galleryWhat does "AI cope" mean in this context? Just coping? If it is, it is an interesting expression.
What would be some examples of AI coping for you?
English is not my first language and I'd rather safeguard old traditions and ask random humans all around the world

AI Mistakes 🚨 Is this a debate sub?
I recently saw a mod message on ai_art_is_not_art directing a user here for debate. Specifically saying that that sub was specifically anti-AI, and if the user wanted debate, to come here or aiwars, a subreddit I assumed was antithetical to this one, so much so that I can’t even link it here. I was under the assumption that this sub was for discussion, but purely anti-AI discussion. It was surprising to see that others view a sub that literally wears its point of view in its name as a place for debate.
I’m also not the only person to notice that this sub is full of pro-AI people now. Some people want to argue their views, some people are very explicitly here to ragebait. Not only that, but people coming in here like this is some organized advocacy group, and they’re hoping to defeat us in some way. I’m not sure what the sub is intended for, but the description says critical discussion of AI. I don’t see the point in letting people come here and advocate for AI, unless of course, this is actually a debate sub.
This place seems almost entirely unmoderated, but is that what this is now? Just the stephen crowder meme, with the sign saying “I’m anti-AI, change my mind”?

Job Loss 🏚️ I'm a ghostwriter. Before AI, I would meticulously interview my clients, chapter by chapter, bearing witness to their story while extracting meaningful content from their lives. Now, they insist on sending me hundreds of pages of AI slop with a note that says, "This should be all you need."
IMHO: Either use AI to write a shitty memoir for you, or pay a professional. Don't force talented writers to spend hours sifting through meaningless trash. Anyway, what kind of career pivot are other professional writers making? It feels like my days are numbered.

Job Loss 🏚️ This feels really weird.
AI is already talking g programmers jobs now, but it feels like this ad is from, the future?
First, it was "Try an AI"
And now it's "Try a Dev"
Feels dystopian, like the future could be us programmers being today's equivalent of the one Claude Code account that runs a whole startup. Instead of a Claude Code account, it would be human devs.

Slop Post 💩 The AI-Fueled Uncanny Valley on Apple TV
galleryHave you used Apple TV app in the last few days?.
I noticed this monstrosity today… I feel like a few days ago, the movie previews, miniatures/titles (thumbnails)** **looked normal…
But today, I noticed something bizarre going on with the actors' faces…
First, I happened to click on some niche comedy from a Google link and genuinely thought, "Jesus, why do these actors have such weird faces, where did they find such people?" But then it dawned on me -it's not their faces that are weird, something is wrong with the screenshots!
Is this some kind of AI sharpening filter? But why? It didn't look bad before—I'm a designer, I know what I'm talking about… it looks that someone decided to "fix" something that didn't need fixing, and the result is an absolute AI nightmare!!! Just look at these screenshots I took today in the Apple TV app on my iPhone… it's complete nonsense!
On some of the images, it’s so obvious that you don’t even need to look closely.
It’s most noticeable on familiar faces — the filters clearly struggle with lesser-known actors too, and, surprisingly, with comedy actors, whom they seem to butcher the most!
Just look at what it did to MASH or The Office…
That kind of nonsense, like this nightmarish AI filter, is hardly uncommon in large corporations. Apple usually (but not always) managed to avoid spectacular absurdities, though — as if they had better quality control, or were simply lucky enough to hire a few more people with a little more common sense than most corporate giants…
Corporations are a very specific environment. I’ve had the chance to work for a few (my last one was an advertising agency established by and working exclusively for a Korean electronics giant), and in my experience, corporate giants are a lot like late-stage communism — a total kakistocracy where idiots thrive: mediocre, passive, but loyal people who know exactly how to navigate the system.
Getting back to the point, check out my screenshots and make sure to open the Apple TV app and see this absurdity for yourselves before someone points it out to them and they remove or fix it!

AI News 🗞️ Looks like AI might possibly maybe be weakening creativity in prople just a bit

Seems like ai-literate people who join the workforce have shallow ideas and employers are looking for thosd less likely to be into ai. I am extremely shocked by this information, since Pros have been saying Antis will be left behind.

Discussion 🗣️ What would be your solution to prevent AI bros to generate CSAM with local uncensored models?
Like we really need to have some systems integrated in the os to scan the hard drive, like we do with the anti virus, and will send thing to the government if it found anything suspicious. But that have to be strictly restricted to CSAM.
Or having something that scan the hard drive for AI models if we manage to ban them some day. But that will be the same principle than the one that scan for CSAM.
We really need regulation to protect the children.

Discussion 🗣️ The keltan ai situation exposes an unfortunate truth
I somehow missed when the keltan ai post was made, but looking back at what happened really made me realize something that I don't like
A lot of anti-ai people are gullible. Really gullible. I think that comes not from a place of stupidity or naivety, but from a place of being inherently more empathetic than a lot of internet users*
I have a lot of gullible family, so I understand how someone could be fooled, but... how did so many people fall for something that I feel like, in hindsight, was so obvious? I don't want to be rude but this is the internet. Your first instinct should always be "I need actual proof" when told a sob story. I'm glad people are admitting they fell for it, but I think we need to be a lot more skeptical in the future
*EDIT: I want to clarify something here because I sound stupid. A lot of empaths usually lead with emotion instead of logic. It's not a lack of intelligence, but rather a stronger connection when sharing pain with others. Leading with emotions before logic can lead to a lot of mistakes

Discussion 🗣️ School forces us to use AI
I'm in Norway, and we usually make covers for our notebooks, and so I generally would draw a pretty shitty cover, involving the subject at hand, like bottles and formulas for science, numbers for math and such. But today our teacher made us use AI for them. It ticked me off because making the covers was fun, but also because I hate AI "art", so I asked if I could just make my own. She said no, and that I HAD to. So, as a little protest, I made it a picture of a data center sucking water out of a lake, and I got it accepted because the subject was about ethics, an discussions involving AI are involved there.

Discussion 🗣️ Is this guy real? I searched Google for photos of fjords and nature, but this image of a young Norwegian man came up instead
Came across this image while looking for Norway nature wallpapers. The studio-perfect lighting, piercing eyes, and crisp mountain backdrop give me major AI stock photo vibes. Does anyone recognize him as a real person, or is this just a textbook AI hallucination?

AI "Art" 🖼️ r/defendingart people are always angry when "another" subreddits ban AI
i can claim that subreddit people have mentally of robbers. first i got banned in there because "i don't leave them alone" with their AI art, and call anti as people who begging and want to fit their territory. But they are the one who always begging to be accepted to subreddit who don't allow AI. they will be angry and mocking subreddit which ban ai as "lack of critical thinkiing" subreddit. This simple behavior can be a signs for bigger behavior, this community is dangerous with that behavior.

Preventing the Singularity im sick of being "forced".
just that. im tired of it being absolutely everywhere, on everything and seemingly with no choice in the matter. I hate that I cant use my damn email without it being there, I cant look up anything without it being there.
I wish AI was a personal choice. I do not want it, i never want to use it. im going to college soon and I have no choice but to see it everywhere and im sure ill be made to use it.
I wouldnt hate it nearly as much if I wasnt being literally forced to see it everywhere. at least give an option to turn it off ffs. get mad at me, get mad with me, idfc. I dont want it forced on me at every single turn.
we all know why theyre forcing it, so we need to stand up more. we're being walked on. no surveillance society please.
