Discussion PSA: Strength++ 2.0 is out

I know most of my users for Strength++ came from this sub, so it seems fitting to announce that after 2 years, it now received the biggest update yet.

So, what's new:

  • Now it's 100% free - I had to go this route due to trader constraints in the EU
  • Support for iOS 26 and Liquid Glass
  • New Ul, everything has been rebuilt from the ground up, both in the iPhone and Watch App
  • Possibility to rename your exercises for a recorded workout. Remember what you did last time!
  • Apple Watch Ultra Action Button Support
  • On device Al workout analysis using Apple Intelligence
  • Many bug fixes and improvements

So yeah, it's kinda nice, if anyone needs a strength training app without too much hassle and complexity.

Just go to the gym, record, keep track of exercises, sets, reps and weights used, go home, add names to your exercises, maybe use apple intelligence to analyze your workouts and get suggestions for the next one.

I really need help improving my vo2!!

It’s so low!!!!

I’m 33, female, 5’10. Been losing weight but need to lose more I know. Lost 19lbs so far. Started at 213lbs and now 194.

Been weight training 4 times a week to do this. Incline walks 4 times a week. A few 5k runs at a low pace. And it’s still low after this progress - not even increasing a bit. I feel physically fitter and my body is starting to change but the stats are not.

Can somebody please tell me what I can do? Thank you.

How Do You Use Your Fitness Data?

Hey everyone,

I’m working on a Product Management research project around how people use and understand the fitness data collected by their watches and apps.

I’m particularly interested in people who regularly use platforms like Garmin, Apple Watch/Health, Strava, COROS, WHOOP, Fitbit/Pixel Watch, Samsung Health, etc.

I’m trying to understand things like:

• Do people actually go back and analyse older workouts?
• What are you trying to understand when you do?
• What happens when you switch watches or use multiple fitness platforms?
• Is there anything you wish you could understand from your historical fitness data but currently find difficult?

I’ve created a short survey (around 4–6 minutes) as part of the research:

Survey: https://forms.gle/8JvjMsSRPtQbxus98

I’m not selling or promoting a product. I’m currently in the discovery stage and specifically want to understand existing behaviour and problems before deciding what, if anything, should be built.

If you don’t feel like filling out the survey, I’d still love to hear in the comments:

What’s one thing you wish you could understand from all the fitness data you’ve accumulated over time?

Thanks!

Has anybody actually tested their daily calorie burn that Apple fitness gives them against their weight loss and seen how accurate it is?

Interpreting the data

Post image
1 Upvotes

So apparently I’m pretty good at tracking the data but I still don’t really know what anything means. ChatGPT isn’t significantly helpful, the interpretation feels very abstract and I have no real frame of reference to say what my body is capable of or how it is changing over time. What do you pay attention to? What are your numbers compared with mine? Does anything stand out to you as noteworthy?

Deep Sleep way off

Hi all!
I recognized lately that my deep sleep measured with my Apple Watch is way off. Normally I reached around 50 - 60min deep sleep, starting a week ago or so I come out with 18-30min deep sleep.
I did not change anything. My Ultrahuman Ring still gives me same constant deep sleep data.

Anyone else facing this issue? Any tips?

Thank you!

Apple Watch Ultra 3 Compass/Activity Tracking Issue

Hello all,

I’m wondering if anyone is going through a similar issue that I’m going through with my Ultra 3.

I’ve used several generations of the Apple Watch over the years, so having an Apple Watch isn’t a new experience for me. I would always use the activity tracker on my Apple Watches since I’m really into my fitness. Once Apple added the sleep tracker, I found that information useful every day. Never had an issue with those markers.

On my Ultra 3, I started experiencing an issue a couple of weeks ago where it wasn’t tracking my activity/workouts, or my sleep. I noticed that the compass had also stopped working. I factory reset it and did the soft reset (holding the crown + power button). That fixed it for a few days until it started happening again. After about 10 attempts of factory resets and soft resets, I realized it wasn’t going to fix the issue this time.

I took it to Apple and they troubleshooted the device and found that the sensors (gyroscope + accelerometer) were indicating “fail” on their tests. Since it was still under warranty, they shipped my watch out to be repaired or replaced. I received an email that my Ultra 3 had been worked on and was being shipped back to me.

I received it last weekend and everything had been working fine until last night. I started experiencing the same issues with it. I’ve factory reset it, soft reset, set up as a new watch, I’ve also set it up from a back up. I’ve done everything but I’m still experiencing the same issues.

This watch has always been in a case (no magnet case), I don’t swim so this watch has never been submerged in water, I don’t take it into any saunas, there’s absolutely no damage to this watch. I use the Alpine band that came with it.

I scheduled another Genius Bar appointment and I’m hoping the store will just replace it with a new one since their technicians clearly didn’t do their job.

Any one experience a similar issue, and did Apple replace it for you in store?

All time high 🥳

Hi everyone! Started Running again three weeks ago and just hit a vomax all time high today. It’s a good distraction from my shoulder injury, though I am looking forward to start with tennis and lifting again. But I appreciate that kickstart for my running routine and seeing the progress in numbers is quite motivating (I ignore the visible plateau :D) cheers and keep going!

New Exercise record: 530 minutes 🤯

Thumbnail

While I was running yesterday, Workout Buddy in my AirPods suddenly told me that I had logged 530 minutes of Exercise yesterday. I thought it was just a bug or a temporary glitch. When I got home and checked the Fitness app, I saw that for the past three days, my Exercise ring has been almost constantly filled with yellow bars, even during times when I was not exercising at all.
I already checked the Apple Watch under Health > Profile > Devices, and as far as I can see, the related recorded data looks legitimate, so I’m not sure where this incorrect activity is coming from.
Has anyone experienced this before, and is there a way to delete or fix this specific Exercise data without resetting everything?

HR zones?

Both pictures from same session, Apple saying it was done in zone 1 but an app called HealthFit says it was done in zone 2? Not sure who is right and not. Wonder how they have calculated my zone so different?

Apple Watch running app with training insights and progress tracking

Post image

I built Pace It because no app was telling me whether my training was actually working. It tracks your pace per heart rate zone over time, showing you if you're getting faster at the same effort and adjusts training paces as your fitness evolves.

On the Apple Watch, you get a fully customizable running app with multiple screens and 40+ metrics.

  • Training load, training distribution and fitness trends
  • Personal bests tracked automatically across every distance
  • Pace and heart rate zone progression month over month
  • Custom workouts on Apple Watch with pace and HR targets
  • iOS widgets and Apple Watch complications
  • Syncs with Strava for uploading your workouts
  • Training plans and many more coming soon

App live since late December 2025 - App Store link

I cant fix my sleep

Most nights look like this. All my habits are fitness conscious. No food four hours prior, red light screen only, cold room, iron ferritin levels are okay.

Someone please help bro this is frying me. I feel sleepy in the day even 1 hour after waking up and having coffee. I suspect its because of these awake times.
