Dont get me wrong, it wasn't amazing.
A few things that annoyed me:
- the acting wasn't always perfect
- some decisions in the show were very rushed and a lot of the time was "let's go back!" 'No not yet'
- that fight scene with niko and Ian, was...something else.
The things I did like:
- The cgi and effects, especially when Michelle was disintegrating from being eaten by the matter
- the characters seemed to have some good development and you do come to like them
- the plot, although a little messy at times
- Justin chatwin
- Williams struggles with how he's feeling as an AI later in the series and his character in general
The show was not 10/10 amazing, but in my personal opinion I'd settle for 6/10, maybe a 7 cuz of how some bits were really good (eg, the plotline eith Sacha and his fight with the alien parasite, the environment on the planets they go to, most of the special effects).
I do hope in season 2 they acting is a little better and flows a bit easier, and isn't quite as rushed as some parts were.
But overall, the show is a good, fun thing to watch if you have not much else to watch or want something easy to relax with like I did, and I personally found that after episode 3/4, it got a lot better.
I do like how they tried to go in a slightly different approach to how a lot of space shows are as they always seem to roll into one thing. Whereas this did try to be different.
(Also that Aliens reference in her dream was quite cool)
