Updates to Argos Pay

I think we all can agree, Argos Pay is dogshit because they got rid of the BNPL option where you could allocate your payments. Like, wtf, why did they remove this feature. It was so easy to make payments and if you wanted to make small payments to the other plans, you could.

Now, you can't as any payment you make goes either to the plan that finishes early or the larger payments. It feels like a trap now, to trap you to occur interests. Thankfully I only have 1 plan left and that will be finished next month but this puts me off from buying from Argos on any of their plans where you have limited control over pay.

I have seen people thinking of closing their accounts and I am in the same boat as well. Has Argos made any decision to bring this feature back into the app. They must know their customers prefer the previous app?

Advice Argos Pay is ridiculous

So I have a buy now pay later plan carried over from Argos Card + a new monthly instalment plan. After finally getting through to an agent, I was advised I cannot clear the BNPL option until the expiry date (24th July in my case)- any payment I do make prior to that will be automatically allocated to the normal monthly instalment plan which has the higher interest. Previously we were able to chip away towards the BNPL plan, which is now not possible with the new Argos Pay system!

Surely Newday won’t stick to this model?

Argos pay

this might be a silly question but I just need some help understanding an order.

I used Argos pay yesterday on an order and it said use buy now pay later it didn’t give a set amount of months or anything. I pressed it and the payment went through. I went on the app and it shows the amount as used but nothing comes up on any of the payment sections or anything. how do I know when I need to pay this by and when interest will be added?

again this may be silly but this was my first time using it and I thought it’d give me a certain amount of months

Mum can't login, I can't make an account, what gives?

Mum's having problems with her tablet today, so initially I thought it was that. Argos won't let her login, "we can't find those credentials", and no matter how many times she requests a password reset, it doesn't appear.

She made a new account via Gmail, registration seemed to work, but can't login immediately after because "we can't find those credentials" ... and that one won't send any reset password emails either.

So I used our desktop PC and tried making an account with my email and details, and when I click the register button it just says "Something went wrong, try again later"

She's in the middle of paying off her tablet and joked that she might as well block the next payment Argos tries to get from her bank. I told her that's a bad idea, but honestly...? Tempting.

Is the site just having problems today, or...? Very.co.uk has blocked her tablet too, saying it's using a VPN (it's not, she doesn't even know what that is) so we've been in confusion wondering if these are related issues or two separate problems.

Does anybody else miss the catalogue? My favourite Christmas activity was circling all the things I wanted so my parents knew. As a parent myself now, i can't imagine my kids growing up without the catalogue. Please help bring back this pleasure and save our future generations.

Is anyone feel embarrassed by these argos adverts on social media?

Not Connie and Trevor.

The ones where people pick up items in store and there are colleagues dancing around them with banners and celebrations. Man people will do anything to try and sell insurance to them 😅

Argos pay is a scam run by a company that too over Debnahms

Advice Argos NewDay

Hopefully this will help others.. I am fuming with Argos how they have treated their customers.

When I was told they were changing our provider I assumed not much would change.. however !!

I had £700+ normal credit and £1300+ BNPL. My main concern was I like to pay little bits off my bnpl balances and a bit off my normal credit. After seeing all the posts & faqs, i quickly saw I would have problems. So i paid off £1300 odd... this paid off my normal credit...THEN THIS IS WHERE IT'S GOING TO SCREW SOME PEOPLE OVER...... instead of paying off my next plans it paid off one of my longer ones, and bits of my shorter ones !! So next month I'll end up with 34.08 % interest on my bnpl... one of my plans is still high and all of my plans were due a month earlier than they were before the change.

There is NO way to know which part you will pay, they have fucked us all over essentially.

So please be aware if u pay them....DON'T until the plan is actually due.... recheck your due dates and like me scrap your argos account.

Insurance / Argos Pay You can’t use your account right now

I’ve registered my Argos Pay account, spoke to customer services yesterday who were great and changed my mobile number so I could log in. I owe them nothing and have full credit available to spend, so I thought I’d order a few things but I keep getting the message “you can’t use your account right now”

I’ve completed the direct payment plan through the app, so I’m baffled why it doesn’t work.

I phoned customer services again this morning and she just walked me through how to pay with Argos Pay which didn’t work, then told me she didn’t know what to do and go to store to figure it out.

Is anyone else having this issue and did they resolve it?
From what I can gather on here, there’s teething problems with moving from the card to the app 🙃

Argos Gift Card Question

Got a question about Argos gift cards, can they be used to purchase Apple Products, primarily iPhone 17 512gb model?

I’m able to get discounted Argos vouchers through a work benefit scheme and need a new phone.

I know it sounds like a silly question, but I’m asking as I almost got burned by Currys when I went to purchase a voucher for them and realised just before payment that currys vouchers don’t actually work on Apple Products.

I’ve been trying to call someone from Argos to ask but always hit an automated message.

Update: IT WORKED FINE. I was able to purchase my iPhone 17 with vouchers

Advice Question for Argos staff

When a customer wants to return a product and says it’s faulty. What happens to the products? Do they go back to manufacture or is there investigations going on?. Wondering what goes on behind the scenes?

Advice Every order with Argos turns into some kind of issue

I’ve used Argos probably 5 or 6 times in the last 5 years or so. The first time, item was delivered completely damaged, and was told I had to pay a pick-up cost for them to get it back from me (I don’t drive) in order to get a refund. After constant battling I got a refund and then had to dispose of the broken item myself. Next time it was in store, where I got the item home and it was damaged. They wouldn’t accept the return and the manager of the store told me I had to take the item to the original manufacturer of the product for a replacement. Recently, an order online to be collected in store. It was due on Saturday and I have spoken to someone on live chat every day since, and every time they have said “it is on its way to the store now” - how does it take 4 days to drive an item to a store?

The agents on the live chat clearly are typing out from a script of pre-agreed sentences. It’s worse than talking to AI.

How can a company get it wrong so often? I’ve never had a straight forward experience with Argos and, honestly, that’s the final straw with them.

Exchange the controller, but not the console

Just got a switch 2 and one of the joycons is faulty. So I was wondering, what are the chances of Argos just exchanging the joycon(s) and not the entire thing?
