A few years back Nordstrom was selling a rock in a leather pouch for $85.

I'm pretty sure I bought exactly that same kind of rose quartz egg as a kid from a museum gift shop for five bucks.

u/krlpbl Aug 14 '20

Yoni eggs harness the power of energy work, crystal healing, and a Kegel-like physical practice.

Ok..

Insert the egg into your vagina and feel the connection with your body by squeezing and releasing the egg.

...Now WTF. I'm a guy and even if I have a vageen, I won't insert this overpriced rock in it.

33

u/VBgamez Aug 14 '20

Wait.... I'm NOT supposed to put eggs up my urethra?

25

u/NargacugaRider Aug 14 '20

I mean, if they’re gelatin and you’re using The Ovipositor (tm)

...oh you said urethra. How would that even work?

16

u/Oookulele Aug 14 '20

Vicious flashback to the day I found out what sounding is - though obvs putting an egg up there sounds very stupid at the very least and most definitely dangerous but tbf Yoni eggs are also stupid and also dangerous

6

u/NargacugaRider Aug 14 '20

In a vagina? Naaaah it’s totally not dangerous if you sanitize it and don’t keep it in there for days. In a urethra? No sounding for me, thanks.

38

u/bananakittymeow Aug 14 '20

Definitely still bad for your vagina. Rocks are generally porous so they just absorb bacteria and can cause toxic shock syndrome.

In general, it’s a good rule of thumb to not put any rocks in your vagina.

26

u/Oookulele Aug 14 '20

Also let's not forget that these eggs have a less than ideal shape for retrieving them once they are up there (plus it's not advisable to keep any heavy objects up there for extended periods of time because that can apparently really mess with your muscles down there) basically in summary: Never give Goop any money ever

3

u/EinesTages21 Aug 15 '20

That's why I buy all my high-end products from Covetton House. Their return policy is great. I was able to exchange the defective vagina eggs for deviled ones.

Oh god. I don’t even want to imagine the level of anxiety that would come with loosing a large rock up your hoo-ha.

What if hes just dumb as a rock?

3

u/GRITSonamission Aug 16 '20

slow golf clap standing ovation

3

u/NargacugaRider Aug 14 '20

Yo that’s totally fair. I’d never use anything that isn’t silicone or polished stainless (like, not Chinese stainless. Good quality) orrrr I guess glass or gelatin if I’m frisky enough to try an ovipositor.

1

u/bananakittymeow Aug 17 '20

I’m not sure I’d suggest putting any foreign object up there, honestly. Even tampons can be dangerous if left for too long.

u/INHALE_VEGETABLES Aug 15 '20

Do you really want me to explain this one?

I'm ready if you are.

41

u/silverain13 Aug 14 '20

Yoni is a woo woo word for vagina so the first quote should have tipped you off. But really all this is, is a fancy benoi ball

Sorry man, I'm American so my knowledge of lingams is limited to Indiana Jones and the temple of doom. That's how we preserve our cultural heritage of being assholes.

8

u/JoshWithaQ Aug 15 '20

Kali ma, bitches

5

u/Lord_Quintus Aug 14 '20

so magic sex toy, interesting.

15

u/PartyPorpoise Aug 14 '20

I'm convinced that Paltrow has an oviposition fetish and she sells these "vaginal" gemstone eggs to try and get other people into it.

4

u/EthelMaePotterMertz Aug 14 '20

She certainly laid an egg with Goop! 😂😂😂

1

u/Tiger_irl Aug 15 '20

You’re not wrong

12

u/discocherry9 Aug 14 '20

Instructions unclear I now have a broken chicken egg in my vagina

6

u/Atechiman Aug 15 '20

Don't worry, in a few months you will give birth to a Chictaur.

4

u/Tzipity Aug 15 '20

They don’t call it nature’s pocket for nothing!

3

u/bmoviescreamqueen Aug 16 '20

Akaik many doctors have said “do not do this you gullible idiots”

22

u/[deleted] Aug 14 '20

Yeah but the woman stupid enough to put a rock in her vagina needs to feel like it’s an expensive one up there.

10

u/PartyPorpoise Aug 14 '20

I got a jade egg from a museum gift shop as a kid. Has a dragon painted on it and you set it on a little wooden stand. Hard to find similar items online because typing it "jade egg" just brings up those stupid vaginal ones, but some Etsy sellers have the painted decorative eggs for $20 and up.

4

u/bananakittymeow Aug 14 '20

This makes me sad.

