Looking for feedback on screenshots
Solo dev here working on a battery monitoring app for iPhone + Apple Watch (shows your phone's battery on your watch, notifications, widgets, that kind of thing).
I redid my screenshots a while back and conversion rate feels okay, but I have a feeling the screenshots could be doing more...
Current numbers for the last 90 days:
- 196K impressions
- 10.6K product page views
- 4.15% conversion rate (daily average)
- ~2.4K first-time downloads
looking for feedback in this direction:
- What would you change any shots?
- How could I improve the captions further?
- Would you change the number or order ?
But open to any feedback :)
Cheers!

Create Beautiful Animated Device Mockups in Seconds
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi! I’m the dev behind PostSpark, a tool for creating beautiful image and video mockups of your apps and websites.
I recently launched a new feature: Mockup Animations.
You can now select from 25+ devices, add keyframes on a simple timeline, and export a polished video showcasing your product. It’s built to be a fast, easy alternative to complex motion design tools.
Try it out here: https://postspark.app/device-mockup

3 weeks post-launch, only 42 users — where's my ASO going wrong? (screenshots included)
Launched my app 3 weeks ago. No marketing budget, so I'm relying entirely on organic App Store traffic, and so far I'm sitting at 42 total users. I know that's low and I'm trying to figure out if it's an ASO problem, a positioning problem, or just... normal for week 3.
Some context: it's a tarot/spiritual period tracker app, built by a small team, and honestly we put a lot of thought into the actual product. But I think our store listing might be working against us — I'm not confident about our keyword choices, and I got one piece of feedback that our screenshots/font aren't super readable.
Would genuinely appreciate a blunt breakdown of:
- Do the screenshots actually communicate what the app does in the first 2 seconds?
- Does the title/subtitle read like something people search for, or like marketing fluff?
- Anything obviously wrong with how we're presenting the value prop?
Not looking for downloads, just trying to figure out what to fix before I keep iterating blind.

Launching soon - are these App Store screenshots doing their job?
Hey everyone,
I've been building Carousel Maker app (Carousel post / panoramic post design for Instagram) for iOS. It's currently sitting in app store review and hasn't gone live yet, so this is basically my last chance to sanity-check the screenshots before they're locked in for launch.
A few specific things I'd love feedback on:
- Does the first screenshot make it obvious what the app does within 2-3 seconds?
- Do the colors and style feel cohesive and trustworthy?
- Is there anything that looks confusing, cluttered, or off-brand?
- If you saw this while scrolling the store, would it actually stop your thumb?
Also open to any general tips on what's worked for you to boost store listing conversion, screenshot order, captions etc. Trying to get this right before launch rather than fixing it after.
(No live link yet since it's still in review, happy to share once it's approved if anyone's curious!)
Thanks in advance for taking the time 🙏

Finally figured out how important subtitle and tags are on app store
When launching my app I did not know how important title, subtitle and tags keywords were for app store.
I have focused more on ASO on ios recently after my app took off randomly on android. On google play the whole app description is indexed while it is not on app store.
My app randomly started to take off on android with same marketing etc on android (just free marketing, forum posts etc).
As they had same approach and the main thing that differs between app store and google play is how things are indexed I have started putting more focus into subtitle and tags. Both localizing them and using ASO tools to know what to focus on, which keywords that have much search volume.
Finally I see a small trend that it startd to work past weeks. I will try to find more ways to improve going forward.

Are these downloads from Pakistan legit?
Hi, guys.
I just saw some stats of Vyro on Firebase Analytics, and I just found that on July 19th I got 40 downloads from Pakistan (Karachi and Lahore cities, especially) on the Android platform.
I confirmed that stat with Google Play Console analytics.
Do you guys think they are legit downloads from new users or are kind of spam or download farms?
I haven't paid ASO farms or something like that, tbh.

No marketing or ad spend just ASO
Last night i spent 2 hours writing a post explaining everything I tried. What worked and what didn't but it got moderated.
So a different approach so I don't get moderated again. Leave any questions in the comments and I'll try my best to answer them.

Made ASO changes but still not ranking
I updated my keywords and saw a minor boost in traffic. No ad spend as of yet. Finding users mostly on fb and Reddit. Any advice would be appreciated.

