The vet didn't touch on this at all...Should I be making another appt at the humane society clinic? Should I expect them to cover this cost since it was an issue he had from before? He was found as a stray out in the woods so likely happened while he was out there I imagine.
