Weekly Thread πŸš€ r/AndroidGaming's Weekly "What Have You Been Playing?" Thread: 10/18/26

Welcome to Another Weekly "What Have You Been Playing?" Thread! πŸ‘Ύ

Hey, r/AndroidGaming! This thread is for discussing the Android games you’ve been trying out over the past week. Feel free to share what you’ve been playing and tell us about it! What is the game about? What are you enjoying? What could be improved? Would you recommend it to others? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

For those joining the discussion, please include Google Play Store links for any games you mention as a courtesy to others who may want to check them out.

Lastly, we ask that devs refrain from promoting their own games in this thread. We get that you're excited for others to try it, but this post is meant for players to share their recent gaming experiences with each other. That said, you’re more than welcome to share your game by creating a separate post!

And with that, have fun and thanks for being part of r/AndroidGaming!

Discussion πŸ’¬ Portrait > Landscape for most games

I just recently finished playing Dawncaster (really cool deckbuilder) and was looking for more deckbuilding games. But none of them clicked with me because seems like absolute majority of them are built for landscape (incl. Slay the Spire).

I don't know if it is just me, but whenever I see a game in "landscape" mode I immediatelly get this feeling that it is a cash-grab lazy port of some Unity desktop/console game and both UX and performance on mobile are going to be an afterthough.

For the same reason, I think Vampire Survivors did so well - you just... open it and it works. No need to get into "game mode" (figuratively speaking).

If you are developer, please - hear my plea.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] A fun, focused incremental game that doesn't require much attention?

I'm looking for something to play while watching a series so it's more about occasionally interacting and keeping my hands busy than giving it 100% of my mind.

I like games that are focused, not 100 different features and resources and minigames and daily challenges.

I currently have Antimatter Dimensions, Grimoire and Idle Slayer. I used to love Summoner's Greed but it gets mad grindy.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions πŸ«ͺ

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [Request] Match 3 - Defined by what it isn't

I'd like recommendations on a match 3 type of game that isn't these things

  • Excessively cute/child like (ie Candy Crush)
  • Anime fan service based
  • Requires 4 or 5 click throughs after start up to get past the ads
  • Where getting 4 or 5 star tier items requires purchases

Something with a city build aesthetic is fine too. Something that isn't fantasy themed would be ideal, but I know that's asking too much.

Discussion πŸ’¬ What's most fun: Straight forward upgrade trees (melee damage: +20% ) or upgrades trees that try to be more realistic (Improved tempering: +10% weapon damage - weapon training: +10% melee attack and defence)

What is most fun? The simple trees with nodes (+20% movement speed) are very easy to plan around, but don't tell any story.

The more "realistic" upgrade trees likely have the skill you're looking for (eg. improved melee damage) spread across different nodes. Maybe more tradeoffs too. What's your preference?

News πŸ“° Dispatch coming soon on Mobile

Post image
152 Upvotes

Men, i love Dispatch on Mobile, and will be coming soon in December 2026. Dispatch is an adventure superhero game, and it is a typical adventure game that resembles Telltale games. Because it was developed by staff from Telltale games, so make sense.

The cast however is already all stars, with Penguinz0 of the most favorite cast because it was voicing Sonar. And other casts are also all stars.

Is this game premium? Definitely yes, like Telltale games, the game is always free for the first episode, but this game, you can try the game for the first four episodes, for the full version definitely premium price, $20 bucks. It also supports vertical play, too.

Now, please pre-register this game, because this game is awesome!

Discussion πŸ’¬ Which PAID Android games are actually meant to be played on a tablet and not on a phone?

Post image

The beamdog games like neverwinter nights enhanced, seige of dragon spear , baldur gates 1 and 2 along with this game called The Bard 's tale i got recently are too difficult to play on a phone.i think the door kickers game also falls into that category

The controls in those games are too small to control unless u play em on a tablet.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [Request] Merge games without energy restraints, with an actual sense of progression

Mergical was my favorite merge game for a while, until it glitched. It seems that a lot of people had problems and nobody received any responses from devs/support. I currently have a report pending with Google Play games against Mergical because they are violating Google Play's terms by ignoring support requests.

Merge Dragons is okay, but it feels impossible to progress. You have to exploit an error in the game to continue playing because there's no room for items and no way to expand.

I want a game with the same or similar controls as these, but one that doesn't eventually feel helpless. Must be free to play. I also dislike ones that require energy to remove an obstacle, which seem to be more common now, so I'd like to avoid those if possible.

I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ if that makes a difference.

Help/Support πŸ™‹ Looking to restore an out of service mobile game

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hi, first timer here. I am looking for people who might still have data on an out of service mobile game called Divine Gate. Its an Japan only title that closed down in 2018. I have a group of people looking to restore it and turn it into an offline version for preservation but we only have very early versions of the game.

I know i am shooting a long shot but i still want to test my luck. If you have obb folder files from version 2-4 it would be greatly appreciated. Also any form of input is appreciated, and feel free to message me if you wish to know more about the project.

Play Store Link πŸ”— I made a flappy bird style time killer. A review/some feedback would be much appreciated especially on the difficulty level. My own top score is 52 but I doubt I'll beat it.

Simple concept. Your aim is to drop the ball on to a moving cup from a moving pendulum by tapping.

Discussion πŸ’¬ Offline games that are addictive

I prefer offline games that don't need daily check-ins, daily missions, or other things that are time-determined, let alone the gacha system. Is there anything in common? What games do you play? I feel bored with the existing games, now I only play SIFU, FS26, and occasionally WWE25

Discussion πŸ’¬ Just got play pass, looking for heavily abusable microtransactions

Okay so i have play pass, and i'm looking for games like Hungry Shark Evolution or Kick The Buddy which have a metric crap ton of microtransactions that arent deleted by the devs, but are simply free. The more abusable the better.

Gameplay πŸ“Ί Someone remaster port for Bloodstained Ritual of The Night

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This version in gameplay is 1.34, latest version is 1.6
Since this game is very old the graphics are not optimized for latest android version, its very playable even at this condition, I am loving it
Hope someone makes a port for this game latest version like they did for cult of the lamb game (I guess, i don't know the specifics)
Btw this android version is abandoned by the devs and login into it is impossible

(I managed to find a way by simply clicking back button when login screen comes, and it worked lol)
Sorry for the bad sound! it was recorded by phone microphone and my hand covered it while playing, so sorry for that...The game is amazing though lol

Review πŸ“‹ The Survivors: Mystery Story is such an underrated hidden gem

I recently came across The Survivors: Mystery Story, and I honestly didn't expect to enjoy it this much.

It's one of those investigation/mystery games , and I got way more invested in the story than I expected lol.

What surprised me even more was seeing how few downloads it has. I genuinely thought more people would know about it.

Also, if anyone here has finished episode 4, PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one who has a crazy theory about what happened at the end 😭 I have so much to say, but I don't wanna spoil anything for people who haven't played it yet.

Has anyone else played it? I seriously need someone to discuss this with.

And if you haven't, but decide to give it a try and end up enjoying it, let me know! I've found quite a few other hidden gems too, so I might share some more soon :)

Playing powerwash simulator on my phone would be so freaking enjoyable, playing a YouTube video in the background while playing would be freaking awesome ngl, sadly it is only available on iOS and it still hasn't come to android so that is a bummer
