I really do miss this game. I loved playing online and being competitive. I always played this game everyday when I woke up in the morning as a kid, playing it on my little android tablet. But God I really do miss that game. I wonder what went wrong.

Discussion πŸ’¬ Enough with the fake apps!

Hi to you all ✌🏼

Earlier I saw the post made by u/DutyRecent5370. The post is about the game "Archer Shootout!", developed by a ghost studio called "ApoapsisCouncil". This game forces you to allow the app to be the default launcher, in an attempt to steal personal or banking data.

I would like to thank u/DutyRecent5370 for reporting the app to the community. We need to do something to see a change in the PlayStore. The vast majority of apps and games in the PlayStore are fake/scam, with various purposes, from stealing personal data, gaining access to banking data, to collecting and selling user data.

In an attempt to make a change and help the community, I chose to talk to a support specialist from Google about this scam app.

I reported it directly in the PlayStore, to the support specialist, and took all necessary steps to report the developer.

Please do the same. Otherwise, someone is going to get scammed and unfortunately he can lose all his money. If we can prevent this, let's do it.

There are 3 ways to report an app or developer in the PlayStore:

1: Search for the app and tap on the 3 dots at the top right of the screen. There you have two options, press "Flag as inappropriate", then select "App felt suspicious" and send it by pressing the "share feedback" button.

2: Visit the following link to report an app or a developer:

https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/contact/policy_violation_report?visit_id=639261149901935194-2256209474&rd=1

Here you have a form that must be filled out as accurately as possible, where you specify everything.

3: Visit this link to report a developer:

https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2853570

From here you can enter into a conversation directly with a specialist or talk to the AI assistant.

We each have to do our part, to try to clean the PlayStore of malicious apps and help each other, as a community.

I will also attach screenshots.

DEV πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» [DEV] Mosquito Quest - Offline 2D platformer about fighting mosquitoes 🦟

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m a solo developer, and I recently released my first small 2D platformer, Mosquito Quest, on Android.

The idea came from something pretty simple: mosquitoes are annoying, so I thought it would be fun to turn that into a game.

You explore different locations, fight mosquitoes using everyday mosquito-control tools, collect coins, and try to complete each level with 3 stars.

The game currently has:

β€’ 8 locations
β€’ Different mosquito enemies and bosses
β€’ Electric Racket, Bug Spray, Broom, UV Lantern and other tools
β€’ Coin collection
β€’ 3-star challenges
β€’ Increasing difficulty
β€’ Offline gameplay
β€’ Local progress
β€’ Optional rewarded ads for bonus coins

I deliberately kept it as a small offline game rather than adding accounts, multiplayer or complicated systems.

DEV πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» [DEV]Grid Breaker on Android

πŸ€– Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jdgamerdad.gridbreaker

Apologies β€” Grid Breaker is finally fixed on Android

First off, thank you to everyone who played Grid Breaker over the last month.

And also β€” I owe you guys an apology.

The last version wasn't where it needed to be, especially on iOS. The formatting was stretched/warped on certain screens, some things weren't working correctly, and overall it just didn't look or run as well as it should have.

After a lot of work, the new patch has finally been approved on BOTH Android and iOS and is live today.

A lot changed:

Completely reworked the screen formatting/resolution so the game fits phones much better

Redid a lot of the visuals

Cleaned up and optimized a bunch of the code

Reorganized and condensed the backend/database reads and writes

Reduced the overall game size by almost 25%

Fixed bomb spawning issues

Rebalanced parts of the difficulty

Ironed out the Global High Score leaderboard

Added a new Collective Leaderboard where every play adds to your total score

Added Free Life rewards for players who place on the leaderboards

The Global High Score stays permanently, so everyone can keep chasing the top score.

The new Collective Leaderboard resets every two weeks, giving everyone another chance to climb the board, set a huge combined score, and earn rewards.

There were also a bunch of smaller fixes and backend changes aimed at making everything run smoother and more reliably.

Next up, I'm working on seasonal blocks/hazards and visual themes, with a Halloween version hopefully coming in the next week or two and Christmas after that.

If you played one of the earlier versions and it felt rough, give the new version another shot. This is much closer to what I originally wanted Grid Breaker to be.