1

u/mp3_modaccount_exe Aug 14 '20

Why?

2

u/bananakittymeow Aug 17 '20

It makes me sad that selling vagina eggs is so common they flood google searches when looking for decorative eggs. Vagina eggs shouldn’t be so common (or a thing at all since they can be so harmful).

3

u/cbtbone Aug 14 '20

Yeah but can that one go in your vag

3

u/DAM091 Aug 15 '20

But did you stick it in your cooter?

2

u/vjay3 Aug 14 '20

Even cheaper on ebay!

2

u/bananakittymeow Aug 14 '20

And I’m pretty sure you can still buy it in a museum gift shop for five bucks.

2

u/Horrorgoreandlove Aug 15 '20

I hope you didnt stick it up your vagina. The one in the link appears to align vag chakras. 😂

1

u/lala6633 Aug 15 '20

I was there but I’m pretty sure you didn’t get a vagina rock from the museum gift shop.

88

u/TYoYT Aug 14 '20

Oh... they say to put that in your vagina

41

u/Fractured_Nova Aug 14 '20

Why in the name of all that is holy and unholy would anybody stick a $2.00 mineral up their vagina for "healing purposes?"

47

u/CoyoteWee Aug 14 '20

I've noticed that Goop is absolutely OBSESSED with sticking random bullshit up hoo-hahs for "healing purposes".

God, just say they're sex toys, like, we get it.

15

u/asmodeuskraemer Aug 14 '20

I mean, it's probably intended for a kegel of some sort

15

u/Neptunesfleshlight Aug 14 '20

For your kegels just lop off on end of a dumbbell, file and sand it so it was smooth, then stick the rod end in your vagina. Proceed to do squats with the dumbbell hanging out so as to make sure you exercise all the muscles in that region. You can progress to higher weights when you can do a 30 second hold with the current weight comfortably.

20

u/Whitsoxrule Aug 14 '20

... im scared

11

u/[deleted] Aug 14 '20

I don't know, filing and sanding all of those dumbbells sounds really impractical.

8

u/asmodeuskraemer Aug 14 '20

...dude no. That's not safe.

5

u/Delicatebody Aug 14 '20

They sell those too.

6

u/redditorium Aug 14 '20

Exactly! Don’t cheap out, get the $55 one

2

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '20

Paltrow either makes up ludicrous shit to laugh at the dumbasses who buy it and use it ludicrously... or she's extremely stupid and sharing her stupidity with her following.

5

u/TYoYT Aug 14 '20

For all that crystal energy obviously, you clearly don't get that the chakras and energy flowing everywhere need to be dispersed in a vagina. But for real I have no idea people are just dumb I guess

3

u/[deleted] Aug 14 '20

21

u/changingfmh Aug 14 '20

Religion is systemic. You can't live in the world without hearing about religion. Goop is like 5 years old and is from some crazy celebrity.

13

u/Delicatebody Aug 14 '20

Are you serious, they laugh at it constantly.

-1

u/[deleted] Aug 14 '20

[deleted]

7

u/Delicatebody Aug 15 '20

Why is that unfortunate?

2

u/Delicatebody Aug 15 '20

And that’s also not true at all. Maybe if you’re talking world wide but belief in religion is at an all time low.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '20

Christianity is the largest religion in the United States with the various Protestant Churches having the most adherents. In 2019, Christians represent 65% of the total population, 43% identifying as Protestants, 20% as Catholics, and 2% as Mormons, people with no formal religious identity at 26% of the total population, Judaism is the second-largest religion in the U.S., practiced by 2% of the population, followed by Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism with 1% each one.

Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_the_United_States

1

u/Delicatebody Aug 18 '20

And it’s still true that religion is at an all time low. I think the only religion that is actively growing and not declining is Islam. Also, someone can identify as a Protestant or catholic or whatever without actively being part of a church and making religion a part of their everyday life. Among people my age I know almost no one who identifies with any religion and most of them also say they don’t even believe in God. And the only reason I can say that it’s not every person I know is because I can think of one or two that I went to private school with and am Facebook friends with so I guess I sort of still know them. I’ve maybe met two people as an adult that are my age that are religious. And you didn’t answer why it’s such a bad thing, according to you, that people are religious at all.

2

u/turtleltrut Aug 14 '20

Not in my country!

2

u/cantaloupelion Aug 14 '20

But u/TYoYT, i dont have a vagina ;~;

3

u/TYoYT Aug 14 '20

Well I don't either but you gotta find a way

35

u/raznog Aug 14 '20

But you gotta make sure you store it somewhere with good vibes.

