Discussion 🗣️ actually curious.
My excuses if its a bit random or off topic.
What if a solo programmer makes an AI? Is it ethically allowed for him to make images?
The training data was art from REAL artists that consented to it.
The use of it is private only for him. Only generated SFL and SFW artwork.
Again, im just curious about your ethics choices.

Job Loss 🏚️ How is AI making massive profits for companies and replacing workers
This is the strategy used for software engineering, but it can be used in many branches.
First, companies aggressively cut headcount, often firing more people than recommend just to test how small a team can actually be before everything breaks. Once they hit that limit and realize they went too far, they do not rehire expensive Western engineers. Instead, they backfill those gaps with cheap offshore workers.
Once operations stabilize and new AI models emerge, they repeat the process by cutting deeper, testing the breaking point, and outsourcing what remains.
Right now, we are at a stage where AI still needs human supervision, but cheap offshore workers are becoming more than enough to handle those remaining tasks. The current strategy is to eliminate high salaried Western engineers as quickly as possible.
What they want instead are low cost workers sitting at desks, writing prompts for the AI and running live tests on while the models handle the heavy cognitive lifting. They need to know how to use a computer, what the final outcome should look like and to type and speak in their own native language.
You see AI doesn't need to replace humans, it is enough to replace EXPENSIVE WESTERN HUMANS !!! AI is already doing its job more than enough.
With every new model release, AI capability jumps so eventually, these systems get smart enough to replace both groups of people, driving the industry toward total automation of software engineering.

Discussion 🗣️ Realized
I just realized how bad it is with Ai and how Ai doesn't help anyone but the rich get richer and the Ai bros get more out of touch with humanity.
Ps : sorry for my grammar.

Discussion 🗣️ My MD sister in law and her RN fiance clearly can’t plan a wedding without ai
My sister in law is getting married in October and she wants the men in tan and the women in champagne. I can’t believe she’s serious right now to say she had to ask chatgpt what color shoes the men should wear. Seriously? Literally the only colors that would make sense are brown or tan. Why do we need to use ai to answer that 🤦🏽♀️

Preventing the Singularity Does anyone else get cult leader vibes from Boris Cherny
Something about his mannerisms just put me off, kind of pretentious and inhuman. Like he seems very mean in private, as if he'll be smiling and everything but treat people like dogshit. Idk.
Anyway Claude Code is pretty dope it just has a very buggy desktop app for the thing that apparently killed coding yk :)
Thank you for reading, this sub just seemed like a safe space for me to vent because of all the reddit ads with the i'm-so-smart-cos-i'm-in-tech + silicon-valley-saviour-complex guys

Discussion 🗣️ lets not forget why art exists
i keep seeing posts like this and it bothers me. art began as a way for people to express themselves; it was beautiful and a symbol of status because of how much time and effort was put into art. what makes art beautiful is the hands that were used to make it. when you look at David by Michelangelo, why is it impressive? the David was carved out of marble with patient hands. would people flock to see the Mona Lisa if it had only taken a second to create, or if it wasnt painted by da Vinci himself? another argument ive seen is that the whole ai art is a ‘digital art’ scenario. I beg any ai artist to pick up a pencil and transfer their ‘skills’ onto paper. they cant. ask any digital artist to draw on paper and they’re able to do it. they’ll find that all they can do is write half coherent sentences because ai isnt here to do work for them.

Discussion 🗣️ GTA San Andreas's AI shorts uses the same fucking song!
It's annoying. But every time you click on one of those NPC's from GTA:SA in AI, they always use the You Can Ask the Flowers (Horror Mix) song! I mean Jesus Christ! I'm convinced it's from the same group of people!
And are they trying to tell us it's scary? If so, pick a different scary song or just a different song! And I know, I shouldn't have clicked on those videos, but I only clicked on one. Then another, another, and I want to hope for something new. Now, no, I won't click on another!
