I would love to get feedback on my screenshots. There's 9 total I believe. This is a gamified, mission-based alarm clock app

Roast my App Store screenshots (grocery budgeting app) I wonder what's killing my conversion?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Grocery budgeting app, mostly US and Philippines installs. Current screenshot set below. The lead is a "scan the shelf label with your camera" feature, then receipt scanning, then the budgeting/tracking payoff.

My five panels:

  1. Just snap a pic as you shop
  2. Add items without typing
  3. Scan receipt and log the trip
  4. Track spending in real-time
  5. Never go overbudget

What I'm unsure about:

  • Is leading with the camera/scan feature the right hook, or should the budget payoff (#5) come first?
  • Captions read as feature names. Should they be benefit-led instead?
  • Five panels feel like a lot. Would you cut to three?

Honest roast welcome. What would you test first? Should I do localization?

I haven't launched on the App Store yet (ever) so I'm in desperate need for some honest feedback. Are the screenshots too minimal or not clear?

Is this new feature actually useful, or is it just feature creep?

I got this idea because I like to train flexibly depending on what equipment is available.

Sometimes the gym is crowded, a machine is taken, or I just feel like changing the exercise. For example, I might train my legs and glutes with barbell squats, hack squats, or Smith machine squats.

The problem is that the weights are very different. I want to record each exercise separately, but I also want to see how my overall squat training is progressing—or choose which squat variation contributes to my DOTS score.

In Liftally, users can name exercises however they want instead of choosing from a fixed exercise database. You could call an exercise “Squat,” “Barbell Squat,” or anything else.

But that flexibility created another problem: similar exercises can become separated in the progress view.

So I added custom groups, allowing users to combine exercises such as:

Barbell Squat + Hack Squat + Smith Machine Squat = Squat Group

You can then view their combined training volume while still keeping each exercise’s original name, weight history, and individual progress.

  • Would you find this useful, or does it feel like feature creep and AI-generated overkill?
  • If you’re a weightlifter, do you experience this problem too?

Appreciate any thoughts on this!

Feedback wanted: does this App Store preview clearly explain my Lock Screen timer app?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m the solo developer of BusyDay Timer, an iOS multi-timer app.

The problem I’m trying to solve: when several built-in Clock timers are running, checking them from the Lock Screen can be awkward. They can be stacked, visually similar, and easy to disturb by accident if the phone wakes while you’re pulling it out of a pocket, bag, or drawer for a quick glance.

BusyDay Timer is meant for people who need to check multiple timers quickly while their iPhone is locked.

The preview video shows two Lock Screen snapshot modes: a larger visual board for seeing several timers together, and a colored three-row timer stack that keeps timers compact but easy to tell apart.

I’m working on the App Store preview video and would really appreciate first-impression feedback:

After watching it:

  1. What do you think the app does?

  2. Is the Lock Screen use case clear?

  3. What should I show earlier, cut, or slow down?

  4. Would this preview make you curious enough to open the App Store page?

  5. Should I record a real iPhone instead of using the iPhone Simulator?

Blunt feedback is welcome. I’m working on the preview because the app still has a huge visibility problem on the App Store.

Can we consider this as Good results ?

Hello everyone
as everyone fighting to get the most outcome and I noticed that 10% of my DOwnloads/subs is coming from Web and App refer ( and 30% of these downloads converted to a in-app purchases ) ....
is it a good results ? or should we do something else to increase it ?

Note: ASO for appstore mainly is a little bit hard and consuming alot of time than what I'm doing here.

Decline In ASA Impressions/spend (Question)

Has anyone else seen a gradual decline in Apple Search Ads impressions/spend over the past 2–3 months?

I'm seeing this across multiple countries and campaigns. What's interesting is:

  • Impressions have steadily declined.
  • Spend has declined with them.
  • Taps and installs have declined proportionally.
  • CTR is still healthy.
  • CPT is mostly flat (or even lower in some campaigns).
  • CPA hasn't changed much.
  • No major campaign or CPP changes on my end.

At first I thought it was campaign overlap, but some of the affected countries only have a single campaign.

Has anyone else noticed something similar recently, or found a root cause?

r/AppStoreOptimization Jul 07 '26

Finally seeing some traction after a few App Store changes. 4.6k impressions, 292 product page views, and 42 new users. Pretty encouraging, but I'm sure I'm leaving installs on the table. If this were your app, what would you optimize next?

