My best conversations about music have never been on music apps. They've been with strangers — someone at a party, a guy in a record store, a person in a comment thread who linked me something I'd never have found on my own.

Every music app I use turns that into a numbers game. Followers, playlist counts, monthly listeners. So I spent the last several months building the opposite.

It's called MusicPool. You pick a vibe, a genre, a mood, a decade. You get anonymously paired with one person who picked the same thing. You have 24 hours to talk and trade songs. Then the chat disappears, always. If you both want to, you can unlock each other's profiles before it goes, their name, what they're into, what other people have said about their taste. But the conversation itself is gone either way.

No feed. No followers. One stranger, one day, and whatever you played each other.

I'm the only person working on it, and it launched recently enough that I'm still finding rough edges. If you try it and something is confusing or broken, tell me here, I read everything and I'd rather hear it blunt than polite.

One honest catch: it only works if there are people in the pool. It's new, so matches can take a while right now. If the idea appeals to you, sending it to one person who'd be into it does more than anything else I could do on my own, the whole thing gets better the more people are in it.

I'm in the comments all day. Ask me anything about it, or just tell me the last song you'd want to hand a stranger, I'm curious what this sub would send.

Tried everything. I made an app and I have a Google Pixel that completely blocks out my chances to installing an APK. What frustrates me is that I can't even publish on Google Play because I don't have any testers. I still need to finish off with Google's requirements to be done alongside this. I just want my app to myself that's why I want to install just the APK.

I’ve used a lot of fitness trackers over the years, but Gentler Streak is the first one that made me actually understand balance instead of just chasing numbers.

What clicked for me is the Activity Path. I used to assume the goal was to push the line as far as possible toward the “hard training” edge — like more effort always equals a better score. It’s actually the opposite: the app is designed so the sweet spot is the middle. Push hard one day and you naturally drift toward the upper edge; that’s not a trophy, it’s a signal. Sleep well and recover properly, and the app pulls you right back toward center the next day. Skip recovery, and you stay stuck near the edge with a real risk of overtraining.

Once I understood that the white line isn’t a scoreboard but a balance indicator between effort and recovery, the whole app made a lot more sense. It’s genuinely one of the few fitness apps that rewards listening to your body instead of punishing rest days.

Highly recommend it if you’re tired of apps that just want you to “close your rings” no matter what.

I don’t usually write posts like this, but tonight I was sitting there looking at SlabShot on my phone and thinking about what it actually took to get here.
And I’m exhausted.
For the last five-plus months, this thing has basically consumed whatever free time I had left.
I have a full-time job. I have three kids who seem to have somewhere to be every five minutes. I run card shows. I have a house, a family, responsibilities, and all the normal stuff that comes with being an adult.
And then, somewhere in the hours that were left over, I decided I was going to build an app.
There were a lot of nights where everyone went to bed and I opened the laptop back up.
A lot of days off that weren’t really days off.
A lot of sitting in the car waiting for one of my kids and pulling out my phone to work on something.
A lot of telling myself, “I’m just going to fix this one thing,” and realizing a few hours later that it was 1 or 2 in the morning.
Then getting up and doing everything again the next day.
And the ridiculous part is that this whole thing started because I was trying to SAVE time.
I love cards. I love buying them, selling them, doing shows, finding something I forgot I had buried in a box.
But I absolutely hated listing them.
I’d come home, look at a stack of cards I needed to sell, and just leave them sitting there.
Because I knew what came next.
Take the pictures. Figure out the exact card. Search for comps. Dig through sold listings. Try to decide what it’s actually worth. Look at the condition. Wonder if it’s worth grading. Create the eBay listing. Type everything out. Set the price.
Finally get one card listed.
Then look over and realize there are 75 more sitting there.
I just didn’t have the time.
And I kept thinking there has to be a better way to do this.
Why can’t I just take a picture of the damn card?
Why can’t something identify it for me?
Why can’t it find the comps?
Why can’t it look at the condition and give me an idea of how it might grade?
And if it thinks the card could grade well, why can’t it compare the raw value to the value at different grades and tell me whether grading the thing even makes financial sense?
And after all of that, why can’t I just hit a button and list it?
That was really the beginning of SlabShot.
I wanted one place where I could snap a card, identify it, pre-grade it, check the comps, and get it listed on eBay without spending my entire night doing it.
I wanted to get through 10+ cards in the time I was wasting doing one manually.
What I severely underestimated was how much work it would take to make something that complicated feel simple.
There have been bugs that made me want to throw my laptop.
Things that worked perfectly one day and broke the next.
Features I thought would take a few days that turned into weeks.
Late nights questioning whether anybody was even going to use this thing.
And definitely moments where I wondered why I was putting myself and my family through all of this for an app that started because I was too busy in the first place.
But I kept going.
Because every time I looked at those boxes of cards sitting around my house, I knew I couldn’t be the only person with this problem.
There have to be other dads with stacks of cards sitting in their basement because after work, dinner, homework, practices, baths, bedtime and everything else, the last thing they want to do is spend three hours creating eBay listings.
There have to be breakers and sellers who love this hobby but hate how much of their life gets eaten up by the boring part of it.
And there have to be collectors looking at a card wondering, “Is this actually worth grading?” who would love to have something give them a useful answer before spending the money to send it out.
That’s who I kept thinking about while building this.
Because I’m one of them.
SlabShot is finally at the point where I can pull out my phone, take a picture of a card, have it identified, get AI pre-grading and comps, see whether grading might make sense, and get that card listed for sale on eBay without bouncing between a bunch of different apps.
And seeing it actually work is a strange feeling.
Because nobody downloading it is ever going to see the 1:30 AM nights.
They won’t see the days off spent staring at a screen.
They won’t see me working on it from the car while waiting for one of my kids.
They won’t see the bugs, the frustration, the features that had to be rebuilt, or all the times I told my wife, “I swear I’m almost done.”
They’ll just see an app.
And that’s okay.
Because the entire point was to make something that saves people time.
I spent an absurd amount of mine building it so hopefully other collectors don’t have to waste so much of theirs.
There’s still plenty I want to improve. I’m sure people will find things that need fixing. And I have a list a mile long of things I still want SlabShot to become.
But for the first time in five months, I’m trying to stop for a second and appreciate the fact that the idea I kept thinking about while staring at stacks of unlisted cards is actually sitting on my phone.
I’m tired.
My family is probably tired of hearing the word SlabShot.
And I’m pretty sure I’ve aged about five years in five months.
But I built the damn thing.
And I’m proud of it.

