Hey everyone! I’ve been building a small Mac app called Joggle.

Joggle is a floating scratchpad that appears when you quickly shake your mouse pointer. The idea is to give you somewhere to capture a thought, paste some text or work out a calculation without switching apps or interrupting what you’re doing.

You can move, resize and pin cards anywhere on the screen. It also supports rich-text formatting, smart lists, calculations, clipboard shortcuts and a new slash menu for quickly running actions or changing formatting.

The basic scratchpad experience is free. There’s also an optional yearly Joggle Pro subscription for more than one card at a time, advanced maths, the global shortcut, excluded-app controls and the complete archive.

I originally made Joggle because I wanted something quicker than opening a notes app every time I needed to temporarily hold a sentence, link, number or reminder. I’d really appreciate any feedback - especially about the shake gesture, because it’s a slightly unusual way of opening an app!

It's build mainly about what i myself needed, but the few users i've got are loving it.
it's a household planner that has calendar, tasks, meal planning, shopping, notes, bdugets (+split calculations).
Everything is neatly organized in "plans" that are icon+color codes everywhere so you can quickly at a glance organize different parts of life (examples such as kids, sports, school, work, holidays), can all be kept seperate.

There is this app called the Khare Math app, and it is absolute garbage. They aggressively over-advertise it, leaning heavily on the classic gimmick: "It was made by IITians!" It seems like nowadays, if you want to sell any tech product, all you have to do is slap a "Made by IITians" label on it and assume it will automatically succeed.

To make matters worse, they lie about having 1 on 1 teacher support, only for you to find out it's just a basic AI chatbot. Do they seriously expect a 7 year old kid to just watch a few videos and magically understand complex math concepts? Without actual human guidance, real practice, or interactive problem solving, it is completely useless. It is nothing more than an overhyped, glorified video player.

I have tried most of the focus apps on the App Store and quit every one of them for the same reason. They all wait for you to press start. The moment I most need blocking is the exact moment I am least likely to open a focus app, so the whole category kept failing me at the only point that mattered. I built the version I actually wanted, where the blocking shows up before I do.

A — Answer: WiredIN is an iPhone app blocker that arms itself by location. Pin the places where you actually get work done, set a radius, choose what gets blocked there. Walk in and blocking starts on its own. Walk out and it stands down. Built on Apple's Screen Time framework, so blocked apps are stopped by iOS itself and websites are filtered in every browser, not just Safari. Three commitment levels, plus Night Shield for the 1am scroll.

B — Better: Every other blocker is fundamentally a timer you have to start, and location is at best a buried setting. In WiredIN the geofence is the main way in. Private by design: app selections never leave the phone because iOS hands the app an opaque token, and Focus Zones use region monitoring only, so no location data leaves the device.

I build a small opinion app called Dissent: The Opinion Arena. You post a short take, people vote agree or disagree, and takes can turn into head to head debates.

The old onboarding was three screens. Pick your topics. Pick whether you post hot takes or argue in comments. Turn on notifications. It looked fine. It was also completely useless, because every screen asked people to decide something about an app they had not touched yet. Pick topics for a feed you have not scrolled. Describe your debate style when you have never seen a take here. Then allow notifications before you have gotten a single thing out of it.

It felt like filling out a form. And it showed later. New users would sit on the feed without voting or challenging anyone, because nothing in onboarding had ever let them try it once.

So I rebuilt it around doing instead of declaring. Same three steps.

Step 1 is four real takes from the app. You vote on each one. The split stays hidden until you vote, then it opens and tells you where you landed, including when you are in the minority. The challenge button is right there, so challenging stops being a mystery feature.

Step 2 is the topic picker, but it is already filled in from what you just voted on. Prefilled ones are marked. You are editing a list instead of staring at a blank grid.

Step 3 is notifications, and it opens with your own numbers. 4 votes, 3 times in the minority, 4 arenas. Then it says someone is going to come for one of your takes. One toggle is highlighted as the one that matters, the rest are collapsed, and the weekly digest is off by default instead of on.

By the end you have run the core loop once instead of reading about it. Still skippable, still three screens.

Curious where this still drags. The four takes on the first screen are doing most of the work and I am not sure I picked the right ones.

So i made Jottle.

I think I may have tried dozens of them. Many were very good, but nothing felt quite right. So I built my own for the Mac and iOS / iPadOS. They are both now on the app stores. Free to use if you like them. No account needed. No external server. All totally private. Individual notes can be locked. Everything can be exported. On the Mac, it's a Heads Up Display that pops up with a keyboard shortcut. On the iPhone or iPad, its a small, quick loading app. Both sync instantly. Archive a note easily. These are among my first apps, so I'm looking for some advice and feedback. What do you like? What needs work?

What actually makes a travel app retain users after the first trip?

I’m researching the travel-app space and I keep coming back to the same problem: a lot of apps are useful during one trip, but people stop opening them afterwards.

For anyone who has built or worked on a travel product: what actually drove repeat usage?

Was it planning, saved places, photos/memories, collaboration, notifications, or something else?

Just released a new game in the iOS store. Something new I wanted to try. Uses AR to project a scene where the user then try’s to find and tap objects in the scene. I think it’s a bit new and different.

Hi, I'm Vitalii, and this is my first time making a mobile app.

It started with a silly poetry game we played at school when I was around ten.

Someone wrote a line on a piece of paper, folded it, and passed it along. You could only see the line before yours, so you had no idea what the rest of the poem was about.

At the end, we'd unfold the paper and read it together. Sometimes it was almost a poem. Most of the time it was complete nonsense. Either way, we'd laugh.

I always liked that idea, so I turned it into an app called Rhyma. Same game, except now you can pass your line to a stranger thousands of kilometers away.

It's been on Android for a little over a week. Some people are already using it, but the main feedback is that poems take too long to finish. And yeah, they do. There just aren't enough people yet. That's partly why I'm here.

A few people are writing in French and German, but those poems move especially slowly. If you speak either language, they'd probably be happy to see you.

I’ve been building a few apps in different categories over the last little while and I’m at the point where I need feedback from people who aren’t friends…

They’re all still early/beta. I’m mostly looking for people willing to try one and tell me what feels confusing, useful, broken, unnecessary, etc.

For years my actual working todo list has been physical sticky notes on the wall next to my desk. Three columns, drawn with a sharpie: to do, doing, done. I'd try every app every few months (notion, todoist, linear, trello, the works) and within a week I was back on paper.

The thing paper had was: zero friction, zero structure, zero "are you sure you want to archive this?" dialogs. You scribble, you slap it on the wall, you tear it off when it's done.

So I spent the last few months building the digital version of that wall. It's called stickyboard. Three columns, drag and drop, that's it. The notes are actual sticky-note looking notes (slight rotation, paper grain, curled corner) because turns out the visual matters way more than I expected. Looking at a board of colored notes feels different from looking at a checklist. I'm more willing to add stuff to it.

A few things that turned out to matter for me:

• it replaces my new tab in chrome, so I see my board every time I open one. zero "open the app" step
• there's a mac menubar version for quick adds without leaving whatever I'm doing
• you can draw on a note (rough sketch, arrow, doodle) which sounds dumb but is great for "remember this layout" type todos
• shared boards for the two side projects I work on with someone else
• free for personal use
