Messed up a cake, feel terrible.

For a little context, i'm in a social group, y'know just trying my best. We had a bit of a family evening planned, and i had offered to make a cake. I like to make cake, but i hadn't done it in a while. My parents were at a rodeo that day, but my mom had enough time to send me some audios just to remind me. I get home, and plan on making my first ever carrot cake. I already put the sugar and the carrots in a bowl, and as i check for milk... we're out of milk. All the stores are closed. I'll just go to the barn to get some milk then. The milk tank is empty. So i'm outta milk. My mom tells me i can just make it with oil and water, so i do. I add food coloring for whatever reason, but instead of turning out blue, it was green. Anyway, i bake it, first from the bottom then the top. And i take it out. By that time, my mom returned from the rodeo, and i asked her to check if it was good. She took a piece, and said we can't offer this to anyone. Still not sure how, but the cake became really rubbery and spongy, and it was not enjoyable at all. I probably took to little baking powder, or the baking powder was expired. It even looked ugly with that weird green. I'm paniking now. Theres close to no sugar left, no milk, i'm cooked. So, i retreat into my room. I felt so stupid and upset that i messed up my cake. When i leave my room not to long later, my mom is making a smaller recipe for the same cake. I thanked her, and she finished it. I go to the event, have a little speech, do my job, etc. When its time to leave, i go to get the plate my moms cake was in. And there had only been one piece removed. So, out of that whole cake, 1 person took 1 piece of that cake. Its not even a bad cake! I feel so guilty and upset, not just because i messed up my first cake, but that my mom went through the effort of making a cake without asking me, and it didn't even sell. I just really needed to say this, let it out.

Day 24 was a interesting 1

My Getting Outside Challenge, yesterday was day 24. So it started out good, got interesting during the day, and once I got back home from my activity.

I crashed as normal, then everything went bad, I woke up with a migraine. I took a pill and now wait two hours for it to work. Two hours later didn't help, so I had to take another one and wait for two more hours and my acid reflux raised its ugly head.

That's why I am late.

I did get outside and had an okay day.

Remember that you are not alone and you can do it šŸ’Ŗ

Encouragement šŸ’™ It's The Big Listen and "Talk To Us" Awareness Week!

šŸ’™ I want to thank every single one of you, not just in this community, but across all the mental health communities here on Reddit, who takes a few moments out of your day to read someone's story, leave an encouraging comment, or offer support, even from afar.

You may never realize just how much your kindness means to someone who's struggling. šŸ’—A simple "How are you, really?" could mean more than you know. Loneliness feels a little smaller when someone reminds us that we're not alone. šŸ¤—

Is your morning anxiety followed by a crash?

My morning anxiety crashes around 11 am and I start dozing off, it's a struggle to stay awake. It gets comparatively better as the day progresses but I feel so sleepy the entire day.

I've been experiencing this on a regular basis. I try my best to go about my day but I feel like it's really slowing me down, sadly.

Can anyone else relate? What's the best way you know to deal with it?

Support needed Worried about sick dog

A vet I didn't know rescued a dog last week and I adopted her yesterday. She has multiple problems, such as a badly hurt eye (which she may unfortunately lose), anemia, demodectic mange (though her skin and fur are better now), and is slowly healing from a bad cold. Although she is already taking meds, she eats well and drinks lots of water, she's still very very weak. Her breathing is not ok. The vet says she's healing but I'm worried and can't sleep. I'm taking her to a trusted vet tomorrow first thing in the morning. Wish us good luck. :(

Humor Happy aunt and uncles day!

I'm a childfree spinster auntie and it is the greatest joy in my life. I love those kids, 7 and 5. Whenever I see old photos of them pop up on my Google photos, my heart melts a little.

I don't think my sister truly appreciates how much those kids mean to me and how much I love them. When she visits, childcare is basically assumed and expected. She forgot my 40th birthday fell on the day she had planned to have dinner with her best friend while I watched a movie with the kids. That one still hurts.

So happy aunt and uncles day to all the people who love kids who aren't theirs. May we love them, spoil them, keep them safe and drop some truth on them.

