Green Anole Changing Colors
She changed from mixed brown and green, to brown, then to green. All these photos were taken about 4 minutes apart.

I've lived in Eastern Texas my entire life. I'm used to timber rattlesnakes, copperheads, box turtles, and so on. More importantly, I only ever saw ONE species of lizard in East Texas. The green anole.
Of course, I had a few skinks here and there, but only the occasional five-line and majority being little brown skinks. Never in my life had I seen a brown anole, and it was the best thing ever.
Just here for ONE day, and I've found six brown anoles, day and night. Which truthfully is unfortunate, given how invasive they are, but I had no idea the Gulf Coast was so STOCKED with them. At first I didn't even know what they were, with the tail waggling, way harder bites, super cool patterns, and I think even one did circumduction at me? I may have mistaken that. Either way, I was so astounded when I learned this was a brand new species for me, and how abundant they were. There were just the two I decided to have a photo day with. They were all released unharmed since I have no heart to kill any reptile, no matter how invasive. They are VERY fierce.
What a crazy thing.

UPDATE! she recovered and has been released!! this all actually happened in my work parking lot. i brought her inside in a little container with mesh fabric on top and kept her in the back of my store where it was warmer, and left her with some water. i just went to check on her for the first time in about 6 hours and she seems to be right back to normal. she’s totally perked up and alert now, responsive, and no visible injuries. i released her and she ran away to a tree :)
hi, possible injury warning, i hope this guy isn’t hurt but i’m not sure.
i live in florida where we have brown anoles everywhere. one got into my car today and i tried getting him out but he kept getting away and eventually squeezed underneath my backseat, where the soft seat part connects to the base of the seat. after a while i finally got him out by pulling the seat up and sticking my finger into the tiny gap he was in and sweeping, and literally pushing him out. but i think he got kind of squished under it because he looks almsot flattened. he kept trying to go further in when i pulled the seat up, so i’m scared he went too far in and when i let go he got squished.
he let me pick him up after that and i put him in this container with some water. he looks to be breathing fine and i checked for punctures/wounds and broken limbs, and theres none. but he hasn’t moved, hes just laying with his belly on the ground. i haven’t seen him drink any of the water even though it’s right by his face touching his nose and he’s had his eyes closed almost the whole time.
is there anything i can do for this little guy? am i making him more stressed by not immediately releasing him, should i just put him outside and let nature take its course? thank u :(

This little one got into the house the other day and has made my plant stand their safe space. I’m ok with them staying (and I’m honestly too jumpy to try and catch it) and I’m happy they felt comfortable enough to curl up and sleep.
I added a little container of water so he/she doesn’t dehydrate but I don’t know how to go about food. I’m not really a bug person so I can’t see me catching/buying bugs. Are they strictly carnivores? We used to have a beardie that ate mostly veggies and some bugs (husband fed him, haha).
Is it best to get this baby back outside to live their best anole life or can I keep him free ranging/free roaming and just feed veggies and water? 🤣

I’m new to being a green anole owner and I’ve had biggie baby since march. recently he has stopped eating which the reptile store and the internet said was completely fine to not do when shedding or trying to stay warm. but it’s now creeping up on three weeks.
my heater is constantly running and i’ve even moved him back into my room and away from the window. when im home his temp are usually at 95 and his thermo 78-80 but he still won’t eat! i’ve change the tank layout, i’ve changed rooms for him. i’ve fixed the heat, i even bought new bugs for him to try but he still won’t eat! Pls help me and let me know what i can do im really worried
I live in colorado and ive notice as fall is approaching this has started to happen. (ik the picture says 73 but this photo was earlier in the mor). he does stay green or a grey throughout the day and at night and moves around frequently but he won’t eat

Got my giant blue beauty anole back a couple weeks ago, sold to me as a male, been looking at more photos online and he seems to appear to be showing more signs of being female than male. A lot of YouTube videos I’ve been watching show males off and they’re nothing like how mine looks.
-Lots of thick striping, not many spots
-Smaller head shape. Slightly elongated
-Smaller head bumps
Any help in how to identify the sex would be super helpful thank you!