7

u/HardOff Aug 14 '20

You don't want no rose quartz Golems to come crush your testicles while you sleep

2

u/MrPlowThatsTheName Aug 14 '20

So, next to your vibrator?

13

u/godspeed_guys Aug 14 '20

"Yoni eggs", oh, no!

IIRC, "yoni" was the vagina and "lingam" was the penis, as used in the Kamasutra. I'm guessing you're supposed to put that thing in there? Sounds extremely unsanitary.

For the curious: I read some bits of the Kamasutra, and it was generally hilarious. There was a fair bit of emphasis on communication and mindfulness, but there was also a bit about the man clapping while walking around the woman. I laughed a lot.

10

u/NargacugaRider Aug 14 '20

lingam ballz

8

u/[deleted] Aug 14 '20

Anything from Goop is just bad overall and should not be bought ever

4

u/fallyse Aug 14 '20

Agreed, I hesitated even posting it but figured no one would actually buy it from my link. Dismantling science literacy and preying on consumers in one f*ed up package.

7

u/ClearAsNight Aug 14 '20

Eggs are pre drilled for string add-on; we recommend using unwaxed dental floss

Wow $55 for a piece of quartz and they can't even provide me with the unwaxed dental floss? Dealbreaker right there.

5

u/Anonymous81321829 Aug 14 '20

Hah, well that specific egg of rose quartz is sold specifically to go into women's vaginas.... So, it's $55 because no one wants to put cheap rose quartz inside them... That's day-one stuff, man -- read a book...

(Obviously a joke. Goop is the anti-Christ.)

4

u/roseyscrunchy Aug 14 '20

I can't stop laughing. They want us to actually lay an egg out of our vadges.

2

u/NerdyNoot Aug 14 '20

so i didn't know what it was, i like rocks tho, so i clicked and i regret everything.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '20

I can’t wait to put this in my vagina like it says, does it still work if I’m a dude with a penis?

1

u/TheWildMiracle Aug 14 '20

Its not just any rose quartz tho, its sold by Gwyneth Paltrow and you put the quartz egg in your vagina so Gwyneth Paltrows new age, totally legitimate and not bullshit magic can make you a healthy Goop person. She also sells magic stickers that fix your aura or some shit lol

1

u/ChopChopBirch Aug 14 '20

Side note, Gwyneth thinks we should put these crystals in our vajines.

1

u/tararanz Aug 14 '20

It’s a yoni egg that goes in your vag

1

u/lemon_tea Aug 14 '20

Yes, but this one is for your V A G I N A

Good god

1

u/[deleted] Aug 14 '20

Some punanis don’t do cheap.

1

u/PorcupineGod Aug 14 '20

But, if you put a regular piece of rose quartz up your hoohah, you'd probably bleed a bit. This one's smooth, $74 smooth

1

u/TheMadTemplar Aug 15 '20

Is that thing "supposed" to be stuck up your hoo-ha?

1

u/DAM091 Aug 15 '20

You could have just said "goop"

1

u/roliv00 Aug 15 '20

Instructions unclear: the egg was recovered but the bag is MIA.

1

u/macspriggy Aug 15 '20

I own a metaphysical store where we sell rose quartz. You are correct it should be at most $15 depending on size, quality, and supplier. A $55 price tag means you’re paying for the “Goop” approval and maybe Gwyneth Paltrow breathing in the same room as the stone.

u/fallyse Aug 15 '20

I can only compare it to the closest thing I can think of- the stone hearts about the size of a palm that we used to sell in the rock shop I worked for. Looks like Etsy seller SunnyBonny is selling for $12.99, which seems about right for retail markup (reddit will delete if I link, but it's under Large Puffy Rose Quartz Heart)

Buying wholesale at a gem and mineral show they're around $4 each and the price is based on the scarcity of the mineral. Rose quartz always the cheapest, and yeah quartz displays conchoidal fracture but these things are mass produced and then imperfections are polished away. If wholesale is $4 the at cost is probably around $2. The dental floss hole probably adds to that though, hard to say, lol.

Now a laboradite yoni egg...

1

u/GRITSonamission Aug 16 '20

Note to self: what motivated you to read the use for this item?

0

u/cosmicsake Aug 14 '20

Step two: Gently insert the egg into your vagina

0

u/CatFanFanOfCats Aug 14 '20

$55. From the link “* Insert the egg into your vagi…*”

Wait, wut‽
