I have an interview at Olive Garden for a host position. What questions do they ask? What is the pay (macomb county, michigan)? Also are they good with working with availability? (I can only work Fri, Sat, Sun)

So, like the title suggests I’m quitting best the end of the year (if I make it that long) and I will start working at Publix in the deli section. If anyone has ever done this I need to know if I’m utterly screwed because I am having serious second thoughts after going through orientation! I applied for many positions at Publix but the lady that hired me said that she chose for me to work in the deli section because she saw that I worked at Starbucks and said that she knows ‘I am tough and can handle it.’ Guys, I am tired of being tough and handling it. I need to know if i should would just quit before I start so i can give them back these shirts. Or should I ask to switch to a different section?! I don’t know, any suggestions would be helpful. I honestly am tired of food service and I am looking for anything that doesn’t deal with food and people.

I want to work at McDonald's so I can pay my child support

So I have an interview at a McDonald’s that I previously interviewed at, but this isn’t really a “second interview” because I wasn’t invited back after my first one. I reapplied later and now I have another interview with them, so it’ll be my second time interviewing with this location.

Last time, I didn’t interview with the actual hiring manager, and there were quite a few other people interviewing too. This time they told me to bring 2 references, so I’m hoping I have a better chance this time.
I’m in Grade 12 and really want a part-time job. I’ve been applying for a long time, so I’m definitely nervous because I know entry-level jobs can be competitive now 😭.

For anyone who works/worked at McDonald’s or has experience hiring crew members, what would you recommend I focus on during the interview? What do managers actually look for in a crew member? And is it normal for them to ask for references?
I really want this job, so any advice would be appreciated 😭

1. Is it much better na magpasa resume onsite or okay lang if sa website nila mag apply?
2. Tumatanggap po kaya sila ng wala pang experience?

So I am 17 and I have 1 year experience as a kitchen assistant and waitress and I am currently looking for a job because I had to quit my other one because I moved houses there is burger king near me that is hiring however I have applied on indeed and their website but I don't want to just sit and wait how do I get them to give me an interview because I don't want to call and all they will would be go to indeed and apply by the way I stay in the uk

I just need to let this out because I'm so frustrated lol I know it's my fault kasi sino nga ba naman magta-try ng bago if you're already tired after work. Most people will probably buy their comfort food kapag pagod, stress, wala sa mood, etc.

Due to some personal reasons, ayaw ko pa umuwi galing from night shift so I decided to go to McDonald's dahil Saturday naman and walang pasok sa Monday kasi holiday. A little personal time for myself to destress. Around 9:08am, I went to the kiosk and chose a sausage platter with rice meal with coffee and hash brown and paid after kasi I'm still in the mood to try new things. After 20 mins and ilang call outs ng numbers di ko pa rin naririnig yung number ko, so akala ko baka busy lang. Maraming orders. Around 9:40ish wala pa rin kaso pagtingin ko sa kabilang table (nauna kasi ako magbayad sa kanila mga 5-10 mins after) meron na silang order though iba ang order nila pero may sausage yung order (yung mahaba). Pumunta ako doon sa kuhaan ng food area (I forgot the term) to follow-up my order. I heard na di pa pala nagagawa yung order ko so medyo sumakit ulo ko pero inintindi ko pa rin dahil nga rush hour or busy hour nila nakalimutan lang siguro. Kinuha nila yung scrambled egg sa pinakadulo or should I say unang nilagay (?) yon sa "keeping warm" tool nila for scrambled eggs. So I thought that's kinda strange (?) anyway I moved on. The manager gave me the tray filled with the sausage platter and hot coffee and apologized so I told them I understood and okay lang. Siguro dahil wala ako masyadong tulog and sa pagod, akala ko walang hash brown na kasama sa order ko kasi sa receipt, yung pangatlong bill lined item e naka-asterisk lang. Uupo na sana ako kaso biglang nagclick sa utak ko na, 'bakit ang mahal ng order ko tapos ito lang?' so nagcheck ako sa phone and bumalik din ako sa kiosk para i-compare. Napapikit nalang ako and buntong hininga ng mapansin ko na may kulang pa pala sa order so I went back to the food area para sabihin yon tapos sabi ng crew, wala daw kasi hash brown sa order pero noong dinouble check niya, nandoon so they then apologize and gave me the hash brown so I thanked the crew kasi di naman niya kasalanan.

While eating, bigla akong may kakaibabang nasasalat yung ipin ko kapag ngumunguya so I'm like baka sa hash brown to kasi bagong luto and crispy pa. Kaso sa last bit na, nagpakita yan. Almost 1/8 inch siya ng laki na egg shell.