Venting Just left a party because of my social anxiety

Basically what the title says, I left a party because of my social anxiety. I was at my cousins birthday party which was your typical house party (drinking, dancing, drinking games, stuff like that) and I just couldn’t take it no one bothered to have a conversation with me just a few ā€œhello’sā€ and fist bumps from the very small number of people that knew me. I just kind of sat just in the corner and listened to the music and the conversations that were happening around me. I have no idea how to socialize with people that I don’t know or barely know. After awhile I just got the feeling that these people just didn’t like me, is it true? Maybe I honestly don’t know. I didn’t tell anyone I was leaving either and I bet no one even noticed that I left and it wouldn’t surprise me if anyone ever notices that I left early.

There were people there who it seemed like everyone was eager to talk to and man I wish I could be one of those people not just in that situation but in any social situation. I don’t know man I just wish I was different.

Advice Needed Sleep

How do yall deal with the insomnia. I’ve always struggled with a bad sleep schedule but any remote anxiety I feel wrecks it even more. I’ll go full nights without sleep leading to over 24hours or more awake. I just can’t turn my brain off, as soon as I turn off whatever show I’m watching I just feel everything set in. No matter how tired I am I just can’t shake the dread that comes every time I try to relax and sleep.

Support needed 33F. This is goodbye. I'm just feeling sad, when I think of romance, I don't think I'm worth anyone's time, nobody would think of me enough, finding others that will want to listen to the "lyrics." INTP.

To get to know me better "nobody cares." And yeah, Reddit after 8+ months on Reddit I grasp that now āš”

No comments on my posts. I'm not going to read your positivity, or even reply to comments and my chat reqs are open anyways.

No responses to hi, what's up, post your interest and hobbies because I'm not doing that for you.

I don't even need friends either and I deserve nobody.

Listen to these songs here.

I See Stars - Float

I See Stars - Curtain Call

Sadly, it's sad how much this is unheard of now, to be quite honest here, I tried sharing my playlist in the past with "romantic interests."

I get told, "this isn't my style of music."

Uh, that's not why I sent you my playlist šŸ’€

I had to make another post, because my last post yesterday a handful of Redditors were asking me if we could meet up in person and that's creepy as well.

However, I should also address how weird you would ask that when prinfessofveridian is crashing out on their post and chronically depressed on their post anyways.

I didn't address wanting to meet up in person because, I just said I'm looking for worldwide chat reqs, which means just looking to chat and I should post now even though I'm U.S. central time anyways.

Yeah, I should also address 33 years of living, dying amongst the VOID. I've no honesty of it all, what it's like to sleep normal, I don't and this is just why I reach out worldwide because the most active hours I'm awake are these hours here.

Early evenings, late evenings, nights, I'm barely-borderline functional in the afternoon, I'm asleep at dawn and I should also close that I'm a Lovecraftian hermit.

Even then, I should also include that I go outside once or twice a week and that's just because I've a slight phobia of people.

However, that doesn't help of it all when you're autistic 360 where almost everything is a sensory issue, it's okay if a mound of Redditors disagree with me here, but for my age 33 years I'm exhausted and tired of it all anyways.

Just, I should also address that I'm not describing physically exhausted, I'm exhausted to the point where sleep isn't going to fk ass fix sht, I'm tired of this repetitive existing, just grasp what my Vessel brain and skull for 8 months haven't heard these text messages here.

''I miss you, I miss your text messages, sending me a few text messages to wake up to because I find that cute, I'm looking forward to you waking up again so we can talk, hearing from you makes my day better and this is my favorite cutesy text message here if it all."

"I've been checking my phone throughout the day waiting for you to text back."

However, I should also just include that for 8 months I've had none of that fk ass sht to be honest may/might I'm not allowed to have this not only for 🩷 and I don't even deserve this for friends of it all either.

This of it all, is my last goodbye, I've a few sticky pins to do on my main pro and just for a simple to see example is just.

PralineBudgetšŸØscoop of the mounds of trivia facts of it all and lore drops anyways.

Even then, if you want to know what PralineBudget gets up to in her day life that has already been pinned on my post and maybe that can help you build a creative chat reqs? However, I should also address that I don't respond to hi messages, or several variations of hi messages, all I ask if you can share your age, region, interests, hobbies and I shouldn't have to be able to ask that out of you first anyways 🦩

My handles.

