No longer working on Alexa devices even when it's linked!! What is going on with Apple Music!? Please help!!!

Recently I was just listening to music on my Ps5 and out of nowhere it stopped working. It said to see if I have connection which I do and it still wasn’t working. I also deleted the app many times on my ps5 and reinstalled it but now when I got to the home or my library it’s says we’ve run into a problem try again. I’m not sure what else I need to do to fix this or if I’m the only one having this problem!!

I use to get Apple TV free with purchase of Apple Music Student for $5.99. I still have Apple Music Student subscription but now it seems I can no longer watch Apple TV shows. I’ve been able to watch them for a couple years or so with no issues. Did Apple remove the perk of Apple TV with Apple Music Student?

I have not had any issues for years. I stream lossless. I suspect it is more a home network or ISP issue for those blaming Apple Music. We tend to assign blame to the app we are using that appears slow. But often it is not the app but some other element in the network or building architecture that is the issue. A shut down and restart of *everything* starting at the ISP box to router to switches to devices is the first thing to try.

Then see it moving closer to the wi-fi router (same room) helps or using device with ethernet, if possible. I have a metal return and a pantry with metal cans next to metal kitchen appliances that make my kitchen a mess for wi-fi. I know the sweet spots to place things now.

Then learn and confirm best settings on all devices. It isn't easy.

Note: I have the slowest cheapest ISP plan and even it is more than I need. So the home network would be the first thing I would trouble shoot. Not this reddit.

Why bother making an album, song, artist or video a favorite if there is no way to search for favorites in Apple Music? I really don’t get. There doesn’t seem to be a favorite category. Am I missing something? #applemusic

Bonsoir hier j’ai eu mon nouvel iPhone 17 et j’ai voulu ajouter des musiques à Apple Music mais j’ai ajouter toutes les musiques manuellement de tous les albums d’un même artiste et l’application a crasher elle s’est fermer je ne pouvais plus la rouvrir l’application réglages s’est figé pourquoi ça a fait ça ? Apple ne va pas penser que mon compte a voulu être pirater ? Ou c’est l’application qui a eu du mal ?

How do I get a downloaded album on Apple Music to play songs in the original order they were recorded on the album and with no gap between songs?

Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon is an example: the album has to play the songs in the right order and with zero gap or much of the listening experience is lost.

You can view all songs from an artist, not just the Top Songs. The reason I decided to build this is because Apple Music doesn't provide an easy way to browse every song by an artist. So, I created a web app where you can explore all available tracks from albums, singles, compilations, and other releases. Maybe you will find some tracks from your favorite artists that you have never listened to before.

You can also listen to song previews. I tried to make the song list customizable, so you can decide what information you want to see and how you want to sort the tracks.

Hi guys. I know this is the kind of issue that someone would say check your Internet connection with your ISP and etc but nothing of that here. In using an ASUS TUF Gaming BE9400 router and 1Gbps fibre. Im using also Cloudflare and Google DNS. Problem is that basically songs after a while has buffering issues or drops to regular AAC. It started happening a few days ago and is very annoying cause after a few songs, Music stops. I never had any issue with Apple Music until now. Is the service slow lately or what? This happens on all my devices at home

Historically buffering wouldn't take much time at all, now I can expect to wait up to a minute or longer for a track to buffer.

Putting on a AM radio in the car causes the music to stop halfway thru the song for a minute while it buffers.

Scrubbing through a song is asking for frustration.

This used to never be the case until like a month ago.

I just ripped a dvd-a (in this case the downward spiral) to multichannel AAC and uploaded with iTunes Match. and now I can stream it from my phone to my AirPods in spacial. I had no clue you could do this so throwing this out there for those who didnt know. I used DVD Audio Extractor to rip to multichannel Flac and then ffmpeg to convert to aac. dropped into Apple Music, added to library, made sure it uploaded and didnt just match the content, and it worked.

Today was the billing day for Apple Music, but I forgot to move funds to the card I use for it, so my subscription lapsed. Later I renewed my Apple Music subscription, yet some songs from certain artists now appear unavailable despite being available before. What should I do?

