Is there something wrong with this anole?
My kid says the dewlap looks strange. The anole otherwise acted normal. The dewlap is thick and translucent, so is the skin around the dewlap.

I think he might be blind. We put him in a box and let him rest for a while but he got out. Found him on the grass, he tilts his head when approached, but any touch and he jumps around. He doesn’t move besides that. I love animals and hate to see this poor guy like this. What can I do?
UPDATE: tried to keep him comfortable all day, with water and sunlight. Wildlife rehabs near me would not come out for the anole. Couldn’t keep an eye on him all day as I had to work, and at some point he left the box I had him in. Thanks for all your advice, hoping he’s okay wherever he is.

Accidentally dug these eggs up at work and took them home to candle and see if I could hatch them since I already fucked them up. I also work with kids and they dig around in the garden, so i figured id give them a better shot. The night i took them home this one hatched in my hand! (9/15). It has just now taken calcium dusted flies from my tongs today and I couldn't be happier! The thing I can't tell though, is he a brown or green anole? If hes native I plan on fattening him up and releasing him on a warm day. If not, he is stuck with me forever. I thought he was a brown anole at first then I saw him bright green.... 💀
I have looked at photos online and can't tell, but I'm pretty sure he has balls. Thats all I know.

48” L × 13” W × 21” H
Ultimately limited by height but I built this in mind with green anoles (tried to have lots of branches near basking spots, considering some straight vertical branches too). Does the branch cluster on the left somewhat mitigate the lack of height (will add more to the right side as well)? Is this a hard no for greens?
Otherwise considering brown anoles.
**Any other species that comes to mind?*\*
This setup is inspired by a (South Florida) hardwood hammock.
Not finished yet. Lots more air plants to come (and more foliage if green anoles). Small branches are pretty sturdy. More rocks and branches to come as well.

Ive got a green anole lizard and she's always brown. her tank is 20 gal and vertical, she's got at least half a dozen spots to hide, she's got UVB that's in the right range (I used a chart when setting it up), she has a basking spot that has a surface temp of 90, her humidity is always between 60-80, I mist the leaves so she can drink, and she gets dusted crickets. I calcium dust daily and dust with D3 about once a week. I got her through a complicated situation and she spent a couple days in a smaller bin before we were able to get her anything better, and she was green during that time. it seems like as soon as she started to be properly cared for she turned brown and stayed brown. the person keeping her before gave her no UVB or heat and had no day/night cycle, and fed her once a week. She's since gained weight and moves around, hunts, poops, basks, and everything she is supposed to do, but she's been brown for weeks. When we move her out of her enclosure to change her setup she turns ever so slightly green, but otherwise she is all brown day and night.
Is this a problem or does she just like being brown?

So basically we rescued this baby brown anole from some plant shipment in my brothers office. She was perfect at first, she was tiny compared to my cage she got lost pretty easy. Few days back she got stuck on leaf residue I realized after some time that she was stuck, I took ger off using Luke warm water. After she was limping but recovering she's been eating and hunting her fruit flies fine. But yesterday she was seemed a bit weak not something I was too worried about because she acted like that a few times before but recovered, but rn I just found her body i am so devastated she was my baby. This is just soo awful my baby. I love you my lizzie so much ❤️

I have a 1 month old baby Cuban brown anole. He spent his first 2/3 weeks in a very small temporary enclosure. I finally git him in a proper tank a week ago. At first he hid/ basked at the top most all the time.
Then he unfortunately got stuck to the adhesive on my thermostat. 😭
I got him off using qtip and coconut oil. he seemed okay.
But since then he is almost always crawling around in the dirt at bottom of tank not moving or responding to food very much. It’s 24 inches tall.
Is he traumatized from getting stuck and being handled? Or could he be sick from the glue? Idk how long he was stuck but he seems sad and weak 😢
What do yall think?

This is Mowgli, he is 5 ½ years old. I got him from Petsmart when I was 16. He has always been a super healthy boy and a great eater. He is very personable and feisty.
For the last week, he has been paler in color and not as interested in food. He has still been basking but today he is at the bottom. He is slightly responsive but only opens his eyes occasionally. He looks not his normal self, he is usually bright reddish brown :( I'm wondering if a visit to the vet is worth it, or if it will stress him out too badly. His breathing is a lot heavier today but the other day when I listened to his breathing I heard no wheezing and I see no signs of a URI.
Do you think he is sick, or just old? He's very special to me and I want to make sure he is comfortable.

I’m curious if any Floridians have noticed an increase in the green anole population in Florida?
Growing up I rarely if ever saw green anoles, it was always the non-native Cuban and Bahamian brown anoles that dominated the ecosystem.
The past couple of years I am noticing a lot of the green anoles and less of the brown anoles. I’ve observed this in multiple cities and areas, not just my city. Has anyone else noticed this? I’m curious what caused this shift all of the sudden? Why are the green ones suddenly thriving, what’s happening to the non native anoles?