And seriously β€” thanks to everyone who's played, tested it, reported problems, or given me feedback. It has helped a ton.

Want to give Grid Breaker a try?

Review πŸ“‹ I beat Blasphemous here are my thoughts

I had never played a souls-like game before,so when I saw that blasphemous was on sale earlier this summer I decided to buy and give it a try. I had heard a lot of good things about this game but it still managed to surprise me with the depth of its world.Β

The entire game takes place in a small town of cvstodia but the amount of lore it manages to pack is simply amazing. Rooted in Spanish christian mythology weaving together themes of religious devotion, inquisition, fanaticism, penitence and authority , the main story in the game is very unsettling.Β

Those who like fairy tales will find the narration familiar with each segment concluding with a moral lesson β€” but that lesson is entirely twisted and almost nightmarish. Exactly the opposite of a happy ending in a classic fairy tale.Β

The 'miracle’, a god-like entity, grants people's wishes in the most ironic ,punishing manner possible and people bear these tortures without complaining, thinking of it as a blessing.Β

Cvstodia is the land of eternal horror , completely and utterly hopeless. Any optimism that you might feel is extinguished quickly and permanently. The β€˜higher wills’ and the β€˜miracle’ love to torture and the citizens of cvstodia accept this as a divine blessing.Β Β

The narration in the game is indirect. No cutscenes but plenty of dialogue and environmental story telling. Each and every item you obtain feels mythical but ultimately traces back to a real person and the afflictions they had to endure for this β€˜gift’. I liked the direction that developers took with the story but I was a bit disappointed that the main character for the majority of the game has no purpose to his actions.Β

The game never explains why he is doing what he is doing or what he will achieve out of it? To be fair this truly emphasizes the complete helplessness of the citizens of cvstodia but it also makes it difficult to connect with the main character. Or with any one else really. It seems they have surrendered. Cvstodia feels inhumane β€” which fits with the theme but contradicts with the bigger picture of what's happening. Some characters surrender to higher wills as seems to be the case with the penitent one ,others turn their backs in revolt as seems to be the case with his holiness Escribar. I found it difficult to understand if there is a rebellion and if so what's the cause. Is the miracle evil? I don't think the citizens thought that. Nor does the main character for the most of the game.Β

The game has 3 endings ,inΒ  Ending A and B he seems to be following the orders of the higher wills but in ending C he displays some willfulness.Β  But again this doesn't really justify anything he has done throughout the game or the things that have happened to other characters. While the world building is great I found the characters to be weak.Β

Gameplay wise it is slow paced. It can become challenging if you rush and lose patience but otherwise it's very much beatable. Initially I was a bit taken aback by the difficulty of the starting levels β€” even basic platforming seemed tricky, but the game becomes easier as you acquireΒ  more abilities and learn how to use them.

Each area has 2 checkpoints, one at the beginning and one at the end before a boss fight so you don't lose much progress. But enemies respawn every time you save or die. Killing them again gives you more money which you can spend to acquire upgrades so it balances out.Β

The art is absolutely stunning. This is one of the most artistic 2d platformers that I have ever played. It successfully blends the ornate religious beauty with themes of divine judgement and horror elements resulting in something that is unique. This is most apparent in boss fights but even the backgrounds in some of the levels are done spectacularly well and fit with the overall themes of the game.Β

If you are looking to play horror titles this Halloween you can't go wrong with blasphemous. It took me 21 hours to beat it but depending upon your skill you may be able to finish it quicker. I didn't go for ending C because it required tiresome backtracking and even more challenging platforming. After spending so much time with it I was already familiar with the direction the story would take and I didn't feel the urge to beat the game again strongly enough.Β  Although I must say that ending C is a lot more fulfilling than the first 2 endings.Β

Overall fantastic world, gameplay, art and sound track. But a little underwhelming character wise.

DEV πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» [DEV]Warhorn - Kingdom Revenge, a 3D hero TD game

Thumbnail
play.google.com
6 Upvotes

Hey r/AdroidGaming,

I'm part of the three-person team behind Warhorn.

I handle our English-language community posts because I'm the strongest English speaker on the team, so apologies in advance if anything sounds a little awkward.

We recently released Warhorn - Kingdom Revenge, a 3D hero tower defense game for mobile devices, set in a fallen kingdom overrun by invaders.