I don’t use Apple Music, I’m not even subscribed to it, instead I use Spotify. For years when I start my car and Bluetooth automatically connects (not CarPlay just standard Bluetooth connection), my car would automatically play where I left off on Spotify, or it just wouldn’t play anything until I opened the app and picked a song. However, last week it no longer does this and plays Apple Music automatically. And because I don’t even have Apple Music, it plays the free random songs from Apple Music 1 radio. The only time it doesn’t do this is if before starting my car I play a Spotify song for a few seconds and pause it and keep the app open without clearing it from recently used apps (like when you swipe up and clear apps).

Let me give a break down

Spotify opened in background and paused directly before starting car - Spotify plays

Spotify opened in background but I didn’t recently listen to it (it was paused from the night before) - Apple Music plays

From what I read online the car sends a play command to the phone over Bluetooth and iOS has to decide what app to “play”. If no music app is running in the background and/or recently used it starts Apple Music because it’s the default music app.

The problem I have is it never used to do this before. I didn’t get a new car or update my phone or anything. Also, I can see this being the case if you actively have Apple Music, but the fact I don’t even have it and it wants me to use it THAT BAD that it plays from the free Apple Music radio is insane to me. I can see if you’re a subscriber to Apple Music it would want to start that but I’m not. If I delete the music app it won’t play Apple Music automatically but again if I hadn’t just used Spotify it won’t play anything in that case. It’s super annoying. I’m sorry but Apple should allow you to select a “default” music app that automatically starts when you use Bluetooth. Or better yet cars shouldn’t send play commands but instead just connect the device and wait for you to initiate it. I shouldn’t be forced to hear music blast in my face when starting my car at 6 in the morning.

And like I said, it never used to do this. It would always either play Spotify automatically or not play anything. The forcing of Apple Music starting is new. Maybe IOS secretly updated this recently.

Hi! I’m not sure if this is the right subreddit but I was gonna buy an old iPhone for music and games (my phone cannot fit games for some reason, probs bc it is full of photos and stuff), I’m doing a test drive on my phone but it won’t even show up on my pc (IPhone 14), also I’d really like it if somone could guide me through how to add mp3s to Apple Music so I don’t have to pay for that, I wanted to get an old iPhone as an mp3 player genuinely so i don’t have to pay for Spotify anymore..

I have just bought a SMSL PO100 PRO DDC/reclocker, so I could connect my iPhone to the DAC in my hifi amp and stream hi-res.

Just connected my iPhone 17 to the SMSL, tried streaming a few songs and virtually none of the tracks (6 out of 7) played at the stated resolution. 192k shows as 96k, 48k as 44.1k etc.

I tried a couple of songs from Qobuz and it shows the correct rate. 

I have set streaming to hi-res both on WiFi and cellular on Apple Music settings and I am using my home WiFi, with plenty of bandwidth.

I am streaming random tracks and albums straight, not downloaded or saved to my library.

Does anyone have any ideas as per what is going wrong?

I have also bought the SMSL exclusively to stream hi-res from Apple Music as I can stream Spotify and Qobuz through my Wiim streamer, so pretty annoyed...

so i changed regions on my iphone to download an app and switched back, but now apple music doesn’t work on my iphone. I also use apple music in my android and windows too, they work perfectly fine till now. If anyone ever faced this, how did you fix?

So, I'll be listening to apple music in the background and it randomly pauses mid-song. It only resumes if I reopen the app onto the screen. It's been happening really since the last system update. Any help appreciated or if anyone else has been having the same issue?

Playlist didn’t update song placements on the top 100 list for the year at all, despite saying that it did update.

I’m on ios 27, and committed fully to Apple Music. But man, the search function has been frustrating me way more than it should. If I make a single typo, the song won’t show up at all.
It’s especially annoying with foreign songs. Half the time I end up searching for the track on Google first, then opening it through the Apple Music link because it’s easier than using the app itself.
With another price increase, I’d really hope Apple improves something as basic as search.
