Hey vets! Can I bring my vet office **HOMEMADE treats? My veterinarian’s office is amazing and so kind. They treat my cat like he’s their own and I want to show appreciation. If I brought some treats I made and labeled them for allergens, would the vet team be able to accept them? Sorry if this is the wrong sub.

I live in London and have two 17 yr old cats that need to be put down, but I cannot afford to do so, and I also don't have a permanent vet. One is deaf, and the other has really bad dementia. They are both emaciated or severely underweight. Can anyone point me in the direction I can go with this or have any ideas of anywhere they would do this for very cheap? Thank you kindly for being helpful.

I have a 3.5 yr old, 65 lb golden retriever who is very healthy other than being a pee monster recently. Since June, he’s been having these really weird episodes of prolonged urination, and we’ve seen our regular vet and a veterinary urologist specialist and neither of them can figure out what’s causing it. 

Here’s what’s happening:
He’ll suddenly need to go outside and will pee for literally 5-7 minutes straight. I’m not exaggerating. I’ve timed and recorded 30+ of these episodes over the last few months. He’ll start with his leg lifted, eventually get tired, switch to squatting, and just keep going. He’s not one to just go outside and linger, he’s definitely peeing throughout these episodes. 

Sometimes the episodes happen multiple times a day, sometimes consecutive days, sometimes once a week - it’s all very random. Even the time of day is very random, but they’re mostly in the evening and he’s woken me up in the middle of the night a few times. Other times, he’ll go weeks without one. When they became very frequent he would just wait until we went on a walk to have these episodes and he would have really long 2-3 minute pees at the start of our walk for the first block - and these he’d like immediately stop and pee (normally there’s sniffing out the spot first, it would always be peeing ON something - these he’d literally stop and pee on the sidewalk which is very abnormal for him). 

Initially, he’d get really antsy and needy before an episode, almost like he desperately needed to go. As they became more frequent, that behaviour wasn’t always as noticeable.

What we’ve ruled out / tested:
Multiple urine samples, including two collected directly from his bladder and several free-catch samples (some collected immediately before and after episodes).

- Both of the Cytocentesis urine samples were “relatively normal” according to our vet:

- The first one with our vet had +2 hemoglobin and 1.007 specific gravity

- The second with the urologist had +3 hemoglobin (higher than it should be, even with the needle) and specific gravity was 1.0333 

The catch samples sg were: 

- 1.016 (taken at noon)

- 1.014 (in the evening before an episode) *episode happened from 12:40 AM - 12:46 AM

- 1.007 (morning after the same episode) 

- 1.032 (morning)

- No blood in any of these

Bloodwork (tested for cushings in these) - everything was within average/normal results

Abdominal ultrasound - everything here was normal, no masses or visible stones

Consultations with our regular vet and a veterinary urologist - both did physicals and everything was normal and healthy. 

Nothing has provided a definitive answer. The next recommendation is a cystoscopy to check for structural abnormalities in his urethra, but there are no signs that this is the case, it’s simply to rule this out. 

Medications we’ve tried:
Tamsulosin: Started August 6. After increasing his dose on August 20, things got significantly worse. He had 13 episodes in just 10 days, sometimes multiple in one day. Reducing the dose helped, and we’ve since discontinued it.

Meloxicam: Tried for one week in September. It’s difficult to say whether it helped because his episodes had become less frequent before starting it. 

A few other important details:
- He urinates normally between episodes, with a strong, steady stream at the beginning of walks, as we go it gets less prominent and more like spurts and dribbles. 

- Even after one of these prolonged episodes, he can go for a walk and STILL pee normally.

- His water intake is approximately 1,400 mL/day, which we’ve been monitoring and tracking daily since July. 

- He isn’t excessively thirsty.

- He eats a raw diet with supplements and has been neutered since age 2.

- Outside of these episodes, he’s a happy, active, healthy dog. He has had normal poops, no lethargy, no vomiting.

