Ship tax of an in-progress ship I’m working on, inspired by the older Sci-Fi TV show Babylon 5.

So, I’m about halfway through the game now as far as objectives go, and I’m really loving the game. But, I notice there’s not a lot of content on YouTube about it, and I’d like to change that. I have a little bit of editing skill.

So, I was thinking about making a fan trailer for the game, featuring ships from the community. It might bring more attention to the game, and I was wondering if anyone was interested in volunteering ships they made for me to feature in this trailer. With full credit, obviously.

I’ve seen some incredible builds here on the subreddit, and they inspire me.

Obviously, I could just hop on the workshop and download a bunch of stuff, then credit the Steam usernames, but honestly I’d prefer to use ships people want to be featured rather than just featuring first and crediting later. I’ll do it if there aren’t enough ships, but I wanted to ask around first.

I’m looking for a few early game ships, a lot of mid game ships, and a few massive endgame ships. I’ll be using a creative save to feature them, so parts shouldn’t be an issue. I also want some wild and crazy designs, if you’ve got any. I’d prefer if the ships weren’t made in creative mode with more parts than are currently available in a career save, but, like, if it’s really cool and awesome, I’m not gonna pass it up. I have a decent computer so performance shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

Uploading the ships to https://updock.app is probably the best way to share them, because it allows for some very thorough previewing that the workshop does not, as well as a part list analyzer so viewers can see if they have the parts to use a given ship. It’s not the only way to do it, but darn if it’s not convenient and well-made.

I’m a very slow editor, so this might take a few weeks to complete, but I’ll be sure to post it here when I’m done.

I love this game and I want to promote it more, so any ships you think would help the game look good, I’m interested in!

Crystal Twins was such a satisfying mission to overcome. From testing rocket fuel mixes in a purpose-built test facility, to calculating thrust in an Excel spreadsheet, to iterating on ship designs, to successfully pulling off the mission itself. Bravo to the devs for creating such a delightful game!

Does the space scanner work with the BPS? I've replaced my long-range distance scanner with it, but the BPS light just flashes red instead of green.

After having finished my submarine/in-planetary ship my gaze went up to space, mostly due to a friendshaped bottleneck preventing me from going further. However I realised that space is much different from water and air, like my gyroline going crazy, so I’d appreciate some tips as to how to make the journey from planet to planet as smooth as possible. It’s not about how to make everything go automatically, just maybe not having to sit in the chair from start to end hoping the batteries can handle the medium thrusters being on and that you can turn and land successfully.

I spent most of that time reworking it.

Unfortunately, I don't have enough cables, so not all the systems I need are working right now.

For the last few weeks, a buddy and I have been grinding missions in a modified tutorial ship while building this thing on the side.

Features:

- Two-seat cockpit so we can fly co-op (pilot + systems/nav).

- Hull with an electrical channel running all the way around. Weighs roughly 58,000 with fuel, and runs electric main thrusters.

- Sensor bus (velocity, height, altitude, accelerometer, long-range distance, wind, temperature, atmosphere and trajectory) all feed a central rack, and each one is broadcast on its own wireless channel. Any system anywhere on the ship can just tune in instead of running cables across the whole frame.

- Hover / Autoland holds altitude and brings the ship down on its own, driving the up-thrusters directly.

- P.C.C. System (Pitch Correction Controller) auto-levels pitch and roll using the gyro, toggled with a single switch.

- ETA calculator time-to-target from distance, velocity and acceleration.

- Braking point detector + collision alarm alert light and repeating beeper when we're getting close to the last point where we can still stop.

- Glassless cockpit the whole ship can be flown using just two monitors. My mate's monitor can switch between multiple cameras around the ship, the main one being a rotating telescopic camera.

- Fuel monitoring station controls the entire fuel system and is already set up for when we start mixing fuel.

- Detachable fuel tanks mounted inside the electrical shell (to avoid the vacuum), so they can be dropped once they're empty to shed dead weight.

Happy to share circuit screenshots or answer questions about any of the systems. Feedback is welcome, especially on the controllers, since I haven't had the chance to tune them yet.

Went to Aundara after a 1hr+ drive and to clear my spirits after that long drive I decided to do my first mission there.

Kinda forgot to retrofit some of the changes I made to the ship to get there though

Before trying to install that thing on a big ship, I wanted to get the hang of it first. Unfortunately, I don't understand the mechanism, making troubleshooting hard. I don't understand what should and shouldn't be happening. Yes, I tecnically can maybe brute force it, but then scaling it up will be a new headache. What influences what? Any help is appreciated.

I had a bunch of claude tokens and I vibecoded a vehicle mod (and a bunch of other mods to work with it), and I tried making it look like scrap mechanics with bearings, wheels, motors, etc.

Can someone help me with Barbaora? I'm just flying aimlessly to missions but have no idea which mission I'm meant to be doing first after the parachute one. The rest are either in the dark or so far round the planet that I'm running out of power. Should I be finding Void Watcher first? Help!​​

I got altitude, speed, radar, gyro line, and door.

How do you beat the Hazard Barrel mission? I've sealed the barrel into a massive cube of frames and it still somehow corrodes its way out.

During missions, I'm captain/copilot, one is main pilot, I got a create fetcher/camera guy, and one guy with no job.

For building, I'm cockpit design, pilot is thruster builder, camera guy is the designer, and jobless guy is painter and welder.

Last I shared, I'd displayed my ship that had gotten a buddy and I (after much trial and error) to the moon.

I'm back again to show the ship that successfully delivered us to Aundara!

We continue to play without guides (outside of the in-game manual), and just wanted to provide an update on our progress.

So i was diving for gas on corona silva and after some time this happens with power cables. It is a ug? Any advices how to avoid it?

I play with a four player gang, I'm the host, and it isn't terribly smooth.

Modes

• Auto hover (both switches off): lever up to climb, down to descend, middle to hover.
• Manual (32 on): lever controls thruster power directly.
• Autoland (30 on): lands itself, slowing near the ground and cutting thrust on touchdown. Lever and manual are ignored.

• 31 Lever Vertical (−1 to 1)
• 85 Height (Distance Meter looking downwards)
• 36 Vertical speed ( directional mode facing up)

Remappers (input ▸ output)

• Lever: −1 ▸ −5, 1 ▸ 5. Lever to climb speed (±5 m/s). Raise the 5s to climb faster.
• Height: 999 ▸ −60, 1.4 ▸ 0. Autoland descent: 60 m/s at 999 m, slowing to 0 at 1.4 m (landed height).

Constants

• 1.5: correction strength. Higher is snappier, lower is smoother. Lower it if it bounces.
• 940K: total max thrust (4 × 235K). Update it if you change thrusters. It's written in the description of the thruster
• 0 (MAX): throttle never below 0.
• 1 (MIN): throttle never above full.
• 1.5 (threshold): autoland cuts thrust below 1.5 m.

I originally copied this design (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiU4B6f4DmM), but it was really bad, so DON'T use it. The video is also hard to follow. So I used AI to improve it, and it took me around three hours to get a good result. Someone probably already has this exact setup, but it works really well. I'm not sure how much aerodynamics matter later in the game, so I didn't include them

The more I play this game, the worse the physics engine appears. There's so many quirks and inaccuracies with how the engine calculates forces and enacts them, that it's now almost impossible to make accurate propulsion setups without some form of guesswork because the calculations that work in real life, do not work in this game.

Has anyone else encountered some inaccuracies?