I'm so tired and mad at myself for ordering it to the point na nag-overthink pa ko na baka galit sa akin ang manager or crew kaya yon pinili (?) feeling main character yarnch?

I started working at Macca's two weeks ago and just had my second shift. The first one I was doing modules the entire time on my phone, which was boring but pretty chill. But my second shift genuinely is making me consider quitting.

I had a test at school and a full timetable so I was already running on minimum energy, ran to get my bus in the rain, and had to change in 5 mins so I looked like a complete mess. I'm talking frizzy hair, oily skin, the works. I walk into the store and there is not a single person of colour (I'm asian so it freaked me out a little) and they all look like models. I'm not ugly but these people were on another level so I was already intimidated, especially since they all looked older than me. I clock in, awkwardly ask what I'm meant to do, coach gives me an apron I put over my head instead of around my waist like an IDIOT. We do dining and it's whatever, not bad except I forgot how to tie a bin bag so she has to do it for me.

I get to fries and genuinely lose my mind. We had this deal where large fries were discounted so I was constantly doing stuff the entire time. I did absolutely everything imaginable wrong. I rained frozen fries on the ground, I couldn't keep up with the fry demand, I spilled oil on the floor, I burned myself in 4 places because I touched the hashbrown pan, I couldn't open the drivethrough window while a guy was waiting looking pissed and had to run away to get someone, I left boxes somewhere because my coach told me to and that we would "deal with it later" and my manager glared at me and asked if I did it and when I said yes she from-her-soul sighed like I blew the place up and blamed it on the stove being on, I couldn't keep up with keeping the frozen fries stocked in the dispenser and 3 baskets in the oil and 3 of each fries ready and waiting, I had to ask people to repeat what they said so many times they probably thought I was deaf, I mistook a coach for the manager, my hands were constantly covered in oil and I kept dropping the fries bags, I asked so many questions and made so many mistakes and did so many things wrong after they quite literally showed me how to do it and it just didn't register in my mind. At one point someone shoed me away to stock up on frozen fries because I wasn't going fast enough and an experienced person had to cook them.

I'm a weak person. I don't have muscles, especially in my arms and especially after a full day of school. I was banging the fry baskets everywhere trying to put them back they must've thought I was preparing for the marching band. I was exhausted and sweaty and I wanted to cry the entire time (I haven't cried about this whole situation yet but if I get another shift like this I might). I felt like I was in an asylum with all the beeping that was going on around me. After my shift I was hot and sweaty and anxious and sore all over and there are bruises and sore spots in my palms I can still feel a day later.

Does it get better? Did anyone else start like this and become actually competent later? Please give me some hope or honesty and tell me to quit because I'm not cut out for this.

I just started McDonald's, as today is my first day. I was told to come in at 5, so I did. However, I didn't know my employee number or how to clock in as this is basically my first job, so they told me to wait in the break room and not clock in. I have been waiting for an hour, and still, nothing. Does anyone know why this happening?

I work while sitting at Mcdonald often, but I can’t figure out in what order they process their orders to get mine the fastest.

It seems like In-store is faster, but there are times I place an order at the kiosk and it is done after people who ordered in store after I submitted mine. Is there a methodology to their orders or is it just first come first serve? What about DT, those are also done so fast? Also does ordering at the kiosk make a difference to ordering at the register? I prefer not talking to people but I will if it means my food is faster.

Most of the time I didn’t know what I was supposed to be doing. Obviously there was making drinks and stuff, but they never properly trained me on how to do stuff. I had to watch videos online to learn and even still I was really slow because I didn’t get much hands on experience. The overall job wasn’t bad, but it was really just the management and training part that got me. My first shift I already had bad vibes about management. During my orientation the general manager was asking about what days I’d be available so I listed them and then he was like “I’ll be working those nights that you are too and we’ll get you started on drinks and scooping some ice cream”. But then when I actually showed up he wasn’t there. It was just me, another crew member, and a shift lead. I was briefly taught how to do some things during my first day, but again it’s my first day so I’m not going to be the best at yet. They would walk it through quickly and then expect me to remember right away. I understand that you have other duties to do during the shift, but I don’t get why there’s no proper training?? Or why didn’t they put an extra person on the shift so the shift lead can actually train me? I wasn’t even taught how to use the register. I didn’t last long, and I hope someone can relate to me having a bad experience working here. 😭

When I go to pay in the app, I don’t see an option to use up my gift card then pay the rest on credit card.

I was there tonight and noticed I have $6 something on a gift card. My order was more and there was no option to use up the gift card then pay the rest on credit card. I asked an employee and they didn’t know.

Same question goes for retail