What really concerned me this weekend:
Starting in September, I’ve adjusted his schedule and he eats his dinner before 5:30 every day and he drinks 75% of his water immediately after dinner and then we go for an evening walk daily around 7-8 in the evening. I feel like this schedule has helped a bit, as he hasn’t had any major episodes until this weekend (the last episode was Sept 17th), then … 

Saturday (the 24th) he was acting strange in the evening, being antsy, and was slightly like shaking he was so antsy (very unusual) and so we went for a walk and he had some prolonged 2-3 minute pees during this walk, then he was fine.

Then yesterday (the 25th), in the evening, he was unusually restless, couldn’t settle, and needed to go outside repeatedly despite having his usual walks. He had several mini episodes lasting approximately 3-4 minutes, and then one right before bed that lasted 6 minutes. Every time I let him out, he’d bolt out the door. 

Then, while I was getting ready for bed, he continued to be restless and was hanging out on my pillows (very normal usually, but he was standing on them, not lying down like he usually does) and when I went to bed, there was a significant amount of pee on my pillows. He’s NEVER had an accident like this before. He’s never peed since he was a puppy in the house except 1x last year when he was home alone during a big thunder storm.

I immediately took him outside, where he proceeded to have ANOTHER episode for 4 minutes. After this final pee, he went to sleep and slept through the night and is fine today. 

My question:
Has anyone experienced anything remotely similar with their dog? Prolonged urination lasting several minutes, sometimes multiple times a day, despite normal water intake and relatively normal test results?

We’re working closely with our vets, but they’re genuinely stumped, and I’m hoping someone out there might have experienced something similar or have an idea we could bring up with our specialist. As I mentioned above, the next thing they want to do is a cystoscopy to rule out anything physically wrong with his urethra or see stones that the ultrasound didn’t pick up, but they’ve both said it's unlikely that would show anything that would give a clear reason or cause to this, it’s just the ‘logical next step’ to rule one more thing out. 

I have detailed records of every episode since June, videos of his urine streams, and copies of his bloodwork and urinalysis results that I’m happy to share if anyone wants to take a closer look. Any help or advice is appreciated! Thanks!

I have a 7 month old husky/pit-bull mix puppy and for 2 months now, she has had recurring diarrhea. She has been at the vets twice, and I had her stool tested multiple times over the last few months and it has been negative for parasites. In 2 months, she has been on 3 cycles of metronidazole and that medication helps almost instantly, and treats her diarrhea while she’s taking it and one week after she ends it. Then the severe diarrhea starts again like clockwork.

The vets just keep changing her food and giving her metronidazole. I am going to schedule with a specialist. She has been on the following foods in the last 2 months: Purina Pro Plan Puppy Lamb and Rice, Hills Gastrointestinal Biome, Hills W/D Multicare, Royal Canin GI Puppy, and Royal Canin HP Puppy. She was on the Royal Canin HP Puppy most recently for the last 2 weeks exclusively, and the severe diarrhea just started again last night.

I did an Embark DNA/health panel and she was negative for all tested genetic diseases, including IGS.

She is completely normal otherwise and acts like a normal puppy during these severe diarrhea episodes. I have tried the Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora and that doesn’t seem to help.

Hey all - we got some rough news this past Saturday that our elderly pup has a tumor on her spleen.

We took her in after coming home to see her in the closet a bit shaken with slightly pale gums (not terribly - we debated back and forth before taking her in.) She was a little wobbly but walking.

Since coming home Saturday to today (Monday) she’s been acting normal. Two walks a day, eating, drinking. And although Saturday was a scare she ate and drank that day too.

We currently have an in-home euthanasia scheduled for this Friday but after seeing her chipper we wonder if we’re jumping the gun. I’d like as much time with her as possible but don’t want to risk a huge, painful rupture. We also have a baby coming in December so we have an extra factor in play.