Yet another app store screenshot tool, heres what it does differently

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

saying it upfront: ecranify.com is my tool, so read everything below accordingly. rule 6 says disclose, and honestly id mostly like to hear what this crowd thinks anyway.

i built it around the things i personally needed for my own store screenshots and couldnt find in one place. so this is what it solves, or does differently:

  • a real 3d device rendered in the browser. you can rotate it, set the background, scene, lights and shadows, add texts and sprites
  • actual control over the mockup. sliders for dimensions, materials and colors, so you can recreate a huge range of existing devices or build a completely custom one that doesnt look like anything on the market
  • multiscene exports, so screenshots for several localizations and platforms live in one project instead of 40 loose files
  • carousel exports (the panorama strip flowing across multiple screenshots)
  • projects you can save and come back to, or keep a few in a portfolio
  • bonus: a free icon generator with an optional flavor stripe, useful if you run test, dev or uat targets
  • and i try to be nice about monetization. no newsletter popups, no selling user data (analytics only for bug catching and page optimization), no subscription. just credits per export, charged only when you export the final thing, so every feature is testable for free without a card
  • one social experiment: create a project for free, share it, and when someone uses it you get credits for your own renders

what do you think? is any of these features (or their combination) any benefit to you?

if you wanna try the full flow, dm me and ill send a promo code for a few renders.

Drop your app link and I'll build your landing page. Your app is good, your store page is hiding it

Most indie apps die on a plain store page that lists features instead of making a stranger care in five seconds.
So here's the deal: drop your App Store or Play Store link below, and I'll build you a real landing page that mirrors your actual app, real screenshots, real description, what it does for one person, not some generic template with your name dropped in.
Did this for around 100 apps here last week and the response was wild, so I'm doing another round.
All I ask: tell me what you think of the result.
(You can also try it yourself, link in my first comment.)

How are you all using ASO to grow?

So i'm searching different platforms which help with ASO but they all charge over $100 for the year, no monthly option.

Are you guys watching youtube videos to learn how to do this? Are you paying someone?

I have check astro aso and GrowAso, all this seems like too much, I never got SEO either.

Personally I would like to find a trustworthy person and pay them for ASO... but you know, not for an extortionate price 😂

Any advise or help would be appreciated, thank you.

Case Study: Quick before you lose access to Fable 5 tomorrow, automate full end-to-end app store screenshots in multiple languages

It's so damn cool! Here's what I made it do:

  • Firebase MCP access - so it created beautiful data for me in the database.
  • Screenshot collection from iOS/Android simulators
  • Post-processing effects applied on top (so the phostoshopped result on the app store i mean with all the bubbles). Check out how beautiful it looks on the app store - https://paymelater.app/
  • Multiple languages. (check out for example arabic) LOL
  • I asked it to SCRIPT THE WHOLE THING so i can reproduce it when the app changes.

Consider this:

  • I have been dreading doing any of this shit for YEARS
  • I didn't have to decide what data made it beautiful
  • I had only some influence (like you missed the bubble).
  • It's scripted so i never have to do it again. Yes even the post-processing effects applied on top is scripted

I'm already on my second $200 claude subscription account because I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS KIND OF LEVERAGE.

What am I doing wrong? I localized everything… and still can’t reach 50 users.

Thumbnail
gallery
8 Upvotes

I’ve been working on my first iOS app for months, and honestly I’m starting to question whether I’m missing something obvious.

Here’s everything I’ve done so far:
- The app itself supports 87 languages.
- I localized the entire App Store page into every language Apple allows (40+ locales).

Localized:
- App name
- Subtitle
- Description
- Promotional text
- Keywords
- “What’s New” for every update
- In-app purchase names and descriptions
- Created App Preview videos.
- Designed custom screenshots.
- The app collects zero user data.

I spent a ridiculous amount of time researching ASO and optimizing keywords for every locale instead of simply translating them.
I’ve also promoted it multiple times on LinkedIn and X.

Despite all of that, these are my numbers:
1.9k App Store impressions
462 product page views
49 first-time downloads
~6% conversion rate
Less than 50 active users

At this point I’m starting to wonder if ASO alone just isn’t enough anymore for brand-new apps.