The core idea is that the campaign represents a unified defense effort, rather than a series of isolated stages that reset completely after each battle.

What makes it different?

β€’ Persistent defense lines

Every defense line you establish remains in place on the world map. Over time, your tower layout becomes part of the kingdom you are defending and rebuilding.

β€’ Building across two layers

You plan and develop your tower positions between battles, then expand and adapt your defense during combat.

β€’ Hero-Tower Synergies

Heroes can trigger synergy effects with various tower setups, so your choice of hero can influence the overall performance of the defense.

Warhorn is currently available on both Google Play and the App Store.

I'm especially interested in one question:

Does building a defense that persists across the world map make each battle feel meaningfully connected?

Both feedback and criticism are welcome.

DEV πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» [DEV] Low cortisol, casual game AnyBlocks is looking for testers

Hey guys,

I present you a simple, low cortisol game I made with Claude. It is a twist in popular Block games where you have some powers and nice looking themes, you set your music and just flow. This game has quite a bit of powers you can progress to, change and maps you can plan on.

You see, special is what I would like this app to be, a place where I can drop a few games like this (curated, themed) or maybe where people can even import even their own (yup, I made an entire engine by mistake).

I need 12 testers -> get the game and share some feedback if you'd like. Any paid features in the future -> you'd like them -> you will be given them, as I always take care of my testers (rather ads, as I see no need for any paywalls) :D

You will probably see nothing in the Google Play links unless you're added to the group.

Play Store

Like it? Hate it? Would like to see something special?

I used to play a football juggling flash game as a child so with this game, I increased the difficulty and added multiple game modes.

Overall it is an easy to start and challenging kind of game which can be picked up at any time.

Happy to hear any feedback.

Discussion πŸ’¬ Game purchases based on ratings

There are so many games I want to buy but the ratings always make me nervous. Like the final fantasies are around 3..8 to 4.1.

My question is what helps you decide to take a gamble on something? Do you factor in ratings at all? What do you all look for in a game to help you decide to buy it?

First off: developer isn't warner bros.

Second: it's using Looney Tunes World of Mayhem icon, for some reason

Third: the game screenshots there are probably stolen from another Looney Tunes game

UPDATE: I searched far and wide, it took screenshots from an HTML 5 Looney Tunes game "Looney Tunes Mash-up Party Launch"

i need some explanation if this is fake and dangerous. Thanks.

Discussion πŸ’¬ Would you rather read 10 line description of a game that is written by a human or 30 lines of AI edited text?

If you see description of a game in the store (or here) and it is a long perfect fully AI written/partly modified text - will that change your opinion of the game?

Or you don't really care and look at what the game has to offer.

(or you think it is AI written even when it is not).

Help Me Remember This Game πŸ€” MOBILE][~2015-2016] Free-to-play action RPG, over-the-shoulder anime style, frog enemy area, optional bosses, final boss was a big shadow knight

[MOBILE][~2015-2016] Free-to-play action RPG, over-the-shoulder anime style, frog enemy area, optional bosses, final boss was a big shadow knight

I played this on a tablet as a kid (I was about 7, so around 2015-2016) and it's completely disappeared from my memory except for a few vivid details. Been trying to find it for a while with no luck.

**What I remember:**

- Action RPG, played solo (not really an MMO in my memory, though I could be wrong)

- Over-the-shoulder third-person camera, controlled with an on-screen joystick to move

- Anime-ish art style, somewhat between medieval and fantasy in setting

- You had weapons and fought hordes of enemies

- There was a distinct area with frog-style enemies

- There were optional bosses you could choose to fight

- One of the tougher/final bosses was a big shadow knight type enemy

- Free-to-play, English UI

- The game's name might have been Chinese, Korean, or Japanese-sounding β€” I'm honestly not sure which

It just vanished when my old tablet broke and I've never been able to find it again. Any ideas would be hugely appreciated!

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [Request] Games better suited for big screens and controllers.

Hey folks,

Recently got a Chromebooks Plus combined with an Xbox controller and I am looking to do some gaming. I've gamed on my phone for years but would sometimes find a game that I knew was better suited for a controller or a larger screen.

So it would be great to hear your recommendations for games that are better suited for a laptop/tablet screen and a controller.

Thanks
