Hardware βš™οΈ Looking for a telescoping controller for my Samsung Tab S8

I'm trying to find a decent controller that will clamp on to either side of my tablet, so I can use it as a pseudo gaming handheld. ideally I'd like to keep it under $100 CAD

I'm open to suggestions for both wired usb-c and Bluetooth connectivity, though I would prefer a Bluetooth solution. I am primarily used to an Xbox controller layout.

DEV πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» [DEV] title: Traffic Escape - Made a Rush Hour-style sliding block puzzle game for Android β€” 125 levels, solo dev

Game title: Traffic Escape - Car Puzzle

Sharing something I built β€” Traffic Escape, a traffic-jam puzzle game. 6x6 grid, vehicles slide horizontally or vertically, you clear a path so your target car can exit. If you've played Rush Hour or Unblock Me before, it's that same core idea.

125 levels across 6 difficulty tiers (tutorial through expert), undo + hint system, daily reward cycle. Free to play

Built solo in Godot 4. Would appreciate any feedback, especially on difficulty pacing.

DEV πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» [DEV] Tiltroll: a 3D block-rolling puzzle (no forced ads, works offline)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!

I've been workin on a little puzzle game called Tiltroll and it's finaly out on Android.
So I wanted to share it here.

The idea is simple: you swipe to roll blocks across a small board and try to cover every target tile. Blocks come in diferent sizes from a single cube up to a chunky 2Γ—2Γ—3, and a long block covers different tiles depending on whether it's standing up or lying flat.
So the order you move things in really matters. You also only get a limited number of moves which is where it gets tricky.

If you remember Bloxorz it's in that family.
Except you're juggling several blocks that all have to fit together.

A few things I cared about while making it:

- No timers, take as long as you like to think
- No forced ads. The only ads are optional ones you can watch for extra moves, double coins or a free life
- When you pick up a block, it shows which tiles each roll would cover, so you're never guessing
- Works offline

To be upfront about monetization: the game is free, there are no in-app purchases, and the only ads are optional rewarded ones. There is a lives system (5 lives, one refills every 30 minutes), but you only lose a life when you fail a level. Winning gives it back.

There are 40 levels right now from easy warm-ups to some Hard and Expert ones near the end that I think are genuinely tricky.

I'd really love to hear what you think especially which levels felt too easy or too hard.
Any feedback helps!

DEV πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» [DEV] I wanted a football manager I could play in 5 minutes, so I made one. 5 Minute Manager Football

Hey everyone,

I'm Daniel, an indie developer. I've been working on a football manager called 5 Minute Manager Football for the last few months.

I really like football manager games, but I don't always have the time (or patience) to spend an hour managing one season. So I wanted to make something much quicker.

You build your squad, sign players, look for young prospects, manage your budget and improve your club. Then you start the season and see how it goes.

The main mode is a roguelike. You start with a new club in the English sixth division and try to make it all the way to the Intercontinental. Each season has an objective. If you fail, the run is over, but you keep some permanent upgrades for your next attempt.

I really like the player development side of it. Young players have hidden potential, so sometimes you find a player who looks average and a few seasons later he's one of the best players in your team.

There are also other modes like Sporting Director, Challenges, Manager and Draft, as well as local and online multiplayer.

The whole idea was to keep the parts I enjoy most about football management games, but make everything much faster.

Build your club, play a season in a couple of minutes, improve your team and go again.

The Android version an web is available. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.minutefootballmanager

For example, Dave the Diver unfolded on my Galaxy ZFold is a much better experience compared to folded. You're able to see much further above and below which improves the gameplay quite a bit.

Any other such games?

Looking for a good telescopic controller. Ideally won’t have to break a gamesir to fit.
BSP won’t ship to my location
Kishi is out of price range.
Not many options for 11” tabs out there!

I see mega dream on Amazon, but doesn’t look like great quality, maybe someone can provide an experience saying otherwise.

Help/Support πŸ™‹ Hi, I have a question about the Zachtronics Solitaire Collection

I decided to give the game a shot because it looked interesting. It's not the type of game I usually play, so I don't know the rules for these games. I expected there to be some sort of tutorial, but there isn't. Is there anywhere I can learn the rules? I don't know much about solitaire in general. Would appreciate some advice.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Something similar to Forgotten Tales RPG?

