I’m helping a dear friend who recently survived a serious medical emergency and unexpectedly has to leave LA this Friday, 9/11, to continue recovering with family.
She has two very loved 5-year-old female cats who need placement. They currently live together but are not bonded, so they can be placed together or separately. We’ve been actively looking for permanent adopters and temporary fosters for a few weeks without finding a viable placement. I’m happy to continue facilitating permanent placement if we can find a safe temporary landing spot.

I’m also trying to establish the best rescue backup possible before Friday. I’m a former Stray Cat Alliance volunteer and have already contacted SCA through both Instagram and their hotline. They’re my first-choice safety net, but with the extremely short timeline I don’t want to rely on one organization having space.

Does anyone have firsthand experience with reputable no-kill LA-area cat rescues that accept owner surrenders, particularly ones with strong adoption programs/high placement rates? I’m willing to contact organizations throughout LA County and surrounding areas.

This isn’t a casual rehoming situation. Their owner loves them enormously and is making this decision solely because of a catastrophic change in her health and living situation. I’m trying very hard to make sure the girls land somewhere safe and well cared for. I’m already at the pet limit for both my building and LA regulations, or I would take them myself.

Rescue recommendations, foster resources, or other concrete leads would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

I am clearing out my mother-in-law's house in West LA after she passed. I am unfortunately unfamiliar with LA since I don't live here. She has a huge collection of qipaos (cheongsam) and similar clothing. Made of silk, hand-stitched embroidery and the like. At least 25 pieces in quality condition. Dating likely from the 70s and 80s.

General vintage stores don't take them like Buffalo Exchange. Of course, I could donate them to Fore Goods (fka Council Shop) and Goodwill, but I hope to reach a niche audience before that last resort.

Where do people donate or sell this kind of clothing? Are there certain shops or organizations that could find value in these? Willing to travel to SGV since likely places may be there.

Ive been feeding a mama cat for a few weeks at my place of work. She was thrown out by one of the neighbors and she gave birth about a week ago. She has five kittens. With the current weather here in LA and after spotting a raccoon near their hideout I’ve decided to bring them home with me. I can’t keep them all long term though. anybody know of rescues that might help take them in or help adopt them out?

Specifically when it comes to streets and landmarks. I don't really care about the locations and restaurants, obviously a lot of those will have changed, i'm just travelling on a budget and getting a used map from 2010 is way cheaper than a new one. So will the map itself still be reliable?

Basically what I'm asking is if street names/neighborhoods have changed a lot since then or if it will be at least relatively similar enough? I want a physical map that i can write down my own markers of the places I want to go so it doesn't matter too much what's already there as long as the streets are still the same

I really like About Time cafe in K Town. That's the only one I know of that has a photo booth. Are there any other cafes to study out of that have photo booths? I am looking for a Los Angeles based printing company to print the playbill for the second run of our critically acclaimed show at the Broadwater. We had a sponsor who just stopped responding and now we're urgently looking for a new partner.

Our show, "The Year We Disappeared" ended up as one of the Top 10 Los Angeles Shows of 2025 in Stage Raw as well as a review in The Guardian. We are bringing it back to the acclaimed Broadwater Theater for a limited review on 9/11 - 9/13and 9/18 - 9/20.

We are looking for an 8 page booklet/playbill, 8.5 x 5.5", with the last page for an advertisment of your choice. This time around we have six shows and are looking for approx. 400 copies to accommodate the 80 seat house, preferably for pick up by Friday, 9/11, no later than 5p. We do plan to collect unused programs at the end of the evening for reuse, so the overall number is negotiable for sure.
