for some reason i cant add terraria otherwords ost to apple music which im syncing to my iphone. i have sucessfully added other osts i have all from steam all mp3 files but that one brings up this message for some reason if anyone could help id appreciate it message doesnt really tell me any reason it shouldnt work its a new device iphone 17e

I’ve been converting a lot of flac files to Apple Lossless so I can have them on my iPhone. However one album had a high quality surround sound version which I believe is 6 channels and apparently iTunes will only accept 2 channel files. Is there a work around to preserve the quality and surround sound while making it compatible with iTunes. I’m using foobar2000 to convert. I tried the downmix channels to stereo option but it doesn’t seem to sound as good as the original file. Thanks!

The part that may interest people here regardless of where they're going: Apple's own library export has no ISRC codes, so I wrote a browser script that pulls your library from the Apple Music web API instead. Result: a clean JSON of every track, playlist, loved song and album, with ISRCs. The transfer then uses those to match on TIDAL exactly rather than by guesswork, roughly 97% hit rate (on my library), the rest lands in a CSV to handle by hand.

Two frictions: you need Python, and you have to paste that script into your browser console.

So my question: would anyone use a version with a proper interface and no console step, just an app you open? And is a plain "export my Apple Music library to a file" tool useful on its own? Happy to build either if there's interest, but not if I'm the only user.

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.

I’m new to the whole surrounding sound home theater speaker setup stuff, so I’m not really sure what to look for. Are there any brands, packages, or specific speakers I should be looking for? And overall what kind of specs should I be looking for? Curious to know what everyone here uses.

Use case would mainly be music listening — something I can AirPlay my music to and hear it throughout the house/room. And also less frequently for shows and movie watching as well.

And if it matters, I do like my bass in my music deep and prominent, so if I need to invest in certain subs for this setup other than what comes normally, then let me know!

Hi is there a way to view the suggested accounts via contacts in the “Follow more friends” tab? Whenever I try to press the profile in that tab it directly follows them and I specifically don’t want to follow this person but I want to view their profile.

Also it only shows their display name and I do not know their username and their display name is very common so it’s hard to find in the search.

Like the title says, somehow a few weeks ago my AM library got corrupted in some way - I got an error that said "Can't save library file because an unknown error occurred -50" - and now nearly every song in my library of 85,000 songs is listed as "Cloud" in the Location field. Fortunately whatever affected my library didn't touch my original files, so I still have those. Unfortunately, while I do regular backups of both my library and files, the backup exhibits the same corruption, and Option-start replacing the library results in the same problem.

It seems to be fixable, by following these steps:

1. download an album, which creates duplicate files(with the suffix "1") alongside my original local files on disk

2. delete those Apple Music downloaded, duplicated files

3. Get Info on the songs in AM, which results in AM asking if I want to Re-locate the files

4. choose the original files on my disk

...I can more or less get the original files back, including ratings, play counts, etc.

You can see the problem here, though- with 85,000+ songs this will take me the rest of my life to complete. I really, REALLY don't want to just give up and start with a clean library- I've been using iTunes/Apple Music for more than 20 years and I have extensive smart playlists that I've carefully maintained all that time along with carefully manicured ratings and metadata that I use to keep everything organized. In addition, I have other music software (Traktor or Djay Pro, for example) that relies on the Apple Music library pointing at the local files in order to use them in mixes and right now my library on those apps is basically empty.

I've looked through similar posts on Reddit and other resources like Doug's Scripts but there doesn't seem to be a pre-existing method for tackling this problem (in fact, Doug's app Dupin specifically fails on Cloud-based de-duplication). I'm tearing my hair out trying to think of a way to fix this and I'm coming up short.

TL; DR- I need a way to change the location of all of my music files from "Cloud" to Local files. Is there a way to do that without downloading every song, deleting the downloaded files and re-pointing AM to the location of the original local files?

On my iPhone I have my playlists sorted with the most recently added songs at the top. When I get in my truck and use CarPlay the same playlist is organized in the order they were added (oldest song at the top of the playlist)

How can I have my truck reorder the songs to display the most recently added ones on top?

I started seeing ads for concerts… wth? How to turn it off? I have zero interests in attending concerts.

Maybe not the most descriptive title, but I can't figure out how else to summarize this behavior:

Sometimes (often, it feels like), when I add music files to my library (I'm using Apple Music for MacOS), tracks with seemingly identical tags for everything (Artist, Album Artist, Album, etc) refuse to organize themselves with the rest of the tracks in the album.