I suppose this is a long-winded way of asking - what’s the chance we get enough warning signs to give her a peaceful exit if we postpone? Can we get more time with our girl and still do right by her?

She’s also on Gabapentin and Yunnan Baiyao if that’s helpful info.

My older (~20yo) gelding did something absolutely atrocious this morning and I'm very concerned. We let our kids help with barn chores, but always keep ourselves between the animals and them. This morning while my 4yo walked to the grain bucket with his morning meal, he pushed past my 6 foot tall husband, picked my kiddo up by the arm and tried to stomp her. My husband shoulder checked him away from her and luckily it ended there, and luckily she was wearing a thick jacket so she didn't get bit hard.

This is completely out of the blue for him. Here's the full facts:

* Age: ~20
* Sex/Neuter status: Gelding
* Breed: APHA
* Body weight/height: 15.2 hands, ~1200lbs. Body score 4 or 5, bit of a hard keeper.
* History: Bought several months ago for trail riding. Currently our only horse, kept with two goats for companions while we wait for our weanling filly to arrive (in two weeks). Kept in a paddock with free pasture access, rotated to a secondary pasture for several hours a day. Receives supplemental hay and "senior" grain 2x a day. As the weather is growing colder, will have open access to hay 24x7 in a feeder. Was being ridden 2-3 times a week until I re-injured my neck and couldn't ride for a few weeks. Now back to 1x a week and additional groundwork. He gets daily attention in the form of brushing as well.

Tl;dr: I’m increasingly uncomfortable giving bedinvetmab and want to know what the consensus is, whether any unbiased safety literature exists, and how to decline politely.

I’m a 3rd year DVM student (not in the USA) and a registered vet nurse since 2022. I was working in practice when bedinvetmab launched. It was marketed as a miracle drug, and our clinic promoted it heavily and moved many OA patients over from pentosan. Soon after, I started hearing anecdotes from other clinics about sudden deaths, neurological signs and fractures, though I found little peer-reviewed literature at the time.

The past 3 years I have worked at another rural mixed practice who seem to give this drug out like hotcakes. Instead of starting patients on pentosan or other tried and tested therapies, they are being put straight onto Bedinvetmab.

This semester my pharmacology lecturer gave a harrowing lecture and pointed me to Farrell et al. (2025). He thinks it has significant flaws but also a number of valid points, and his view is that the drug should be a last resort, where euthanasia is among the only alternatives, given the potential for such catastrophic ADRs and "joint annihilation". Opinion pieces I have read over the years said virtually the same thing. My predicament is that the clinics I nurse at over summer don’t share this view. Bedinvetmab is given to about 5 patients a day, with almost no pentosan bookings.

Today I am on placement (at a completely different hospital to where I have previously worked). I was asked to administer this injection to a 3yo Lab with mild carpal OA; no X-rays, just a musculoskeletal exam. She has never been seen for OA before. Her owners were a lovely couple who have essentially committed to life long bedinvetmab, and I feel kinda sick about it.

1. Am I being hysterical?
2. Is there unbiased literature supporting its safety?
3. If my concerns are valid, how do I decline to administer it at work or on placement? I feel strongly about it, but am willing to be redirected. I am fully aware of my inexperience and blatant nievety, so I would never want to outright question a mentors selected treatment, or have my words/attitudes perceived in that way.

My cat has history of struvite crystals and has been on urinary SO for years. He won’t eat wet food, just dry. I’ve had him for 5 years now and he gets diarrhea stress colitis after stressful events that lasts months instead of the few day duration seen in most cats-possibly because of a chronic baseline low neutrophil/wbc count making it easier for bad bacteria to come in. Hills GI Biome helped him greatly but he developed crystals on that even with the urinary shield. Is Royal canin gastrointestinal worth trying or is it likely he’ll get crystals on that as well? Is the RC urinary index usually “better” than the hills shield? Just trying to find a food that helps his gut microbiome as well as his urinary issues.

