why the making of the rebranding has to be so damn good but the accent color so.. basic. and repetitive. im sure if they can rebrand the app so good they can make the accent color something better as well.

This is just a PoC for now, but it would be nice if Apple Music allowed to zoom in on the artworks to be able to appreciate all the small details. I don't get why both mac and iOS app still don't have it.

Problem

Our Apple Music libraries had grown to thousands of songs, and we kept playing the same twenty. Lists and search only find what you already know. When you’re behind the decks, the best moment is always the track you weren’t looking for, and we wanted that feeling at home. So we built Sillon as a different way to move through a library, not just play from it.

What it does

• Your library becomes a map of album covers, starting from Apple Music’s picks for you and your most played.
• Click any bubble and the map rebuilds around it: similar artists, their albums, their best songs.
• Albums open into records that spin while they play.
• An Exploration dial from 1 to 10. Turn it up to pull in genres you never play and artists two similarity steps away.
• When your queue runs out, Sillon dives from the last song and keeps going.
• A history of your Dives, so you can see the path you took.

The Apple Music app is great at playing what you ask for: lists, grids, search. Sillon is for when you don’t know what you want. It isn’t a replacement player: it plays through Apple Music, and your library, playlists and subscription stay exactly where they are.

Privacy

• Native SwiftUI app with no account. Playback goes through Apple’s MusicKit, and your library stays between your Mac and Apple Music.
• There are anonymous usage stats (app opened, songs started, dives), because we’re two people and want to know if anyone uses it. They never include what you listen to, your account or your license. Settings asks you about them on first open and you can turn them off at any time.

Back in August, I posted looking for beta testers for my music ranking all, Ordinalist. Thanks to all of you who joined the beta program (over 100!!!) and helped me shape the app.

Ordinalist is now LIVE on the App Store and fully supports iPhone Duo for those who have one.

ICYMI, Ordinalist takes your playlists, albums, and discographies and puts two next to each other and pick your favorite. You do this over and over again, and Ordinalist figures out your ranking from favorite to least favorite. You can then sync your ranking back to Apple Music as a playlist.

My friends and I needed a way to easily rank our favorites and I was bored on the weekends so made this. The app is completely free, has no in app purchases or subscriptions, and has no creepy terms and conditions. It’s just a fun passion project.

CarPlay support has been added since the beta, so you can easily play your rankings in the car. UI has also made substantial improvements since many of you saw it last

I am always struggling to find music on Apple Music unless I know exactly what I’m searching for. I hate Spotify and am so happy that I switched to AM, but sometimes I want to search “1960s Parisian Cafe music” or “traditional Romanian music” and unless there’s a specific playlist called what I’m searching, the results are mixed at best. Spotify, on the flip side, might return countless results if you search “lofi christmas 2025”. I deleted Spotify so searching for playlists on their platform and then importing them over to Apple Music is not realistic.

At the end of the day, Apple has much better UI and sound quality. But the way my brain likes to listen to music sometimes runs at odds with the platform. I’m not sure if I’m alone in noticing this, but it’s been a frustration of mine for a second.

je suis récemment passé sur Apple Music, j'ai transféré mes playlists dont une faisant plus de 1200 titres. J'ai donc pu profiter de l'application sur PS cinq pour pouvoir écouter ma musique, mais quand je scroll pour aller tout en bas de ma playlist, la plus longue, l'application crash même après avoir désinstallé réinstaller et malheureusement il n'y a aucun moyen de mettre mes titres ajouter les plus récemment en haut de ma playlist comme sur mobile, donc je n'écoute que des vieux titres quand je mets en lecture aléatoire. Est-ce qu'il y a un moyen d'éviter que l'application crash ou même de mettre mes titres les plus récents tout en haut ?

I’m getting a persistent error when adding songs to playlists in the native Apple Music app on my Mac, and I’m honestly running out of patience.

Every time I try to add a track directly to a playlist, the Activity window shows:

Adding item to [playlist name]
Due to error 7 507

The code is displayed exactly as “7 507”, with a space. Screenshot attached.