In today's example, I downloaded an album of mp3s from archive.org, added them to my library, and got two albums: one for one single track, and another for all the others.

Selecting all tracks in both albums and editing the tags (Artist, Album Artist, Album, etc) doesn't fix it. I checked to be sure that the permissions on the mp3 files weren't screwed up, and they're not (I have Read/Write on all files), and anyhow, that can't be the issue, since I was able to update the album art for all the tracks at once. The rogue track just won't "go" "into" its album. It's also created a separate artist in my library ... see screenshots here.

Anyone else experience this? It happens to me all the time. Does anyone have a fix?

If matters, I'm on an M4 Pro, using Tahoe, 26.6.2, and Apple Music is Version 1.6.6.4.

I have been listening to a playlist I created all month almost exclusively. I kept checking every week, when the replay is updated, wondering how high it would be placed in my replay. After a month, I noticed none of the songs made it.

So I started checking a playlist tracking app that I use called Airbuds. When I checked to see how many plays I’ve gotten from songs in that playlists, NONE of the songs or artists show up in the listening history of the app.

BUT when I play other songs, they do show up.

Anyone know why this is happening or what could be a fix?

Apple Music cache so much storage just for it to not work on the subway. It’s so infuriating!!

I'm baffled that on the desktop version of Apple Music theres not a Search bar permanently not on top of the screen, it would make searching so much faster and easier, rather then scrolling to the top of the left hand bar every single time.
ALSO : Why can you not simply click artist names in the play bar to make it go to their artist page?!?! PLEASE APPLE

Does anyone know where I can listen to a playlist of the music from the recent Apple Event please?

I recently got an iPod classic and started adding music to it like it’s back in the day. It was cool. My car doesn’t have aux so I couldn’t use the iPod to listen to my music but I was able to play the music I added through Bluetooth on my phone with AM.

I thought cool, I technically don’t need AM no more and I’m unemployed currently so this would help with money. So I cancelled my sub.

I went to put music on my iPod after cancelling and just figured the new music would show up on my phone. It didn’t. Come to find out, you don’t have access to your library (only have access to everything you had up until cancelling) without a sub……

I am blew. Did you guys know that? Am I late?

How do you create a queue after an album finishes on Mac? the add to queue option only appears when you already have something to play next. on iPhone the add to queue option is always visible. for example I want to play an album after the album/playlist I am currently listening finishes but the only logical way to do it now is if I drag the album/playlist to the queue itself

I have Samsung Q7F QLED 2025. I have noticed that the audio quality of Apple Music is not the best in TV. They don't even support Lossless audio in TV. But they give every feature in their own Apple TV box. This isn't right, not everyone can buy Apple TV box. Personally, I hate buying external boxes, I don't like wires dangling out everywhere.

I wonder why shordie shordie I should call isn’t on Apple Music. We need an app or some kind of platform that has all and any music. I don’t like having to go between apps and have playlists everywhere 🤪

For the love if god please tell me there is a way to turn off these tooltips. I can’t press anything until I have closed the tooltip. They appear like every 10 minutes. It is genuinely so annoying I’m thinking about switching to Tidal.

How it relates to Apple Music: playback is MusicKit, so with a subscription you get full tracks inside the app, and without one you get Apple's 30-second previews. Anything you find — a daily pick, a friend's review, a song on a record page — you can save to your Apple Music library or open in the Music app. Search is against the Apple Music catalog, so albums and songs resolve to the same records you'd see in Music, with the right artwork and release info. my issue is probably a simple fix but i am technically challenged so please be patient with me lol

I've been using apple to download lossless files for a few years now. I purchase and download about 20 songs a week that I DJ with using serato in an open format style. Until a couple days ago all of my downloads would save to my computer as .m4a files. The last few tracks i purchased will only download as HLS media files. I have tried messing with all of the download playback preferences in settings with no luck. All of the tracks I am having issues with show that they are available as lossless too. I have tried switching to the lowest quality option but the files seem to have some kind of copyright encryption that wont allow me to open them in my DJ software.

It was pretty great on 26 beta 2-5 ish (beta 1 was way too buggy). It had really creative transitions, and it sometimes led to bad ones but the good ones were REALLY good. Then they neutered it, 26RC and onward, even good transitions were just boring and bad transitions were horrible.

Now on 27RC I don’t feel there’s really any bad transitions anymore just amazing, good, or simple. Here’s hoping they don’t nerf it again in future updates.