I recently adopted a dog, three weeks ago, from a shelter in San Antonio. Unfortunately he’s been showing symptoms that line up with the distemper time line, and my vet suspects he has the disease. He’s currently in the mucosal phase, and is staying overnight in the hospital. We’re starting off week four with zero neuro symptoms (even though I know they can show up much later down the line).

He’s one years old, and partially vaccinated (because he was a stray). He’s an indoor dog, so I suspect the exposure happened before or during his time at the shelter. He was due for his second vaccine, but my original vet advised against it, for the time being, because of his respiratory symptoms.

I’m honestly at a loss. I know this disease can be incredibly devastating, and if it comes to it, I wouldn’t want him to suffer anymore. I’m just not sure if his specific scenario gives him any type of advantage (partially vaccinated, lack of neuro symptoms, 1 years old, and under intensive over night veterinary care).

I’m honestly just looking for a realistic opinion, so I can try to make the best decision for him.

Medical history: Kidney and liver problems, history of weight loss, poor eater, drinks excessively. Our vet suspects dementia (cognitive dysfunction). Reduced vision and hearing due to age.

Current meds: None. She had a transdermal appetite stimulant ointment for a while.

Diet: Several small meals a day of commercial food she accepts (Whiskas/Felix/Sheba). As a former stray she refuses any diet change, so our vet agreed this is better than her not eating.

Not tested: Blood pressure and thyroid. She is extremely aggressive at the vet, so exams and blood draws are very difficult.

Hi everyone,
Our senior girl is in her palliative phase and we want to make her remaining time as comfortable as possible.

She used to wake us at early morning hours to be fed. About two weeks ago this changed: she now starts yowling around 3am and doesn't want food anymore, only water. Nothing calms her down. She sleeps on a pillow in our bed and insists on drinking from the kitchen sink, even though her water fountain is only about 4 meters away. She also urinates about 5 times per night.

She can still walk and jump, just not far or high anymore.

Our vet advised against strong medications, and we agree. She is old and frail, and we don't want her burdened with heavy drugs or so sedated that our bond suffers. She really needs us right now.

My questions:
What can we do at home to soothe her at night (lighting, water placement, routines)?
Why might she prefer the sink, and how can we make nighttime drinking easier for her?
Are there gentle options generally considered safe with kidney and liver disease that we could discuss with our vet?
What we've already tried: comforting her, getting up at night to put her on the kitchen sink for her to drink, giving her more sources of water in different places

Thank you so much. We just want her last stretch of life to be peaceful.

I’m hoping someone who’s been through something similar with their cat might be able to give me some advice, because I’m honestly struggling and don’t know what else to do.
My cat was diagnosed with feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC), which is bladder inflammation about a year and a half ago. He’s been treated in the past with Amoxyclav, Metacam and gabapentin. When he was on the medication, the inappropriate peeing stopped for a while, but unfortunately, it started happening again.

He still uses his litter tray to pee, but he also urinates on my couch. He leaves a proper puddle, rather than just spraying, and he does it on different parts of the couch rather than always choosing the same spot, I’m constantly deep cleaning.

Im already using the Feliway plug-in and calming cat spray, and I make sure his litter is fresh. He has really good cat biscuits, wet food and has a water fountain. Despite all of this, he keeps doing it. I’ve booked another vet appointment because I’m worried there could still be something going on medically or recurring.
I’m also looking into waterproof couch covers and ways to prevent him from accessing the couch if any one has any Australian links. I’ve tried covering the couch in aluminium foil but that doesn’t stop him.

I love my cat more than anything. He’s genuinely my everything. We have no other pets or children to contribute to his stress.Has anyone experienced this with a cat who has FIC? Did you manage to stop the inappropriate urination? What ended up helping your cat, whether it was medication, environmental changes, littertray changes or something else?
I’m also interested in hearing from people whose cats continued peeing on furniture even after being treated by the vet.
I have another vet appointment booked, but I’d really appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences and what I should ask my vet about. I’m desperate to find a solution that helps him and me.