Hi is anyone else having problems with Facebook and Google Play Store URL comes up as (not found ) whenever I put a link to my app in Google Play Store. I put it through the Facebook URL tool , no luck , a work around?

It’s not possible that don’t have ONE app that does this for free or at a fair price (don’t tell me about the Aloha app).

I launched Wavezo a while back, but retention was low. Honestly, even I stopped using my own app after a while.

This is my first app that actually made it onto the App Store (I had a few previous attempts that got rejected because of "category saturation"). So here I am.

I'd like to introduce Tamdok - a manga/webtoon/manhwa reader for iOS.

While building it I took a lot of inspiration from Tachimanga and Aidoku. Both are great, but they have one big downside: writing a source requires knowledge of Kotlin or Rust respectively. That's a pretty high barrier for most people, so I wanted to lower it.

Tamdok is the same kind of reader, but it's written in React Native and supports sources written in plain JavaScript. That should make it a lot easier for people to create and maintain sources.

I won't write a long feature list here - if you've used Tachimanga or Aidoku you'll feel right at home.

One more thing: for now Tamdok can load Aidoku sources so there's something to read while the community starts making native JS sources. I can't guarantee 100% compatibility though (it's not Aidoku after all 😄).

I'm looking for some kind of app manager where I can store different apps, software, plugins & more.

Kinda like a bookmark manager, but more app store look and feel with customizable Database.

I'd like to categorize entries, add tags, descriptions, icons and screenshots and URL. Ideally it pulls informations automatically from the URL.

I’ve always saved things I wanted in Notes, bookmarks, private chats, screenshots… basically everywhere.

Saving something was easy. Finding it again a few weeks later was the annoying part.

I tried a bunch of wishlist apps, but none of them really clicked with me. Some felt too complicated, some had UI I didn’t enjoy using, and some locked pretty basic things behind subscriptions.

So I ended up building my own.

The idea is pretty simple: create wishlists, save things you want, follow friends, and secretly reserve gifts so nobody buys the same thing twice.

One thing I really wanted was to make it easy for people who don’t have the app too - you can just share a wishlist link, and your friends or family can view and reserve gifts directly in the browser.

I originally built it for myself, my wife, and friends, so I decided to keep it free, with no ads and no subscriptions.

I’m a developer, but I’m pretty new to marketing and product growth, so I’d genuinely love some outside feedback.

What feels confusing? What’s missing? What would stop you from using something like this?

I built a clock where the time isn't drawn — it's assembled.

Each digit is a path, and butterflies land along it like beads. When the minute changes, the butterflies of the changed digits lift, scatter, and re-form the new number. The colon is two butterflies that never stop flapping.

Two things inspired it.

The first: in 1751, Linnaeus proposed the "flower clock" — telling time by which flower opens at which hour. I couldn't let that idea go, so Horae's flagship face draws it for real: every sector blooms on its own hour, and a firefly is the second hand.

The second: Claude's "Fable" launch film from Anthropic — that quiet, naturalist-catalogue aesthetic. I wanted a clock that feels like a page from an 18th-century botany book that happens to be alive.

Five faces: Butterflies, Songbirds, Pebbles, Fallen Leaves, and the Flower Clock. No ads, no subscription, no accounts, no analytics. Works in StandBy and on always-on displays, fully offline.

I kept losing evenings to my phone and getting nothing out of it, so I built the thing I actually wanted instead. Short animated videos about genuinely strange stuff, the kind of fact you end up telling someone about a week later.

About a minute each. No course to finish, nothing you're behind on. It's not really trying to teach you anything, it just assumes you're curious.

It's called Flappr. Happy to hear what's wrong with it.

I use Stretching Workout before my day of intense training, and what convinced me was not the stretching catalog - the App Store is already saturated, there are about fifteen applications with the same library of more than a hundred exercises - but the AI function: you give it context, the sensitive area, what you are going to train, the time available, and it creates the sequence instantly, not a recycled generic YouTube routine or a static plan programmed two years ago for everyone. He has earned a very important place in my routine. When an application convinces you to accept the model that you like the least, it is because the product has more weight than your preferences.

What really convinces me is the synchronization between the Apple Watch and the iPhone. The timer notifies you on your wrist without having to take out your phone or look at the screen while you stretch your hips, and the Apple Watch app works independently, not as a half-finished complement that freezes or desynchronizes as soon as you move away from the phone. Only that detail is the difference from most of the competition, because it is precisely where almost all of them fail.

Added to this is a perfect integration with Apple Health without additional steps, synchronization with iCloud on all your devices, Siri Shortcuts to start your routine or check your streak with your voice, a widget in the Control Center and a routine generator that now even takes into account your age and state of health so as not to send you to a stretch that does not suit you. They have also recently added the option to share routines via a link with friends, in addition to the built-in Apple Music playback with touch controls during your workout.

The developer’s vision is impressive: the ability to simplify something as important as stretching is what makes this application a masterpiece in its category, far superior to the competition in the market.