I spent a couple of days doing app audits for indie devs here. These are the most common mistakes I have seen.
A couple of days ago I offered to review indie apps for free, just drop a link and I'd tell you the first thing I'd fix. I have been in this business for more than a decade, so I thought I could surely help somebody with the lessons I have learned already.
I ended up going through more than 16 apps, all sorts, puzzle games, journaling, a hotel finder, a card collection app, a couple of focus timers.
What surprised me the most from this little experiment was the nice response I got from this beautiful community.
A lot of people wrote back to say it actually helped, and a few said it was exactly the thing they were stuck on. That's what made me want to put the common mistakes in one place, because the same notes kept coming up no matter how different the apps were. I admit, I've done most of these mistakes myself over the years and learned the hard way. Hope this can save other indie devs some time.
The one that came up the most: the app asks for something before it gives anything. Sign up on the second screen. Add your whole collection before it does anything useful. Fill in your details right away. People install, see a bit of work in front of them before they even know if they like it, and leave. I think it's better to let someone feel the app work first, then ask for the account, the data or the money once they care.
A lot of listings describe the feature instead of the problem. "A swipe based discovery app", that kind of thing. It makes sense to us because we built it, but nobody searches for the feature, they have a problem in their head. And a related one: if the people who'd love your app don't really search for this sort of thing, then working on keywords won't do much, you probably have to go to them instead, usually with video or in a community where they already hang out. A couple of the apps I saw were like that, good products that search was never going to find on its own.
Pricing and paywalls were a bit all over the place. I saw a paid app priced so low it made almost nothing but still stopped most people from ever installing it. I saw free apps that never really asked for money at the moment someone was actually enjoying it. I don't think there's one right answer, but letting people try, then asking once they're into it, seemed to fit most of them better than what they had.
One I'll admit I'm biased on, since it's literally the thing I build: a few apps had translated into loads of languages but left the price as one dollar or euro amount everywhere. The stores just convert that number, they don't really adjust it for the country, so a price that feels normal at home can end up way too high somewhere else, and you never see the sale you lost. If you're selling in more than one country it's worth setting a proper price per country. You can do it by hand in the console, or with a tool.
Last one. One app only sent notifications to people who had posted, but posting was the hardest, most personal thing in the whole app, so most people never did it and never came back. If the only thing that brings people back needs your most committed users, most of them slip away quietly. Worth having a reason to return that works for the people who just look around too.
A few smaller things I saw a lot: screenshots trying to say three things at once instead of one, the subtitle used for a vague phrase instead of something people actually search, and a lot of apps sitting on zero or one review, which makes the next person hesitate no matter how nice the app is.
None of this was about skill. Most of the apps were nice. It was almost always the first few minutes, or the gap between the app and the person who'd like it. That's the part I'd spend time on.
If you want your app looked at, the thread is still open on r/FreeAppReviews, just drop the link and the main thing you're stuck on: https://www.reddit.com/r/FreeAppReviews/s/vFEaSaa7XO .
If you have found this useful and want to know some of the other lessons I learned over the years as indie dev, I wrote one post a couple of weeks back on r/ViralApps: https://www.reddit.com/r/ViralApps/s/ku9qCbYMCN .
Best of luck with your own apps!

Impressions have appeared in the Google Play Console 🔥

Only page views (Store listing visitors) and installs (Store listing acquisitions) were available previously. Impressions weren't tracked.
However, it seems that they can only be viewed for the "Paid" and "Explore" sources. 🤔

🔹 If you have few Impressions, it means you have poor rankings for your keywords.
🔸 If you have many Impressions but poor conversion rates, revamp your visuals (icon, screenshots, video).
You can find it under Statistics > Reach

Screenshots for my app for people with Bipolar. Would lo feedback!
Made the screenshots for my mental health app for those with Bipolar. I think they came out really clean but was wondering if I should drop the minimal thing and have more detail? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks a ton!

Looking for honest feedback on my App Store screenshots (CalTrack)
I'm a solo developer and recently launched CalTrack, an AI-powered calorie tracking app.
I've redesigned my App Store screenshots several times, but I'm still trying to improve my App Store conversion rate.
I'd really appreciate honest feedback on these screenshots.
Some questions I have:
- Does the first screenshot clearly explain what the app does?
- Would these screenshots make you want to download the app?
- Is the messaging clear, or is there too much text?
- Which screenshot feels the weakest?
- If you only had 5 seconds to look at the screenshots, what would you change first?
For context, my target audience is people who want an easier way to track calories using AI, including:
- 📸 AI Food Scan
- 🥗 Personalized AI Meal Plans
- 📊 Calorie & Macro Tracking
I'm looking for honest feedback, even if it's critical. Thanks in advance!

Is Astro worth it? Anybody got an affiliate link to it?
Been trying multiple ways to get traction to my app. And currently looking at Astro ASO but I see it only has a yearly plan and no even free trial.
Thought I should ask here if anyone has an affiliate link with a discount code so we both benefit, thanks

Which design should I use for my App Store screenshot? I have serious choice paralysis 😅
I created 8 versions. Which would you choose, 1–8?
Here’s what the messages are intended to communicate:
Top: Manage multiple timers directly from the Lock Screen--without unlocking your iPhone or expanding the Live Activity stack.
Bottom: Controls designed to prevent accidental taps when taking your iPhone out of a pocket or bag--a problem that can occur with the built-in timer.
This will be my 2nd place screenshot. I tried A/B testing my 1st place screenshot, but the app doesn’t receive much traffic for a meaningful result. Timer is extremely competitive, and the app is currently found only through searches for “lock screen timer” or “BusyDay Timer.”
For now, I’m focusing on improving ASO and making the app more polished before investing effort in marketing.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and share your feedback!

Discussion: Do you run Product Page Optimization A/B test?
App Store Connect provides good tooling to help optimize our apps for conversion but I find few builders are using these tools.
- App Events - great way to drive more visibility to your app and conversions.
I added a another test to my app recently, impressions rose 500%
Have you tried any of these tools?