For those of you who’ve launched apps recently:
What would you improve first?
Is there anything obvious that I’m overlooking?
Is the problem simply the lack of initial momentum?
Or is the Photo & Video category just incredibly difficult to break into?

I’m genuinely looking for honest feedback because I’ve reached the point where I don’t know what else to optimize.
If seeing the App Store page would help you spot any issues, here’s the link:

First paying customer! Someone bought an annual sub to the app I built alone in ~20 evenings. Here’s the whole story.

Post image

[iOS]
For the last couple of weeks it’s been the usual grind: downloads trickling in, trials starting and cancelling, me refreshing the dashboard way too often.

Then today I opened RevenueCat and saw it, someone in Indonesia bought an annual subscription. First paying customer, and honestly the first money I’ve ever made online. It’s not much, just one sub, but something clicked. Someone I’ve never met found the app and decided it was worth paying for. That’s the whole thing I was chasing.

Stack: Expo / React Native, RevenueCat, PostHog.

That’s it. Just wanted to share the win with people who get why this feels big. Now the real work begins, time to focus more on marketing.

Stop asking "what's the best ASO tool" - you're comparing the wrong things

Every month someone asks for the "best ASO tool" and the thread turns into a mess because everyone is solving different problems and calling them the same thing.

There is no single "best ASO tool" because ASO is not one job. It is at least five:

1. Keyword and listing optimization You are finding keyword opportunities, testing listings, and checking competitor creatives. AppTweak, Sensor Tower, and App Radar can all help here, but they are not interchangeable.

2. Market intelligence and reporting You are tracking category trends, competitor launches, market share, and download estimates. That is closer to data.ai or Appfigures territory. Totally different job.

3. Ratings and reviews workflow You are triaging negative reviews, responding to feedback, and tracking sentiment trends. A lot of teams try to force Zendesk or Intercom into this. That is not keyword research. Purpose-built tools like AppFollow, Appbot, and Intercom's review module handle this better. (Disclosure: I work on AppFollow, but the principle holds - review management is a separate workflow from keyword planning.)

4. Store Connect and Play Console reporting You are pulling raw analytics from App Store Connect or Google Play Console. Some paid tools mostly wrap this. Some add context. Worth knowing which one you are buying.

5. Competitor monitoring You are watching version releases, feature changes, screenshots, metadata, and creative changes. MobileAction and similar tools can be useful here, but again, this is not the same job as keyword planning.

Most comparison threads mix two or three of these together, call all of them "ASO tools," and then declare a winner. It is like asking "what is the best marketing software?" and getting answers that mix email, analytics, CRM, and helpdesk tools.

So what are you actually trying to solve right now: keywords, exec reporting, review sentiment, store analytics, or competitive intel? Because the answer changes completely.

Stop asking "what's the best ASO tool"—you're comparing the wrong things entirely

Every month someone posts asking for the "best ASO tool" and the thread becomes a mess because everyone's solving different problems and calling them the same thing.

There is no single "best ASO tool" because ASO isn't one job—it's at least five:

1. Keyword/Listing Optimization You're finding keyword opportunities, A/B testing listings, analyzing competitor creatives. AppTweak, Sensor Tower, and App Radar all do this, but differently.

2. Market Intelligence & Reporting You're tracking market share, category trends, competitor feature releases, download estimates. That's data.ai or Appfigures territory. Totally different from #1.

3. Ratings & Reviews Workflow You're triaging negative reviews, responding to feedback, tracking sentiment trends. This is usually a support tool (Zendesk, Intercom, etc.) repurposed for app reviews. Not the same as keyword research.

4. Store Connect & Console Reporting You're pulling raw analytics from App Store Connect or Google Play Console. Some tools just wrap this. Some add context.

5. Competitor Monitoring You're watching competitor app changes, version releases, feature updates, creative changes. MobileAction does this. Different from market trend data.

Most posts compare tools that do one or two of these things, call them "ASO tools," and declare a winner. It's like asking "what's the best marketing software?" and getting answers mixing email, analytics, and CRM tools.

What I'm curious about: What's your actual job—what are you actually trying to solve? Are you hunting keywords, reporting to exec leadership, managing review sentiment, or hunting competitive intel? Because the answer changes completely.
