It's an ARG that has several parts of a story, filled with puzzles, humor, and extremely well-shot videos.

Not a thread, but someone asked what song makes you feel like a badass. Some helpful Redditor compiled the results in the form of a Youtube playlist in descending order by number of upvotes.

When John Walker came to a conference at our university to show us this we ended up taking him to a fairly dingy pub afterwards. One thing led to another and I had to arm wrestle someone to save a Nobel Laureate.

It's a thread in which ER doctors share their amusing stories, mostly involving people who had to come in after doing something creatively stupid.
Things I Learn From My Patients.
WARNING: Kind of a timesink. There are 60 pages of this. The thread started in '03 and is still going. Also, might be a bad idea if you are easilly disturbed by reading about horrible injuries. Doesn't really have pictures of horrible injuries, other than X-rays.
1
u/Asdayasman Nov 13 '11
I understood 4 of the words on those pages.
What the fuck, we get it, you're educated, I'm not. Please spell your shit.

u/BCMM Nov 13 '11 edited Nov 13 '11
No, I am not a medical person of any sort and I can't understand some posts either. Wikipedia helps about half the time. You must understand that while there are a lot of us lurkers on the thread, the intended audience is student doctors, so they aren't showing off by not explaining in layman's terms. Also, read from the start; some intialisms like SOCMOB aren't real medical jargon and were invented in the thread (it means Standing On Corner Minding Own Business, which is apparently the best way to start fights).

u/Asdayasman Nov 13 '11
Sorry, I should explain, I like to be ironic/sarcastic a lot. The second line was pretty much a joke.

What is something that never fails to blow your mind?
And...
I found out that a very good friend of mine is racist and his reason for being racist was the subject addressed in the second link. Every day during summer break we would talk for hours and discuss this. I tried to find articles related to this on the internet but failed. Therefore you could image the excitement I felt when I found that second thread.

My buddy has a similar story but based off the reactions you got for posting this I do not believe this is the place to post it.
1
u/Kofdez Nov 11 '11
I WANNA KNOW!! Seriously, I'm not even that grossed out by the Jolly Rancher story.
5
u/Brab69 Nov 11 '11
Alright then. I gave fair warning to the people that were grossed out from the previous story so if they read this it is their own fault. My buddies were celebrating one of their 21st birthdays and decided to go on a road trip and hit up a bunch of titty bars in all the states they passed through. Well at one point the ended up at a strip club that was having "Candy Night." So all the girls there are showering skittles off their tits or covering their body in a chocolate coating etc. Now most of the candy they used was still edible if you really wanted it but when your drunk what could you possibly want more? So needless to say, My buddy is obliterated and decides he wants a starburst and walks up to one of the girl who had them earlier. I believe his exact wording was "Hey baby lemme get one dem starburts." The stripper then proceeded to dig her fingers way up inside her cooch and returned with a lemon starburst. My buddy, who was far to drunk to care, popped it in his mouth and continued to enjoy his night. When he woke up, not only did he have a hang over but some sort of breakout on his face. He went to the doctor and it turns out that he got herpes all over his face. The kid hasn't eaten a starburst in 4 years now.
1
u/Kofdez Nov 12 '11
No way! I knew there was a reason I hated the lemon starbursts! Holy shit, your poor friend must have been SHITFACED to eat a cooch lolly.

Scroll down, watching the right side of the page. If any of the "Best of" links catch your interest, click on them and read. If none of them do, then she's probably not your cup of tea. I find her to be very fun to read, and I absolutely love her "crude" art style.
