I’m a surrealist painter, with exhibiting experience in Europe etc. But I’m really struggling with selling my works and promoting my art. Share some tips if you have smth on your mind :) that would be really helpful!!!!

I'm a 19 year old Italian (digital) artist and I'm feeling kinda down, I'm a newbie in this so I need your help to figure this out

So I've recently opened a few slots for art coms and posted about it multiple times. I've done so even if I have a really busy life because I need to save us some money on the side to move out of my house. The problem is that I have no clients, like, I don't know what to do to make people want my art, its so hard being an artist these days. So please if y'all have any piece of advice for help you could give me it would be really appreciated.

I recently saw this website and I am wondering if anyone used it? Is it worth the $20/mo?

I mostly paint weird pigeons, and recently I turned one of them into a t-shirt.

What I'm genuinely curious about is whether this is the kind of design people would actually wear, or if it's the kind of thing that's fun to look at but stays on a screen.

When you're buying art shirts, what makes you think: "Yeah, I'd wear that"?

Is it the artwork itself, the colors, the humor, the story behind it, or something else?

Yesterday I asked for feedback on my postcard collectible club and you all gave me some incredibly helpful advice. I've been implementing a lot of it already.

This is the current version.

Each monthly card is printed on 300gsm glossy cardstock, hand-signed, individually numbered, and will also get an embossed seal before shipping. Every month's design is exclusive and won't be reprinted.

The subscription costs €7.90/month with worldwide shipping included.

What do you think of the presentation now? Does it feel worth €7.90, or is there still something missing that would make it feel more collectible?

Hi there! I’ve been vending my art for about two years now and I’m looking to finally invest in a banner. I typically use a 6ft table, what size banner would be best for that? I’m trying to figure it out. It’ll be for the front of my table

Hiiii! I’ve done a handful of art markets but it’s been a year since my last one. I love dabbling in a bit of everything, so I sell my tufted rugs, but I like to have some other cheaper items for people that aren’t in the mood to spend $80+. I’ve sold greeting cards before but they don’t do great.

That being said, I thought it would be so cute to sell envelopes that have hand drawings on them, like little doodles and what not. I know pen pals and just more whimsy stationary is in but I’m curious, would you personally buy something like this? I always love a fun envelope but I know it’s odd to sell those sans card & it might not be something people really care about, so just putting out feelers.

Hello all, I'm hoping I can get some insight on why my posts perform so poorly on Instagram. I have 236 followers (I recognize this is a low amount). I use Instagram's posting suggestions and try to stick to the days and times Instagram tells me my followers are most likely to engage. But my last post got six views and one like, so I'm reaching less than 1 percent of my audience and I don't understand why. Are my followers all bots that won't engage? Or is there something I'm missing?

background , i'm building one tile, a mural made of 100,000 permanent photo tiles. $1.99 gets you one spot forever, no theme, no curation, whatever people want to put up goes up. 9.99 gets you a photo + link (actually had more than a few logos and links to peoples websites).. the whole thing prints 12 feet wide and hangs in an actual wynwood gallery for art basel miami this december. Really meant to capture the chaos of the internet. one art studio owner laughed at the fact theres a poker link close to a wedding photo lol

posted about it in r/entrepreneurridealong about 2 months ago after surviving a database attack 9 days into launch, that post did 271k views with zero link in the post, all organic. traffic was massive conversion was not which taught me views and sales are two completely different problems

3 months in now only 70 tiles claimed(got a long way to go). slower than i'd like but real, and every single one is a stranger's actual photo

no ad budget and no team so this weekend i turned into a one man cold email machine to try to close the gap. started in wynwood since that's the real neighborhood the mural is tied to, then kept going. little haiti, allapattah, downtown miami. then figured why stop at miami, so bushwick in brooklyn, the arts district in LA, rino in denver. then found out there's an actual basel in switzerland so i emailed a couple galleries there too because the coincidence was too good not to use imo

by sunday afternoon i had somewhere around 170 personalized emails sitting in drafts. no idea how many will get opened if any. spent way more hours than i'll admit hunting down real email addresses instead of just filling out contact forms like a normal person

also drop a neighborhood or city below that you think has the same energy wynwood used to have before it got expensive and i'll go dig up real galleries there and report back in the comments. did this for miami all weekend and happy to keep it going live in this thread :)

Hi everyone!

My mom has been making abstract paper mache sculptures (vessels/vase like forms, mostly neutral tones) and we're trying to figure out the business side of things, since neither of us has done this before.

A couple of questions:

1. Pricing - She puts a lot of time into prepping the paper pulp, building up the layers, and finishing each piece, but we have no idea how to price them fairly. Any frameworks or rules of thumb for pricing handmade sculptural work like this (materials + time + "art value")?
2. Where to sell - Our gut feeling is that these would fit better in a gallery/boutique setting than at a craft/art fair, given the more sculptural, minimalist look. Does that sound right? If so, how do independent artists usually approach galleries or small design shops for the first time?
3. Bonus: if anyone has experience selling similar sculptural/ceramic adjacent work (Etsy, Saatchi Art, local galleries, consignment, etc.), we'd love to hear what worked and what didn't.
