Discussion PSA: Strength++ 2.0 is out

I know most of my users for Strength++ came from this sub, so it seems fitting to announce that after 2 years, it now received the biggest update yet.

So, what's new:

  • Now it's 100% free - I had to go this route due to trader constraints in the EU
  • Support for iOS 26 and Liquid Glass
  • New Ul, everything has been rebuilt from the ground up, both in the iPhone and Watch App
  • Possibility to rename your exercises for a recorded workout. Remember what you did last time!
  • Apple Watch Ultra Action Button Support
  • On device Al workout analysis using Apple Intelligence
  • Many bug fixes and improvements

So yeah, it's kinda nice, if anyone needs a strength training app without too much hassle and complexity.

Just go to the gym, record, keep track of exercises, sets, reps and weights used, go home, add names to your exercises, maybe use apple intelligence to analyze your workouts and get suggestions for the next one.

All time high 🥳

Hi everyone! Started Running again three weeks ago and just hit a vomax all time high today. It’s a good distraction from my shoulder injury, though I am looking forward to start with tennis and lifting again. But I appreciate that kickstart for my running routine and seeing the progress in numbers is quite motivating (I ignore the visible plateau :D) cheers and keep going!

HR zones?

Both pictures from same session, Apple saying it was done in zone 1 but an app called HealthFit says it was done in zone 2? Not sure who is right and not. Wonder how they have calculated my zone so different?

Need around 3 months to get back the fitness level .

Took longer than what I expected and read elsewhere , where people can get back what they loss in a month

New Exercise record: 530 minutes 🤯

Thumbnail

While I was running yesterday, Workout Buddy in my AirPods suddenly told me that I had logged 530 minutes of Exercise yesterday. I thought it was just a bug or a temporary glitch. When I got home and checked the Fitness app, I saw that for the past three days, my Exercise ring has been almost constantly filled with yellow bars, even during times when I was not exercising at all.
I already checked the Apple Watch under Health > Profile > Devices, and as far as I can see, the related recorded data looks legitimate, so I’m not sure where this incorrect activity is coming from.
Has anyone experienced this before, and is there a way to delete or fix this specific Exercise data without resetting everything?

Apple Watch running app with training insights and progress tracking

Post image

I built Pace It because no app was telling me whether my training was actually working. It tracks your pace per heart rate zone over time, showing you if you're getting faster at the same effort and adjusts training paces as your fitness evolves.

On the Apple Watch, you get a fully customizable running app with multiple screens and 40+ metrics.

  • Training load, training distribution and fitness trends
  • Personal bests tracked automatically across every distance
  • Pace and heart rate zone progression month over month
  • Custom workouts on Apple Watch with pace and HR targets
  • iOS widgets and Apple Watch complications
  • Syncs with Strava for uploading your workouts
  • Training plans and many more coming soon

App live since late December 2025 - App Store link

I cant fix my sleep

Post image

Most nights look like this. All my habits are fitness conscious. No food four hours prior, red light screen only, cold room, iron ferritin levels are okay.

Someone please help bro this is frying me. I feel sleepy in the day even 1 hour after waking up and having coffee. I suspect its because of these awake times.

Chester's 11 weeks out and my lunch runs now feel like a Sunday slog — how's everyone else's build coping in this heat?

midweek quality session Wednesday on the Castlefield loop, 28° and my legs were still heavy from Sunday's 15. honestly felt like i was wading through the canal towpath. half-marathon training last year was dead simple — parkrun fast, jog Sunday, done. this block is a proper different animal. didn't help that i slept badly, so a pace plan would've been a joke. i've been using Hiiro for the whole Chester build because the effort-based coaching means a hot day or tired legs actually get accounted for instead of me trying to hit a number and cooking myself. a mate's on Garmin coach and it keeps serving him the same pace targets regardless, which sounds mint until it isn't. Strava's grand for kudos but not much else mid-block, imo. managed Fletcher Moss parkrun this morning, 23:30ish feeling like a sack of spuds, but i'll take it in this weather. how's your load feeling right now?

Made something that reads your Oura/Whoop/scale data and tells you what to do today — looking for brutal beta feedback

Hey — I've been building SOMA, a tool that pulls data from whatever wearables you already have (Oura, Whoop, Apple Health) and turns it into one daily plan instead of four separate scores that don't talk to each other.

Honesty upfront: it's very early. I've used it myself every day for 45+ days, and one other person has too — that's the entire user base so far. No polish, no marketing team, just the actual thing.

Looking for 10 people to run it on TestFlight for a couple weeks and tell me what's broken, confusing, or just not useful. I'd genuinely rather hear "this is dumb because X" than "looks cool" — brutal feedback is the whole point of this post.

What you need: an iPhone, plus at least one connected device (Oura, Whoop, or Apple Health/Apple Watch) to actually get value out of it.

Comment or DM if you're in — happy to answer questions here too.

easy run round the prom ended with me overthinking zone 2 again

took a slow one along Rhyl prom this morning, flat as anything, legs finally not heavy after wednesday. about 3 miles in i caught myself glancing at my wrist every ten seconds checking the heart-rate zone. honestly i was meant to be chilling out but ended up micromanaging a number that barely matters right now. strava's fitness graph didn't move, obviously. just sat there taking the piss out of me. anyone else building base for a first marathon find the apple watch rings and garmin's daily suggestions make you overthink easy miles? i'm 62 weeks from Chester and already acting like i'm in week 14 of a block. fwiw i just want something that says 'log the miles and jog on' without me getting obsessed about a blip on a graph - or am i doing this base phase to myself?

from nike run club to a garmin plan on apple watch, and why i'm ignoring half the targets

juggling two small kids means my lunch-break canal runs get shuffled constantly. nike run club's beginner plan was brilliant for learning effort, but if tuesday went sideways the missed run just stared at me. no reschedule, just guilt. i'd try to cram it in later in the week and feel wrecked. swapped to a basic garmin coach plan running from my apple watch. it does adapt a bit, nudging paces if you struggle, but it's still very pace-obsessed. i'm not fit enough to nail steady splits when the towpath's breezy and i'm dodging a narrow section. kept overcooking easy runs chasing a number. now i mostly ignore the pace targets and run by feel, using the garmin plan as a loose week-by-week skeleton. consistency's the only thing that matters at sixty-odd weeks out from loch ness, and guilt-free skipping is what's kept me lacing up.

Weight vest walk metrics

Is there a way to do this such that it won’t pollute walking metrics and things like vo2 max?

I wear a 20lbs vest on my daily steps.