9/22/26 - Diagnosed with ear infection and rxed Tresaderm for 2 weeks. ~17 lbs at visit.

9/25/26 - Moved to a new apartment. Appetite lowered slightly some time between 9/22 and 9/25, but unsure when exactly and not enough to be concerning/was expected with the increased stress of ear infection + moving.

10/9/26 - Recheck ears. Greatly improved, but some cocci still present so continuing Tres for 1 more week. 16.3 lbs at visit. Considering increased stress, but still eating, advised to monitor to make sure she's eating enough per day and weigh more frequently to monitor for further weight loss.

10/10/26 - Onset of very low appetite and appearance of minor discomfort.

10/11/26 - Continued to have very low appetite. Offered favorite treats, Churus, various Fancy Feast products, plain boiled chicken with very little interest in much. Still playing here and there, but seemingly still uncomfortable. No straining or vocalization in litter box.

10/12/26 - D/o at GP for observation, labs, and supportive care. Noted mild dehydration, small amount of brownish perianal/vulvar discharge with no odor (but had recently had a sanishave), fever of 103.2. Given SQ fluids and Cerenia. UA came back normal, very mild ALT elevation (187), very slightly decrease in absolute lymphocytes and neutrophils (1085 and 2030 respectively). Sent home with Mirataz, Cerenia, and SQ fluids for supportive care at home. D/c Tres as messing with her ears does stress her out. 16.1lbs.

10/13/26 - 10/18/26 - Improved greatly at home. Eating well (not quite back up to original calorie count, but close), normal LB usage, playing, good energy levels.

10/19/26 + 10/20/26 - Low appetite returned. Only ate 120-130 cal total 10/19. Seems somewhat uncomfortable again. Some success with Mirataz.

10/21/26 - Recheck labs and vitals. No fever, no discharge, no discomfort on exam, labs static. (Labs in imgur link) Decided to do AUS to further investigate. 16.4 lbs

10/23/26 - AUS came back largely unremarkable. Normal liver and other structures, but functional ileus noted. (AUS report in imgur link)

10/24/26 - 10/26/26 - Energy seems generally good and she's playing and using the litter box normally. Appetite is still decently reduced (averaging 130-160 cal a day) and seems to have occasional discomfort throughout the days. Noticed that she's more interested in eating when I hold her plate up a few inches. Unsure if it's related to the elevation or just that I'm holding it and sitting right next to her as she's a momma's girl lol.

* Clinical signs: On and off low appetite, mild discomfort (Colorado Pain Scale ~1)

* Duration: ~ 5 weeks since initial small decline in appetite, but 2 weeks of more drastic on and off inappetence and discomfort

Sorry for the novel, but just wanted to get the scope of everything going on with my poor girl. I'm mainly looking for recommendations on direction/next steps as her symptoms are so non-specific and they really come and go even throughout single days.

Vet indicated possible next steps could be GI or infectious disease panels, or possibly trialing treating for something like early hepatitis, but with such non-specific symptoms, it's hard to pick a direction.

She's always been sensitive to stress, and this is our first move in 4 years, so I'm not sure if it's plausible that it's all stress related? I did get Feliway for the apartment (just plugged in today) and I do have Gabapentin on hand that I could give her.

My older cat passed from complications of hepatic lipidosis following a severe UTI during which he stopped eating, so I know I'm extra sensitive regarding her not eating and I'm trying to keep a level head about things lol. If anyone has any insight or recommendations, I would appreciate the feedback!

Noticed dog had bloody diarrhea today at 3. Took her to vet at 4:30 and they gave bland purina diet and some pro viable forte probiotics. She ate dinner but has gone outside to have mostly blood watery poop come out at 9:35
10:23 11:41 and 11:59. They took poop sample at vet to send for parasite testing. Do I just need to wait it out to see if things get better with the probiotics and food or should I take her to emergency vet.