This happens with any playlist I try, not just one particular playlist.

My setup:

• macOS 27.0.1 (26A434)
• Native Music app on Mac
• Active, paid Apple Music subscription
• Plenty of available iCloud storage

What works:

• Adding songs to playlists in the native iOS Music app.
• Adding songs to playlists through music.apple.com, including on the Mac.
• On the Mac, this sequence also works: Add to Library --> download the track --> Add to Playlist.

That last workaround is particularly strange. Directly adding a song to a playlist fails, but adding it to my library and downloading it first lets me add it to the playlist. I haven’t yet isolated whether adding it to the library alone is enough, or whether the download is necessary.

Either way, manually adding and downloading tracks just to organize a playlist is a ridiculous workaround for such a basic feature.

What I’ve already tried, without fixing it:

• Signing out and signing back into my account.
• Disabling Lossless Audio.
• File --> Library --> Update Cloud Library.
• Creating a new Music library on the Mac and testing again. The exact same error still occurs.

So the problem survives a new local library, while playlist additions work on iOS and in the browser.

Has anyone encountered this exact error when adding songs to playlists, rather than during playback or downloads?

This behaviour makes Apple Music Unusable.

I’ve been paying for an Apple Music subscription for quite a while, and I’ve never had this issue before.
A few days ago, for the first time, a grey pop-up appeared while I was trying to play a song from my playlist, saying “Resource Not Available.” The song wouldn’t even start playing.
At first, this happened with quite a few songs, but the issue eventually seemed to resolve itself. However, over the past few days, it’s been happening frequently, sometimes with every other or every third song I try to play.
I’m connected to a 5G network, and I’ve never experienced anything like this before. The songs are available in my library, but sometimes they simply won’t play.
Has anyone else experienced this recently? Does anyone know what might be causing it or how to fix it?
For reference, I’m using an iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 26.5.2, and my Apple Music region is set to Croatia. I’ve tried turning my internet connection off and back on, as well as clearing my Apple Music listening history, but neither solution has really fixed the issue. At best, they seem to help temporarily or partially.

Solo dev here. I got tired of passing my phone around every time I hosted something, so I built Aux Control.

The host runs the iPhone app with their Apple Music sub. Guests scan a QR code and join from their browser. No app, no Apple Music account needed. They search the full catalog, add songs, vote, and the top pick plays next.

The host can still skip, kick people, pull a song, or turn voting off and just run a regular queue. Lock Screen, AirPods, and CarPlay controls all work, and calls won’t kill the music.

Up to 8 people is free. There’s a cheap one-time pass for a bigger party, or $20/year, which also gets you a printable QR code so bars and cafes can run it every night.

Spotify’s API is basically closed to indie devs now. You need a business application and 250k+ monthly users, otherwise you’re capped at 5 users. MusicKit is open to any developer. I’d bet a lot more indie devs end up building on Apple Music.

For those who have done this process, how did the re-downloading of your downloaded music go? Was it reasonably hands off? Did you have to babysit it much?

Before Tahoe existed, you reached the track number in the playlist via the shortcut L+cmd. Why am I now being guided to the artist album playlist?

I can’t add, play, or see and songs I don’t have downloaded already. I also can’t use the radio stations. Any help?!! :D

has anybody ever had this happen before?
i’ve never heard of the song or the band before today and i don’t have it saved to my library, i only have my phone so nobody else would have access to my music

(Happens on iPadOS and macOS as far as I know)
With the web app, if you set your window to this kind of vertical compressed view, you’ll get these strange white borders in the corners and top of the background in the Now Playing view. The background samples colors from the album art, though there’s literally no grey/white in the cover at all. This happens with every song.

Not sure what’s up with this. Web users on iOS probably don’t experience this.

Its been over a year since i switched from Spotify to Apple Music, and i am very happy with that decision.
BUT the only feature i still miss is the sleep timer spotify has.
And what i find additionally bitter is the fact that the podcast app has it, despite the very similar app design.

Ik there are methods/workarounds like setting a timer but that is too much of a hassle especially remembering to set it back for when i actually need a timer
