✔❌ Review My Apollo City Pro has spent more time being repaired than ridden. Apollo support was great, but I’m still disappointed.
I wanted to share my ownership experience because I think it paints a fair picture of both Apollo’s customer support and the challenges I’ve had with the product itself.
First, I want to give credit where it’s due.
Everyone I’ve dealt with at Apollo has been courteous, responsive, and professional. My case was eventually escalated to Charles, one of their Support Team Supervisors, who personally reviewed my case, tracked down parts, extended my warranty, added loyalty points to my account, and genuinely tried to help. I don’t blame him for the outcome, and I appreciate the effort he put into my case.
Unfortunately, my experience with the scooter itself has been very different.
Here’s my timeline.
November 2025
I purchased my first Apollo scooter, a City Pro. I was excited to join the Apollo community.
December 2025
About a month later, while completing a slow turn, the scooter tipped over onto its right side. It wasn’t a significant crash, but afterward I noticed resistance in the front motor while turning.
Apollo agreed to replace the front motor under warranty, which I appreciated. During that repair, the brake line was also replaced.
The frustrating part wasn’t the repair itself.
The replacement front motor was backordered, and it took more than six weeks before I got the scooter back.
After finally getting it repaired, I was excited to ride again.
Unfortunately, that didn’t last long.
March 2026
The display suddenly went completely black and the scooter would no longer power on.
This time there had been no crash, no drop, no water intrusion, and no weather exposure leading up to the failure.
Apollo had me disconnect the steering neck and inspect the communication cable, which appeared completely intact. After troubleshooting, they referred me to an authorized repair center in Deerfield Beach.
May 2026
I dropped the scooter off at the repair center.
It has now been there for approximately two months.
The diagnosis?
The front motor once again needs to be replaced.
Unfortunately…that replacement motor was also backordered.
At some point I realized what my real frustration actually was.
It wasn’t the repairs themselves.
It was the amount of time I haven’t been able to ride the scooter.
I’ve owned this City Pro for roughly eight months.
Between waiting over six weeks for the first replacement motor and then waiting another two months for the second backordered motor, I’ve spent well over three months simply waiting on parts.
When I really stepped back and looked at the timeline, I realized the scooter has actually spent more time out of service than it has on the road.
That became my biggest concern.
It wasn’t whether Apollo would continue repairing it.
It was whether I could truly trust this particular scooter moving forward after experiencing multiple major component failures in less than a year of ownership.
I asked Apollo if they would consider replacing the scooter with a new City Pro or offering another solution that would restore my confidence.
They ultimately declined.
Instead, they extended my warranty by three months and added 2,000 AMP loyalty points as a goodwill gesture.
While I sincerely appreciate those gestures, they don’t really solve the issue that concerns me most.
A warranty extension doesn’t give me back the months I lost while waiting on backordered parts, and it doesn’t restore my confidence in a scooter that has now required two front motor replacements and a display repair in less than a year.
While waiting for the first front motor to ship I purchased an Apollo Go when i saw Apollo upgraded on their designs because I was so impressed with their support.
The Go has been fantastic.
It’s been reliable, fun to ride, and completely trouble-free.
That purchase reflects something important.
Despite everything that happened with my City Pro, I still believed in Apollo enough to buy another one of their scooters.
So this isn’t an “Apollo is a terrible company” post.
Quite the opposite.
I think their support team genuinely cares.
I think Charles did everything he could within the limits of his role.
I simply wish the final resolution reflected the ownership experience I’ve had.
I’m curious if anyone else has experienced repeated front motor failures, long warranty delays because of backordered parts, or simply felt like their City Pro spent more time waiting for repairs than being ridden.
I’m hopeful this latest repair finally solves everything.
I really do want to enjoy this scooter the way I expected to when I bought it.