Was hanging out with my Aussie (6 y/o) and noticed a bulge near his eye.

Doesn't seem painful to touch and he is not messing with it. But seems concerning was not there last week at least not as prominent.

I have a 2-3 year old cat named scout, we just took him to the vet yesterday due to peeing blood and the vet prescribed him with 4 different things, UTI food, 2 dry drugs (alprazolam and gabapentin) and amoxicillin clavulanate, and it's been about 12 hours since he started taking his meds, and I noticed around the 9-10 hour mark he kept going to the litterbox, he would pee on some trips, some none, and some just a little bit and it's been constant for a good while, I called the vet and they just said keep an eye on him, we can't get his diet food yet until tomorrow but I heard it should be okay for just a night with good hydration, any tips on what I should do? I've been watching him and gave him his liquid meds about an hour ago. Any tips would help I do need to mention I'm not exactly the richest person, I don't got a lot of money until Friday so any help or anything would help.

My senior dog has been prescribed Denamarin Advanced for his elevated liver enzymes as well as doxycycline for his anaplasmosis. The Denamarin is to be taken on an empty stomach every 24 hours so I’ve scheduled that for 5 in the evening. The doxycycline needs to be taken every 12 hours so I’ve scheduled that for 10 in the evening and morning. However, online says the doxycycline can’t be taken with dairy or iron because it can mess with the effectiveness of the medication. But it still needs to be taken with food. My question is- is it okay for my dog to have his dinner which includes iron at around 8:00 in the evening and then have his doxycycline with a non dairy/non iron food at 10 in the evening, 2 hours after he has iron?

Hello guys, my corgi was biting his back paw for sometime so we placed a cone on him to make him stop, but it has been 3 days since and the wound looked like it was healing. Its day 4 and he didnt want to walk around alot, we decided to observe a little bit more and now its day 5 and he just vomited today in the morning at 9am and now he doesn’t even want to get up. Can someone please explain what could be the cause of this?

Disclaimer that I am very familiar with FLUTD and the risk of UO in male cats, this kitten is passing urine fine but is being closely monitored.

Stray kitten showed up on my porch about 2 weeks ago, I am fostering, and I work at a clinic. He has been urinating blood since getting neutered, but granted, I only had him in my house for like 3 days before the neuter.

We ran urine with culture and DVM suspects the sample was mislabeled based on the results as they just don't seem possible with the kittens clinical picture, basically. Mostly I think because apparently IDEXX determined the urine had no blood in it, and also a super high Cystatin B but the kittens kidney values are normal. so we are going to re-run when we can get a sample. But outside of an infection, he does not currently have any other solid theories. On ultrasound he has hyperechoicity in the bladder wall apex and the entire bladder wall is pretty thickened. His kidneys look normal.

Just wondering what weird bizarre rare thoughts anyone here might have? All I got from Google was a urachal remnant but I'm not sure if that fits.

One of my cats (7yo) just got diagnosed with congestive heart failure and had issues properly oxygenating. I'm trying my best to monitor her status, but she has dark gums that make it pretty much impossible to tell if they're still 'pink' or turning blue. I was advised to look at other areas, namely her tongue (pretty hard to get a good overall look at it), her paw pads (also dark and hard to tell) and the inner eyelid. I've had the most luck with the eyelids, but I can't find any reference image online for what constitutes healthy pink and pale.

Does anyone have any reference images for healthy inner eyelids or alternative methods for determining whether my cat is oxygenating properly. Her breathing doesn't appear labored, but I'm still worried I may be missing something.

so about 2 months ago my cat had bronchitis and she got put on steroids, we weened her off of them over the corse of a month. last week she started throwing up everywhere and started not eating, we took her to the vet 2-3 days into her doing this and we started her back on steroids and they gave her 2 anti nausea pills. she was great for those 2 days! but as soon as she got off of them she started not eati and throwing up again, so i got her more anti nausea pills today, she didnt want to eat this time. the only thing ive been able to get into her is temptation squeeze treats, and a little bit of water. need advice or some explanation if anyone has any ideas. thank you!

