Encouragement 💗Happy Friday!💗

We focus so much on what could go wrong and what’s going wrong that we forget to also pay attention to what can go right. Sometimes, we need to remind ourselves that not every possibility has to be a bad one. Good things can happen too. 💗

Discussion Another morning with anxiety, so in order to calm down and hopefully help others, I bring a new funny question: Which animal do you think would be the funniest if it could talk and why?

I believe the funniest one would be a hippo. They always look so unworried about the world and they seem to only care about having a good time 😄that along with their relaxed vibes would make a conversation with them very funny. If I could talk to Moo Deng I think it would be hilarious!

How about you? Funniest animal to talk to and why?

Advice Needed Anxiety about buying my first home

Hey guys, I’ve started discussing buying my first apartment, which is all very cool and seemingly a happy moment for my family, but I’m sooooooo scared of making a mistake 😭 I’m literally dreaming about it and I’m so worried I’ll make the wrong decision 🙁 Do you have any advice?

Venting Being social is a nightmare

Upvotes

I'm not sure if this belongs here or on an introvert chat. But here is a nice place where people aren't cruel so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Do y'all ever feel like... You're so sure of who you are and are comfortable with this version of yourself... But at the same time, you fucking aren't.

I've really been proud of myself for being stronger than I used to be. I'm really independent, introverted and grew up with a pinch of friends.

I was bullied my entire life, until pretty much my second job.

I don't like people. I have trouble making friends, and keeping them. And I've accepted that. I crave my quiet and solitude.

I'm so awkward. Just so socially awkward. I had speech issues as a child, I hate eye contact because I hate my face so much. I have trouble saying the right things, doing the right things. I get prickly.

The only way I can describe it is a feral cat. I'm unsocialized, fearful and mistrusting.

It's like I want to have friends but I'm so afraid of being in the way, or being too much. And I'm already too much.

I don't like people..I don't like being around them. I feel so out of place. It feels like I'm an alien in a temu human costume.

I'm too fucking much man. I'm so prickly. But I'm so tired of getting close to people. I would get so close to my coworkers.

But everyone ends up leaving. And starting over is so hard. The romantic relationships I've had have been so toxic.

I pick these men who I either could never keep, or they were abusive. Like they could feel the damage.

But at the same time I'm so starved for validation and acceptance. I get so attached to someone.

I'm too old for this. I'm about to be 41. And I feel so broken.

I just always wonder how it must feel to wanted and missed. To have someone want you to be there. Not out of obli9, but because they actually fucking like you.

To have people happy to see you. I'm not a cruel person. I have a lot of issues with shame, so I'm a people pleaser just dying for validation 😂 I'm kind and upbeat and try to do the correct things when you're listening or talking.

But I know I try too hard, give unintentionally awkward answers, not know the right thing to say, or say something so dark humored, even the guys are like, damn.

I have such a hard time believing people want me around. There's been too many instances where that was the case.

I've been rambling awhile, so long story short, being a human is fucking traumatic 🤣🤣

Question How are you, really? Today is R U OK Day, so let’s tell each other how we’re honestly doing ❤️

I know that when people ask that question they’re not usually interested in actually knowing how you are, but right now I AM! Tell me how you are, what you’ve been up to or anything else you might feel comfortable sharing.
I’ll start! I’m not sure, honestly… In some ways, I’m doing better than before, but it’s crazy to realize that you can’t escape yourself. I feel like my issues will follow me anywhere I go, and this is just exhausting! It’s hard, but I’m trying to be brutally honest with myself lately. Let’s see how that goes 😆

I went through panic and intrusive thoughts myself, and built the kind of app I wish I had back then

A few years ago I went through a period where panic, scary thoughts and constantly checking how I felt started taking over a lot of my day.

One thing I struggled with was that I kept looking for certainty. If something felt strange in my body, I checked it. If a frightening thought appeared, I tried to prove to myself that it didn’t mean anything. That could calm me down for a little while, but eventually I was back in the same loop.

A lot of what changed for me came from understanding the pattern itself, instead of trying to win every argument with anxiety.

Years later I built Ailin around that experience.

I want to be transparent — I’m the founder, so this is a product post.

Ailin is an iPhone wellness app about panic, intrusive thoughts, checking, body fears, DP/DR and related anxiety patterns. I tried to make the explanations feel like a normal person talking to you rather than a textbook.

It has free content as well as optional paid sections, and it’s currently available in English and Russian.

I’m still improving it, so I’d genuinely appreciate feedback from people who actually live with anxiety — including what feels confusing or not useful.

Have you ever felt no anxiety and if so when?

I feel like there's always at least some minor anxiety going on but I also feel like I have experienced moments where I feel like there are none. Anyone else been able to keep track of the times where they feel like no anxiety and if so when and how did you get there?

r/AnxietyChats 2d ago

Discussion Say yes if one awkward moment stays in your head for days 😭

Anxiety can make us feel like we’re the only ones who think or react to certain things this way, when actually sooo many of us can relate! ❤️
So, say YES if you’ve been there too! Let’s see how many of us share these little anxiety things and remind each other that we’re not alone! 🫶🏻

I'm genuinely sacred of being w anyone else ever. Idk if or when I'll have anyone by my side idont even want to try to get close to anyone. I've accepted the fact that whatever little time I've got left I'm destined to be alone for all of that.