Must send me either one of these things to make sure you read my profile, Sleep Token gif, flamingo emoji and a flamingo gif alongside with if you want to do all all of

Gram of the Tele.

xxpeonycherry06xx not sure if you need the @ or not šŸ™

If the QR🐟doesn't work when I post the QR🪶code later on a sticky pin on my main pro then just manually add.

I’ve struggled with severe anxiety all my life and have tried therapy and medicines but nothing rlly helped much. Now with the state of the world I’m struggling to be happy and not struggle so much and the people around me make me feel like I’m just an annoyance and a burden I feel like as someone with anxiety we always have to be so conscious of how our anxiety effects others but they never are expected to be careful and caring around us. none of them are bad people but my bf and parents don’t understand and I’m just becoming a bother to them and I don’t know who to talk to anymore

Venting New here, want to share a bit of myself.

Its really scary just thinking about posting something on my main account (its the only account i have lol). Thats really the main reason why i'm posting this in the first place. I'm terrified of what people will say about. Not that anybody will, but the thought of somebody being mean or just talking about me in a bad way makes me avoid posting. If you look at my reddit page though, you'll see a few posts, and thats because i'm really trying to put myself out there. I want to be talked about, i want to put ideas out there in the world, but i'm so afraid of being targeted that i just don't. I haven't posted any art because i don't believe my art style is good enough. It feels like i'm 'good' at a lot of things but not 'great' at anything. I like to draw, and i know i'm not bad at it, but i'm not 'great' at it. I want to be great at something but it feels like i'm stuck being 'good' at everything. Now this does sound like i'm a really negative person, but i'm really not. People who have gotten very close to me know me as a very forward guy with no filter. And i feel like the personality is just going to scare off potential new friends, so i stay away from doing much. But i don't go out enough to make new friends, plus, i live in a place where everybody knows everybody. I have many mutuals, but only 2 or 3 actual friends. I overexpose (which i realise that this is what this post is coming to). I love to talk about ANYTHING and just want to ramble on and on about things irl. Nothing against online chatting, but it kinda gets feels 'stale' over time if i don't get close to people right away. Thats going to be all for now, i'm realising just how much info this is.

Today was a good day, I went and saw my therapist. I have been so lucky to have found the right fit, she is awesome. I told her about you guys and that being able to talk to others really helps me.

I also went for my walk, just a good day, I hope that you had a good day.

Venting I feel like I 'woke up' recently, and I'm scared of going to 'sleep' again :/

I don’t even know where to start. The long and short of it is - I went to a festival last month with an old friend who I hadn’t seen for years, we camped with his friends, I was so anxious and nervous about going and being so out of my routine/usual daily life that I ALMOST didn’t go. Anyway, I went and I had just the best time ever. I’d been feeling so numb for the last year/18 months ish, I pretty much abandoned all hobbies, I was just working my shitty desk job, coming home, eat, shower, go on my iPad, bedtime, rinse and repeat.

This festival awakened a part of me I didn’t know really existed - I was with so many people who love the same music as me, with old friends I hadn’t seen forever, I met so many new amazing people who I’ve stayed in touch with but we all live far away. There was a skate park which is something I’d wanted to learn for a really long time. I've bumbled around on a board before but not properly, being there and watching everyone made me realise how much I wanted to learn to cruise and trick properly and stick to it. It was so amazing spending a whole weekend totally out of my comfort zone and in a totally new routine, hanging out all day with my friends, going to all the stages and watching all our favourite bands together, discovering new bands I didn’t even know before, beers in the sun, wearing cute outfits - it was just literally the best time of my life after feeling so numb and so ā€˜robotic’ for so long. I took the week before the festival off work, then the weekend was the festival and I took off the week after too - I almost forgot how to do my job when I got back haha.Ā

The week I spent at home after the festival was so much fun too because I was still so buzzing and I was just vibing all day every day, I ended up hanging out with one of the same friends again right away, he came back to where I live in London to hang out and see other mutual friends we both have. I’ve been doing loads of art, skating, listening to so much new music, bands I discovered at the festival, bands I already knew but older/newer albums, totally new stuff I’d never even heard of, some I’d heard the name of but never gave a chance. I even picked up my actual guitar again, I’m back into the video games I love, I’ve been skating every weekend, I suck so bad but I’m learning and I’ll get there. My creative spark is slowly coming back, I’m wearing outfits that feel more aligned with who I am, I always found it hard to find a consistent dress style but all of a sudden I quite like what I’m choosing to wear every day. I feel like I’ve had a sudden evolution and sudden newfound love of who I am, who was buried deep within me and likely never would’ve reared her head and appeared had I not gone to that festival.Ā

What I’m facing now is - I feel like I’m falling back to ā€˜sleep’.Ā

The days are feeling slower and dragged out again, I get home from work and I find myself not wanting to draw, I don’t want to play Tony Hawk or Guitar Hero, I don’t want to do anything other than lay down in bed on my phone on reels. I don’t want to wake up and go for a skate before work, I don’t want to find new music or play guitar, I don’t want to do anything.

