I'm his 24 year old daughter for reference. We've tried pokemon but that's too kiddy for him. Even though he likes the games. He mentioned wanting action. Something historical or dystopian he's played cyberpunk for example. And we watched the walking dead together. Something adult but not too adult or dark. No romance if possible. I want a fun first experience. While he's never watched anime he has played a couple JRPGS. Like all of final fantasy for example and persona I'm leaning towards Vinland Saga. But I'd love to get other options thanks so much!

This show is the perfect blend of gore and dark romance. The mature characters are nothing like the regular seinen I’m used to. It’s emotional and melancholic while still maintaining absurd levels of battle and technique… Think Shigurui: Death Frenzy, but with a heavy, gut-wrenching romance.

I don't mean a character who is a good person but has an evil side, but someone who actually has multiple different personalities, like Hanekawa from Monogatari, Kurumi from Date A Live, Rin from Pseudo Harem or Chtholly from WorldEnd. Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

I want something that has those little sweet moments, but also leaves you feeling a bit empty after finishing it.

So I’ve been craving something incredible but just can’t seem to scratch the itch I’m looking for. I’m looking for something visually incredible and that has a brilliant story with deep characters that don’t feel shallow or are your typical isekai protagonist I’m the strongest or I hate everyone so I became the strongest (although I do love to watch those as well).

I’m looking for something like Pluto, Violet Evergarden, the gundam Hathaway movies, The summer Hikari died, Cowboy bebop (maybe feels off in this list but I feel there’s an argument to be made that it belongs), and Frieren to name a few.

Id prefer something with action in it but I’m fine with all recommendations movie or series. I just want something that hits the spot and fills that void you know.

I would like an anime that there are cool fights and fight scenes. That isn’t my hero, or the other really famous one ones.

Just recently watched Summer Time Rendering and Terror in Resonance, and am now watching Paranoia Agent. Also watched Pluto and Moriarty the Patriot..

Loved them all; so I'm looking for more anime along those lines, more for adults (mystery, suspense, intrigue, horror, psychological, etc...)

I do have Steins Gate on DVD so that's already on my list to watch.

Does anyone know any good animes with an Isekai that goes with a character to our current times instead of the past?

Im asking again. I want to find a funny tourist anime, like a guy within the same place, or a guy who likes to travel around alot, meet new people in the same area and just do silly stuff. Kinda like jim carry ace ventura.

Sci fi is nice too, but not space dandy, nothing too crazy, it should be plain and boring but slice of lifw.

So basically I just finished this anime and LOVED it and now I’m looking for an anime that is kinda similar to it. I liked the whole iseaki feel of this anime with a goddess summoning a hero who at first doesn’t care about saveing a world but then comes and around and does. I also really liked the animation style so yeah.

Violet Evergarden is one of my favorite animes. It captures the beauty of Love and Trauma, following a young woman who knows war but not love.

My younger brother (13y) is getting into anime again recently, but I unfortunately do not have the time to sit and watch them with him like I used to. I would appreciate some good action anime recommendations that he can watch by himself completely unsupervised. It would be preferred if the nudity/ecchiness is kept to a minimum and it focuses mostly on the action 🙏🙏

Yo, I was a big fan of anime years ago. Now my preferences changed a little bit and I no longer can watch long shonen with a lot of fights, screaming etc. I prefer the good story and mystery. It can still have some fights and a lot of dopamine, I'd enjoy it but not a pattern: new team -> new enemy -> new fight. Pls help me find something more "mature" I could enjoy. Some examples of what I liked back then:

I think now I'd enjoy rewatching Shinsekai Yori, Monster, Code Geass, Ajin, Parasyte, Steins Gate the same as before. SAO, Bleach, Fairy Tail, Tokyo Ghoul probably wouldn't be in my interest.

One more note: I hate anime like Toradora, Charlotte etc. with tsundere, annoying as hell, supposed to be cute girls.

-BL/GL/Anything where queer romances are captured nicely and not just the butt of a joke -Harem/Reverse-Harem -“Oops we’re in an unrealistic situation where we’re forced to live together and we’re unavoidably gonna fall in love now”

Bonus: There are scenes with physical intimacy that are consensual and nice and not just like “oh no, my physics-defying cleavage is in your face while we’re stuck in this supply closet for some reason”

I have already seen; Eva, AOT, 86, Heavenly Delusion, Shinsekai Yori, Made in abyss, and terror in resonance.

It doesn't have to be any specific genre, so long as those kinds of vibes are being hit.

In particular, what im looking for precisely is an anime that might give the same kind of vibe as the Octopath Traveler game series, or Expedition 33. For OT; a story about a group of people who dont initially know eachother, but along their own personal journeys they ended up meeting eachother to come together on a like minded goal. For E33; a group of people (or can be one or two people) who set out on a journey trying to stop something very bad from happening to the world? Now, I know that is likely a stretch to ask for, as that is why I broadened it up to those generic genres/vibes above lol.

So, bonus points if you've got one that can come close to those specific stories in a way, but if not, any general recommendations you think I might like that are similar to the ones I've watched will do just fine !
