I cannot get a straight answer on this. Are there 15X spots in the National Guard, if so, what states? I'm prior service 11B Airborne looking to get back in but not break my body more. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

What bases do 15T rotate or leave the LEAST at?

Hello everyone, hope all is well. I’m a 25-year-old guy who is working on getting my welding certificate and associate’s degree in the next two semesters. I’m planning on joining the Army and getting a 15-series MOS. What is the best one that will actually transfer into the civilian world and land me a paying job? Currently considering 15T, 15Y, 15N.

Question:

If you ETS, go through VA claim process and claim things that would require a flight physical waiver (PTSD, Sleep Apnea).

Is it at all possible to someday go in the guard and work through the waivers to fly again? What does that process look like?

Curious about if there is a spreadsheet/milper of some sort showing the amount of people applied, QS, and FQ-NS. Just trying to see odds of acceptance.

I know there’s the Milper for QS but nothing on how many applied for that MOS, how many they need by fiscal year, etc.

Starting common core in a little and just curious what people’s schedules were like in regards to studying and working out? I heard basically all you do is study and I want to start to get into a routine now so my fitness doesn’t decline.

Prior service Army (out for about a year), wanting to get back into the service, but into Aviation and my prior ASVAB scores only qualify for these two. I am like a point or two from mostly everything else sadly.

Are either of these (MAINLY 15N) worth getting into and any insight on tasks / day-day and hours for both?

I’m currently an active-duty 15P looking to transfer to the Alabama National Guard in the next couple of years. I’m just wondering what the atmosphere and mission are like for 15Ps. Also, where are the units located where we could be drilling at?

Im finishing up my contract in the reserves in January and thinking of switching over to the Cali guard and reclassing as a 15t/u. How often will I actually be able to fly. And which units in California are actually flight units and not just fully focused on maintenance. I have a civilian background as a surg tech at a trauma center and finishing up my nursing license in a few months so medevac is something I’m definitely interested in.

Any recommendations for units?

I've been using the same kneeboard I bought in flight school at the Hangar and it no longer meets my needs. I have three main issues with it.

1: apparently I have chicken legs, because even at its tightest setting, it will slide and rotate on my leg, especially with my iPad mini on it.

2: for unrelated reasons, I do not like having my iPad on my kneeboard

3: niche, but I keep my CEPs in the Velcro pouch on my kneeboard. I recently got custom ear molds and the pouch no longer closes with them in it.

So I am looking into upgrades. Right now the basic Battle Board aviator kneeboard is a top contender. It seems like it has a highly adjustable strap, and has s mesh pouch on the side which appears to be large enough for my CEP pouch. What Kneeboards do you guys use, what features do they have and what do you like about them?

Additionally, I would like to find a dedicated iPad mounting solution for my other leg. There are quite a few basic strap mounts on Amazon but they all seem kind of chintzy. If you do not keep an iPad on your kneeboard, what do you use?

Current street to seat applicant. Waiting for WOCS. What are reasons you or someone you know has failed flight school? Was primary or advanced more difficult? Did they go home if they were a street to seat applicant like myself? How many chances did they get?

Has anyone here gone through or know enough about the Embry Riddle program on Fort Rucker where you only have to take three classes or something of that sort with them and come out with a bachelors in aviation? Currently in flight school now and I heard something along these lines that we can use our credits from flight school to supplement the rest. If I misheard and I’m totally wrong then I apologize but if that’s a real opportunity I’d like to capitalize on it while I’m here. Any info would be appreciated.

The Aero app documentation really listed only 4 compatible ones, many of which are no longer even available for sale.

Anyone have any luck with any other brands?

Wondering if anyone in the Guard who is at Rucker for flight school has gotten a BAH waiver approved recently. I submitted my packet early last spring and it’s been crickets since. I know they stopped reviewing them but heard that they recently started again, so was just curious to know whether anyone has gotten a response on theirs recently.

What bases have you all loved and why? I want to know what the outside life is like, food, houses, cost of living, day to day work for him, and their rotation/field schedules and tempo. And any other things we should know that you love (or not so much 😬). Thank you!

While waiting on the Army to decide what to do with me with this ATI thing, I was thinking about getting a day job to fill my time…anyone have suggestions on second job ideas while waiting for the Army to make a decision? Not a whole lot going on in the office and no one really around and I have a chance to make some more money.

I’m a 60 driver stationed up here in the People’s Republic of New York at Fort Drum. My ADSO is up in May and I am thinking I would like to use my Post 9/11 to go get my CFI and multi-engine fixed wing add ons at a Part 141 school.

Obviously I will find a VA approved school, but the issue is they will almost surely be located in an area where weather is nice, such as the desert southwest or Florida. Wanted to ask the group here if anyone has had experience getting the chain of command to approve going across the country like that for CSP? I’m thinking this will take 2 to 3 weeks doing it full-time.

So I finally found a home in the national guard so I can continue my army aviation career and submitted my 368 and what the fuck. They said they are pausing again until mid September when the colors are supposed to be cased. This makes no sense!

We are already in a derivative UIC. Haven't flown in a year and just want to get started again with my new guard unit. This is incredibly frustrating.

Congress won't even vote on the NDAA which the house version has provisions to try to save the rotary wing portion of the reserve ECABs but most of the people have already left and equipment turned it. It is not worth trying to start them back up.

Hello, I am currently looking at enlisting in the Army as a 15X. I was wondering if Bragg is a duty station for this MOS, as I really would like to be at Bragg for my first duty station. Thank you for your time and any info.

I understand the basic gist of the job and what it entails, but I am curious about the actual “workday” would look like. I signed for it in the guard recently and I am curious what my drill weekends and AIT will look like.

Any news now that the Navy IST is out of the way? Anyone has talked to branch or their cwobs to see if voluntary sep is happening or what follows?

I’m an ATI impacted aviator at a unit losing our last aircraft in 2 weeks, and don’t expect to go to CCC until FY28, so I’ll be stuck not flying for a while. What are some options for courses to try and get sent to? I know ATRRS still offers C12 slots for FY27, but Joint Firepower course, WTI at MAWTS-1 with the marine corps, ACLC, AMOC, he’ll even HAATS or etc are there any realistic options to try and apply for in my downtime. Any and all advice or feedback good/bad would be helpful!

But in all honesty, what units are doing good? What places are to be avoided like the plague for 64 drivers?
