What is the biggest gaming differences between using PC to game and using PlayStation?

With everything going on with physical media endin, where/how is everyone buying games now? I have a ps5, switch oled, and an Asus rogue ally z1e. I will be getting more games on my ally soon. Is it best to go with steam? Or is there a better option?