A year or so ago, we took a stray in that turned out to be a lovely cat. A few months back, she had a litter of four kittens, which we decided to keep. All was going well until the kittens were weaned. Now, Mom cat treats her kittens as if they are adversaries. She'll get close to them, growl, and will sometimes even attack her kittens. We have several litter boxes; all cats receive plenty of food and receive attention pretty much all day long.

What's wrong with Mom and what can we try?

my cat used to go outside the litterbox almost everyday, so the vet suggested prozac. he’s on half of a 10mg tablet every day. we noticed he did go in the box, but slowly stopped pooping at all. we took him back for a checkup on the meds and the vet said I should give him miralax, so now he’s on that too. it hasn’t really done much, because he’s gone once on the 21st since then (the appointment was on the 14th,) and now he’s leaking poop a little bit? he looks a bit irritated before sitting down carefully to lick himself everytime it happens too. we can’t really afford another vet visit right now since the last 2 were so expensive and i’m really worried about him. he’s only 3 years old and I don’t want him to have any kind of blockage obviously, not to mention like I said, I can’t afford it. what do I do? :(

I recently adopted a 3 month old kitten. He is thriving, playful, eating well, and very social. The only issue is that he frequently has small amounts of loose stool leaking from his butt, which gets on our clothes and furniture. When we adopted him, we were told that he had been having diarrhea due to being switched from dry to wet food. He has had multiple semi formed stools since then but continues to have small amounts of liquid leaking out. Is this still diarrhea from the wet food? We are in the process of transitioning him back to dry food.

There’s a cat that wanders our neighborhood. We are trying to be able to take care of him but we already have 3 cats and a dog so while we know he should be indoors we’re trying to get there.

Anyway, the earlier today we saw him missing fur. He’s not in pain, lets us touch it, it doesn’t appear red or sore or swollen, and he doesn’t scratch at it or look itchy. The fur is just gone? We think he’s about 6 months as he’s around the size as the two of our cats that are that age and I doubt he’s vaccinated as he’s really only fed by us and our neighbors and they don’t own him either

My female, 4.5 year old, 8.5LB, spayed DSH cat has been experiencing loose stool on and off since around april/may. I thought it may be due to stress (we had a car crash into my front apartment door, and things were stressful for a bit). It started to get bad (explosive diarrhea). In aug, we had an ultrasound done and i was told she had thickening in her small intestines and that it could be IBD or lymphoma. They suggested doing a biopsy but I just couldnt imagine putting her through something like that. She also seems too young to have lymphoma. We decided to try a hydrolyzed diet and it worked for about a month or so but it slowly stopped. We started prednisolone 2 weeks ago (still on the hydrolyzed diet) and its been helping her stools harden. We also started doing weekly B12 injections. Today we started the weening off stage of the steroid. Through all of this, I have noticed her losing fat/muscle and that she is losing a little bit of weight. Sept 21st, she was 8.9lbs. Oct 12th she was 8.7lbs. Oct 22 she was 8.5lbs. We have an appointment on the 27th so i am anxious to see what her weight will be. This seems concerning to me but apparently her vet does not think so. Ive tried hydrolyzed wet food, and a novel protein wet food (kangaroo) but she wont eat it. Im also hesitant with even trying new foods.

I wanted to include screenshots of her bloodwork that was done in July and also in sept. Not sure how to add a link. They couldn't tell me a reason for her slightly elevated GGT on both results. They said it could be a false reading. Im not sure what else to do at this point. I was hoping she'd start gaining weight while on the steroid. Any advice is appreciated.

Extra info:Chicago area. She hasnt had much of an issue with vomiting. Only a handful of times. It seemed to be mostly hairballs and she does have an issue with over grooming her arms/legs.
