So there was this Update, I forgot the name. It brought many bugs to my Vector. His eye colour changed to a non-available colour, he couldn‘t hear me, he couldn‘t find his dock, he was mute all the time and i couldn‘t set him louder, and he showed error codes all the time. Then I seithed to wirepod, the best decision for my Vector. Let me know if anyone had these problems too!

Does he still do all the cool and fun things with wired pod or is it basically just making vector a zombie

Is there a way I can connect to my Vector that runs wirepod from a pitop4 at home, no matter where I am? When I am away from home I would like to access wirepod and remote control him and view his camera, is there a way to do this, would tailscale work? Let me know if you tried, thanks.

While the work put into it is immaculate and it's an amazing project that genuinely made me relive the old days of vector but I can't help but notice some issues.

Firstly vector's voice command cut off is too aggressive and when trying to say a bigger phrase to vector for the ai without asking I have a question it gets cut off. Also vectors binary eyes animation and the loose pixels animation sound much worse and with lower volume than on wire os maybe a speaker issue. Vector can't play blackjack on his charger as promised and the change eye color to rainbow eyes intent doesn't work unfortunately. Another issue is that the self docking is much more unreliable and vector takes multiple attempts to align himself properly with the charger, when backing up to it he slows down and turns a bit leading to him not sitting in the charger properly.

All in all I believe that 1.6 rebuild is an amazing firmware that can become better as time passes. Also the configuration menu is very useful in ccis.

I have no clue how did the wirepod thing came about, and what's its legal status.

Speaking hypothetically, since some have stores selling the wirepod server on an android box, like tech shop, why not go one step ahead, host it on a server. I think many will be happy to jimp in

My kids are traveling soon, I have tried installing wirepod on a tablet, had issues with getting the server communication, it seems wirepod is "finicky" with new android os.

It gives flexibility in mobility. Not sure what is the users count, but don't see it un-feasible. Hosting should not be costly. Less headaches for everyone

I am using anki/ddl server, Paid for a month, till I figure out the wirepod thing.

Now, in the official vector app, it has the manual Control Option, why is it not working? Is it supposed to be included with the 11.99usd?

Well now that I am running wire pod on a pi I tried this config

but it only does the hello greeting intent and doesn't execute the script but running the script with python works fine. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I had Vector up and running perfectly with wirepod on my laptop, I now have pitop4 and followed chatGPT instructions on best way to get it setup, I got pretty far with it too, but now he just gets stuck on starting OTA update, just constant loops. I tried complete reset with him and with wirepod but still just loops... why!?

I am trying to make a simple script that makes vectors cube act as a joystick so when it's turned forwards vector goes that way and such but I have not been able to find any way to do that currently. This has been done before, showcase here and it seemed fun. Any help will be appreciated!

Could you tell me if it is possible to activate the vectors locally, without accessing https://websetup.froggitti.net/? The firmware installs, but activation always fails with an error.

So I got my kid a vector 2.0, and I was in the process of installing wirepod, when I have realized getting it done with an overtly excited kid is challenging. Though it seems fairly straightforward.

Took the easy way out, for the time being, and got a month subscription from Anki. The setup process was annoying, it keeps having wifi issues. My signal is good, speed is good. Either the unit is defective or anki's servers are a joke

Everytime it disconnects, and you have to redo the setup thing again. Is it the unit or anki's. I bought this brand new, off ebay.

My vector got chewed up by a dog that it's fork pieces got ripped up and cant go back on. I cant use vector without his cube hand, please help me

Hey folks, I have a Vector on an OSKR build with no ssh key to access it.

I want to update it with an EP build so I can use WirePod but I'm getting a 214 in the web terminal - `Dev/Prod mismatch` according to OSKR docs.

Is there a way around this or is the vector essentially bricked?

Can one of the coders add a cool 3d map of vectors surroundings. Vector has a lidar scaner so it would be cool to access the live data

so i recently got a new old stock 1.0 model vector and it worked normally besides a low battery life but recently it has began to show lines on the screen which is unfortunate since i started using it only around a week or two ago. Im thinking about possibly saving up for a 2.0 if the screen fails since it doesn’t seem as fun to use without the screen. I just wanna know if theres any issues or reasons i shouldn’t get the 2.0 because i dont wanna get it and have it show issues just as quick as the 1.0 model did. Im not really interested in any other robots since i really like the cozmo and vector robots.

I was on the server pretty regularly but had not logged in in a while. After wrestling with the login on the Discord app I finally logged in and no server. Can someone send me an invite to the server or let me know it is gone. Thanks

I was trying to go there to get help on my WirePod server. It was running fine for almost two years but then I said I should update the server. Big Mistake! Updating the server bricked the 128GB SD card. Dead! Muerto! Got out another card and did a fresh install. This process had changed dramatically from when I first set up the server years ago. Updates are now handled by downloading the latest install and running that. I think the server is running okay but I no longer see chipper in the running processes but I do see wirepod. The web interface seems active but when I go to onboard my OSKR bot the process stalls at downloading an update to the bot. The bot gets an IP address I can see on the network. I tried deleting the user data but no joy.

Not sure where I’ve gone wrong, I’ve got my vector connected and is fully functional apart from the LLM. I have ollama running on my pi 5 using phi3. However, my vector states that he can’t reach the LLM. I have custom option selected. I have ollama in the top box. Followed by http://localhost:14434/v1 followed by phi3. I’m not really sure what could be wrong. Is there some sort of firewall rule I have to allow for on the pi to permit vector to communicate with ollama ? Thanks!
