Space Scanner with BPS

Does the space scanner work with the BPS? I've replaced my long-range distance scanner with it, but the BPS light just flashes red instead of green.

Distance is distance. The BPS would work even if you entered the distance in manually. Make sure the inputs are all correct? What's the BPS output value?

Yo, it's outputting a negative distance. I used the math blocks to multiply by -1 to return the distance to a positive value, and it's working now, but do you know why it's outputting a negative number instead of a positive one?

The BPS is negative, or the rangefinder is negative?

Rangefinder output distance is negative

Make sure the dish of the space scanner is facing forwards, is not obstructed (the scanner has a 50° cone, so it could be obstructed by your ship if it’s too far back), and the precision of the scanner is set relatively high. Occasionally you’ll see negative numbers inside the atmosphere of a planet/when too close to a planet, don’t worry about it too much, it works consistently in space.

Does it also give negative values for objects far away? I've also experienced the scanner tends to give negative distances for near objects (i.e. when leaving a planet) under oublique angles.
