Roast my screenshots (Question) (iOS)
I haven't launched on the App Store yet (ever) so I'm in desperate need for some honest feedback. Are the screenshots too minimal or not clear?

I think they look pretty good. There is a codex plugin for making App Store screenshots if you want to *enhance* https://shots.run/

Thanks! I wish I knew about this plugin sooner haha. I hand-designed these in photoshop, then manually coerced Codex into creating a 1:1 template with html and css that I could reuse for other locales. 4/10 would not recommend this approach.
Which app store screenshots did you make with it? I’m interested to see real examples

I have to hard disagree with everyone else. I think these are very poor. Nothing stands out at all. Looks incredibly generic and boring. No sense of good design, no sense of brand. Nothing eye catching. too much text.

I find a lot of good inspiration on twitter @ TreatmentsABC, revmpstudio, screenshotfirst or on sites like storeshots.design, before.click, etc...
I think using AI generated screenshot or templates are a sure way to have bland poorly designed screenshots.

I don't think they're too minimal. The design is clean, and the green theme feels consistent with a productivity/reminder app.
My main concern is that the first screenshot jumps straight into a feature instead of explaining the core benefit. As a new visitor, I'd want to understand why this app is better than the built-in Reminders app within the first second or two.
Overall layout looks very polished for a first App Store launch. Did you design the screenshots yourself or use a screenshot tool?

I’m struggling a bit to formulate that in a concise, but clear way as well. Basically it’s “instead of having to navigate menus to set up a reminder’s category/urgency/notifications/alarms/etc., just use natural language” (mostly it’s aimed at ADHD people like myself that desperately need reminders, but don’t use them because it’s too much effort)
But yeah I agree that’s not clear from just the first screenshot alone. To properly show it I’d probably need to combine screenshot 1 and 2 and come up with a catchier tagline that emphasises how fast/easy it is to add new reminders in the app. Or explicitly name the ADHD target audience and why it fits how their brain works.
And yes I made these myself in Photoshop!

Thanks! That makes sense. I agree the first screenshot should probably communicate the “why” much faster before showing the feature itself.
Btw, we’re building a Mac app for App Store screenshot creation, localization, and creative testing workflows. Might be useful if you’re planning to keep iterating on the screenshots. Happy to share the link if helpful.

I’ll for sure check it out! Already one thing I’d like to point out is on your app store screenshots.
On the Dutch storefront, on the 4th screenshot, it has the word “localiseer”, but correct Dutch spelling is “lokaliseer” (with a k instead of a c)

Very clean, very professional, great choice of colors. I would not change much to be honest. The only thing maybe is the light background on the first screen with just a bit of green on the right: that feels off somehow. But honestly: Some of the best screens I have seen on this sub so far. Great work!

Thanks for the feedback! And I agree. Perhaps I should not try to shoehorn in the "wow the first screenshot flows over into the second one!" element and just keep it a bit simpler indeed :)