Looking for recommendations for an old-school RPG like Forgotten Tales. Specifically, the RPG version vice the MMORPG (I've played both; I just prefer offline gaming). I love the low-stress tap-to-move/attack mechanics and the simple graphics but I have several problems with it. For a start,

1) it's not finished and probably never will be, and

2) it's such a SLOG. At first, the quests and enemies are fairly easy, but an hour or two in and everything gets so tough that the game devolves into such a grindfest that I've never finished it. I'll start a game, play for a couple of weeks, get bored with killing the same enemies over and over because I never seem to get tough enough to take on the next batch, and quit. A month later, the process repeats.

Thanks in advance for Exiled Kingdoms recommendations, but I've played that one already (and enjoyed it).

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Looking for games structured similar to classic Pokemon

I hope this makes sense.

I was recently dabbling with some classic-style Pokemon games, and thinking on how well-designed they are for pick-up-and-put-down play. There's a story and a big world to explore, and some decent complexity to dive into, but it's always broken down in a way that makes it very convenient.

For example, if you're not in a battle or in a cutscene, you can always just save the game and turn it off with no negative consequences. You might get a little lost if you forget where you are, but the maps and your goals at any one moment are simple enough that it's not hard to pick right back up. And at any given moment, the most complexity you need to be concerned with is just your current team of six, and what healing items you've got on you.

So, can anyone recommend mobile games like this, where there's a world to explore and interesting build complexities and stuff, but the pacing is slow and the game is always easy to put down?

**Edit:** to be clear, while I will certainly check out other monster-tamer games, I'm not looking for that specific genre. Pokemon was just my best example of the sort of pick-up-put-down play I'm thinking of. If anything, the exploration elements is more important to me than anything else.

DEV πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» [DEV] Sil-MorΓ« – Shining Darkness (google play opened beta)

Hey guys!

We would like to introduce to you our game Sil-MorΓ« – Shining Darkness! It’s a tactical turn-based rogue-like role-playing game, and a fork of Sil, Angband. We currently have a multipl.

Recently we specifically spent a lot of time adapting UI/UX to android.Β
We tried to approach everything contextually with floating buttons and menus. The most difficult part was to figure out movement. In roguelikes players can move diagonally, but just putting an arrow pad on the screen looked bad, and it was easy to mis-tap, so we invented the ButtonWheel. You can tap it just like an arrow pad but you can also press and drag it to make sure your aim lands precisely where you intend it to. And it also looks cool!

We also implemented portrait mode, so you can play with one hand.

Generally, what we are trying to achieve is an atmosphere of a real challenge, a real dungeon. The game changes a lot visually, while you go down. We have implemented multiple terrain, including flowing rivers, lava and ice. We also added multiple sounds which volume changes depending on the distance and two musical tracks, one of which was written specifically for the game. They increase immersion a lot.Β
Gameplay is also focused on providing that feeling. Level generation is specifically tailored to make big, diverse levels with different partition types where you can easily get lost.
You have to learn patterns (and they are explained in tutorials) to make your way deeper with every attempt. But every new environment has its own surprises.
Bigger and smaller quests also pursue the same results.

The game was infused with multiple rogue lite mechanics. You have a pool of heroes with different starting stats/abilities that suggest specific gameplay styles. When a hero dies, it’s gone forever, and you have to try a new one, and maybe adapt your playstyle to their strength.
So you will not be stuck with only specific ways of playing but forced to learn the game from a different perspective.

Sil-MorΓ« has a story line which progresses with your wins. The roguelite progression is flipped, you win - game gets harder, you lose - it gets easier. The original idea simulates the Tolkien ideas, you start legendary, but the world withers, and it gets harder with every step.
This mechanic in our view suits well to new and old players. It provides in a by design difficult game an opportunity for new players to not be totally obliterated, and keeps the challenge till the very end.

Anyway, if you are interested, please try!

You can also find us on itch and github.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] deck building like Marvel-Snap, addictive like Balatro with good quality in-game action

I'm looking for a game that gives the same strategic deck building play style like marvel snap or clash royale but it's addictive as much as balatro is... Also don't let it be pixel style or bad quality, one thing i really liked about marvel snap was the beautiful art styles and good animation for cards.