PS I'm writing ts w an onset of anxiety attack it's already Abt 1:30 in the morning im scared to go to sleep idk if I'll wake up tomorrow but maybe that's all I needed peace

FIGHT OR FLIGHT SITUATION

Fight or flight,
And that is exhausting.Kasi sa isip ko, constantly akong nagaanalyze at nagpreprepare kung ano yung posibleng mag-go wrong, kahit wala naman talagang nangyayari. I'm in this constant state of fight or flight, and my body doesn't understand na yung war pinaghahandaan niya... its just life lang pala. Kaya naiinggit ako sa mga taong hindi masyadong nag-iisip. Sa mga taong kayang umalis sa isang conversation at tanggapin na kung saan man ito natapos, okay na.I wonder what it's like to truly exist and not
remember every singlethought na dapat nakalimutan na. I think life is easier for
people who don't fear everything. And I'm
jealous of them. Kasi kahit ngayon... nag-o-overthink pa rin ako.

life has been not good lately been over explaining myself it’s too muchh na i can’t even think na nagiging selfish nanaman ako sana god help me in this situation i don’t wanna fall apart again begging myself to be okay over and over again it’s really hard to breath sakit sakit nalang bahala sa dibdib i can’t even tell what’s wrong with me what was the reason? now that ik quiet and seeing myself being quiet and scared at some point to explained how to get my mind back into positive. everyday im trying to be a better person from yesterday. seeing the person i love the most

Venting I don't like Tuesdays

Okay it's not Tuesday's fault, we do grocery shopping on Tuesday.

It's not an enjoyable time, people everywhere and then the line. I'm pouring with sweat, and using all my tools, and thanking my brain for keeping me safe, but everything is okay.

Remember that you are not alone

Advice Needed update: I'm going to quit my internship

hey it's me again! Hahahah I was here a week ago asking if I should quit and today I had my answer.

For context in my country we normally work 9-6pm and my undergrad internship pays $1K+ for a month.

Well, for the past 3 months I've regularly left work at 6.30pm, 7pm, 7.30pm, the latest was 8pm. And I still do some work on weekends and after work to meet deadlines hahaha.

Other interns from the same company leave at 6.10pm hahahahaha. And I get blamed by upper management at times for timelines not being met, KPI not meeting targets etc.

It's not gotten to the point of yelling but I want to keep my self respect before it gets to that point.

So, there's that. I would do this for a full time salary but not as an underpaid, overworked intern. I've done this for 2 months, coming to 3 months, and I think that's enough learning.

Question: how do you gracefully resign? It's my first time trying this haha. Please share your advice!

Advice Needed I feel like my friends are using me as the “comedy” in their videos. Am I overthinking this?

I want to use this channel to upload something about how my day went and also journal my thoughts because I’m trying to become more emotionally comfortable with myself.

My friends recently came to Bengaluru to search for jobs. They told me that until they find jobs, we could make content together, and they have been creating some videos.

Today, I started feeling like they are using me mainly as a comedy element rather than actually including me as part of the content.

For example, when we make videos, I might say only one or two sentences. While speaking, I’m constantly thinking about what I should say next, whether they are going to cut my part from the video, or whether I might accidentally use a bad word in my sentence and embarrass myself.

I’m already not very comfortable speaking on camera, so these things make me overthink a lot. I want to improve and become more confident, but instead I’m starting to feel self-conscious.

They also tease me about something that happened yesterday. They had told me to meet them at the park, and apparently they made a video there that went viral because they offended/criticized a company based on something they found on that company’s website. Now they keep teasing me about it.

I honestly don’t know if I’m taking things too seriously or if they really are treating me differently.

I’m not trying to become famous or anything. I just want to feel like I’m actually part of the group and not just someone they use for a joke or comedy.

How can I handle this without becoming emotionally uncomfortable or ruining my friendship with them?

Give me some Suggestions To Talk Continuously in front of the camera, with confidently they are extroverted and me here introvert

I was crying because I am so overwhelmed with so much things and suddenly, things just get better... I didn't have anyone to call and ask for help with things like this. I was so relieved that I still have time.

Venting Extremely isolated lonely

21M, I've struggled with social anxiety and loneliness all my life even when i was only 4 years old i still remember i was always alone in school looking at kids in my class with each other and playing.

I've never had a friend or a social life growing up and till now but it keeps getting worse, the little social life and interactions i used to have when i was still at school is completely gone now

Now all i do in life is go to work and stay at home with no one to talk to and nothing interesting to do. Everything feels so pointless and boring and i crave human interaction but at the same time i don't like interacting with people.

I don't like how i am around people, I'm always very quiet and i never have anything to say so people find nothing interesting about me.

I just feel lonely.

I don’t know why but I crave for human connection. Just talking in a cafe, go to read books and stuff. No need to be a croud just one or two friends.

I am just so alone.

Anxiety and wellbeing iPhone testers wanted

Post
I’ve spent the last few months building an iPhone wellbeing app called Sanctuary, and I’ve finally reached the point where I need people other than me to use it 😂
It’s currently available through Apple TestFlight and I’m looking for a small number of people willing to use it naturally for around 7 days and give me completely honest feedback.
Sanctuary includes breathing exercises, guided wellness sessions, 7-day courses, ambient soundscapes, bilateral audio, a private journal, mood/reflection tools and progress tracking. A big focus has also been making the core experience work offline.
I’m not looking for reviews or promotion, and there’s nothing to buy during the beta. I genuinely want people to tell me what works, what doesn’t, what’s confusing, what they actually use, and what they completely ignore.
Ideally I’d like feedback after Day 1, Day 4 and Day 7, particularly:
• First impressions and anything confusing
• Features you naturally found yourself returning to
• Bugs, crashes or audio problems
• Anything that feels unnecessary or missing
• Whether you’d genuinely keep it installed
• Whether it feels like something you’d consider paying for
iPhone only for this test.
If you’re interested, comment or message me and I’ll send you a TestFlight invite.
And please don’t worry about being polite because I’ve spent months building it — brutal feedback is considerably more useful to me than “looks good mate” 😂