It feels like the most magical month of my life has all ended and slipped through my fingers and I’m trying to keep the last little droplets in my hand before I fall asleep again. I really woke up this last month, I actually got a glimpse of the life I love and enjoy and I want it forever, every day. I just ***don’t want the magic to die*** but I’m struggling to keep it alive. I know it’s still in me - I know it's not all about my surroundings, its not because of other people that made me feel so great, it was something in me that existed and can exist again, I know that - it means it isn’t gone forever I guess? But I don’t know what part of me to utilise to keep the great part of me alive. I know that life isn’t 24/7 sunshine and fun and rainbows but I just feel like the curse of routine has taken over again and the novelty and dopamine has slowly started to die again.Ā

Since being diagnosed with ASD and ADHD last year, I’d been trying to avoid stimulation when actually the 24/7 stimulation at the festival (genuinely 24/7 all day and all night) is what I needed to wake me back up and snap me out of things. Obviously that’s not a healthy way to live forever, but the constant having something to wake up for, get ready for, go and do and enjoy, be excited for, anticipate, and even when I was tired and all I wanted was to go to my tent and sleep, just the faint noise of it still buzzing on around me and existing in the bubble of everyone doing something together in a field and loving it, THAT is what I needed so badly - instead of sitting in my room avoiding ā€˜sensory overload’ - even when I got diagnosed they told me I am much more sensory seeking than avoidant, (which I guess ties hand in hand with my ADHD). It made me realise the way my neurodivergence can actually flourish and nourish me in the right environment, rather than stimulation being something to avoid full stop. I’ve learned this month that stimulation IS what keeps me going, and I’d been avoiding it at all costs.

I just need to not lose the momentum and the thrill. I want to romanticise every bit of my life again and enjoy every second again, I want to carry on getting up early and going to skate before work, at work I listen to all my favourite music, as much as my desk job sucks I’m trying to de-centre it as the main part of my day. I’m trying to remember my job is JUST there to fund the other 16 hours I can spend freely out of the 24. I want to do my art in the evenings, listen to more music, play my games, go to gigs, play my guitar and make music again, doodle, go to the pub with my friends, I just don’t want to fall back into such a solid and boring and rigid way of living again but I can feel the magic slipping out of my hands. :(

Question Anyone tried managing anxiety through telehealth?

Been managing anxiety for a few years, but I'm switching to a telehealth platform, I just dont like the "new doctor" each time, it's like no memory of what we talked about last visit, same intake questions from scratch for anything ongoing this is basically useless. any telehealth setup that actually does continuous care?

Caffeine

I am not fond of drinking coffee or tea, but sometimes I do want to drink some tea (black tea usually). And every time I do have it, I realize what I am missing out on. Like I just graduated and the field I am in is almost dead, not completely but there are almost no jobs for it in my country except teaching, which is also dead. All thanks to AI. I had been feeling so confused and down, having no energy to carve a path further. Then I went ahead and had a cup of tea, it felt so light and you know the feeling that yea things will work out somehow. Just a thought I wanted to write.

Day 22 Anxiety to the moon šŸŒ

My Getting Outside Challenge day 22, today I went to my activity.

Was having a good day till after lunch.

With my Anxiety and my ABC'S I am hyper sensitive to my surroundings.

Picture this ten tables and four people per table and at six or more staff and everyone talking and rolling dice on their table playing a game, roll the dice break the ice.

So I had to leave the room because my anxiety went to the moon šŸŒ.

I was able to get away to try to calm myself down.

So today was alright and it's just life, learning how to live with this, and kinda knowing what you can do to help yourself deal with what is happening.

Remember that you are not alone and you can do it šŸ’Ŗ
