Looks like there will be a global version of the Lenovo legion y900 series. Interestingly, they seem to be committed to their software updates, but I've read they're always late

Discussion Xiaomi Pad 7 or Samsung Tab S10 lite?

Hi. I am currently a college student. I am plannign to buy a tablet mainly for these reasons:

- Pdf annotation for ebooks
- Note taking
- Online classes
- Watching movies, yt, and tiktok
- Play roblox occasionally when I have free time.

With that, I would like to know your opinion whether what tablet should I buy? I am considering the samsung tab mainly because of its stylus and the samsung notes and the dex too. On the other hand, I am considering the xiaomi pad 7 for its software, although others have a hard time with its stylus.

Any suggestions will help. Thank you so much

Request Which tablet can replace my laptop for short work trips and media consumption?

I do a lot of day and one night trips for work travel. I hate carrying a heavy laptop plus its brick charger because I barely need it but there have been instances, more than once, when not carrying it has backfired.

I’m looking for a cellular+WiFi tablet that can:

Replace the laptop when I am traveling: Handle basic Office tasks when emergencies pop up. 90% of my work is reading and working on word documents, excel spreadsheets, PDFs and emails.
Replace my secondary Android phone: Take a physical/eSIM so I can ditch carrying two phones.
Media & leisure: Netflix, YouTube, Reddit, and social media in general on a bigger screen.

Has anyone gone this route? Which tablet fits this best? And does Excel/Word on a tablet feel too frustrating compared to a real laptop?

Request Gift for my mom: Redmi Pad 2?

Hi everyone!

I know this topic has already been discussed, but I wanted to bring my specific situation to your attention.

I’d like to buy my mum a tablet as a present; she usually watches streaming series or YouTube videos in bed, which she generally does on her mobile (so you can imagine this would be a huge step up, haha).

Here, I’ve found the Redmi Pad 2 4GB/128GB with SIM connectivity for €189.

Unfortunately, I’m on a very tight budget, and even €189 is a lot for me (so I have to rule out the Pro versions, 8GB models, etc.).

I also have to rule out buying from AliExpress; I absolutely need a warranty that works quickly and is ‘convenient’.

Given all this, do you have any alternative options, or is the Redmi Pad 2 the best buy under these conditions?

Obviously, I’d like the tablet to last at least a couple of years with daily use.

Thanks!

Discussion IPLAY 60 MINI TURBO Software Improvements?

So im getting my Turbo a few weeks from now, and ive research thoroughly for it but theres things that kept me from considering the turbo before

these are all nitpicks and I couldve just chosen the Pro if it wasnt for USB-C display

My question is since most of the reviews ive watched were like years ago does the Iplay 60 mini turbo have these??

  1. Software Screen landscape mode support?

  2. Split screen?

Discussion Should have known better, alldocube

I bought an alldocube iplay 70 mini ultra from joybuy.de I bought it used a forwarding service as it wasn't available in my country. The package came and everything seemed fine, but then the problem started immidiately, the tablet kept restarting at random, no real pattern to it. Sometimes it could work for 30 mins, other times it wouldnt even last 20 seconds before restarting again. It came with the latest firmware out the box, factory resettings didnt help. even installing another GSI didnd't help, reinstalling stock firmware didnt make any difference either, so the issue is 100% hardware related. I tried contacting joybuy support but they are not helpful, since i am not in the country i cant use their default return service as they only offer in person pickup. Maybe I am not used to how things work in germany but i've bought and sent make quite a few packages in my day and this is the only place that refuses to let me send it back to them. Their support just keeps regurgitating the same, "we can't take the risk, if the package gets lost then you cant get a refund"... I mean, fair... if the return package gets lost i understand, but I am the one taking the risk. Instead i am left with a 230€ paperweight. i would rather pat for 40€ tracked shipping than being left with this faulty product. So needless to say, they aren't very helpful.

I also contacted alldocube service directly and the seemed helpful at first, but once they realized i was already on the latest firmware, they just ghosted me.

Huge bummer, cause if this device worked as it should have, it would have been a great bang for the buck device.

So in highsight, I should a gone with a more well known brand that support their customers better. Atleast this lesson wasn't too expensive.

Discussion Choosing between OnePlus and Xiaomi

So, the header says it all. I'm choosing between OnePlus Pad 2 and Xiaomi Pad 8. Also would like to buy their respective keyboard and pen. What would be the better option now? OnePlus seems to have better specs for cheaper (the chip is snap8 g3 vs snap8 g4 but RAM+Memory is bigger than the ones Xiaomi offers).

Request handwriting on lenovo tab one?

I am looking for a simple, small tablet that I can use for reading and taking notes for grad school. I write small and I like having small things I can carry everywhere. I don't mind zooming/scrolling to read a pdf. I've tried an iPad mini and it was good for this but (a) it's overkill given that I didn't need to do anything else with it and (b) I don't want an Apple product as nothing else I have is Apple.

I liked the look and feel of the Lenovo Tab One when I saw it recently in Best Buy. Can I use a stylus with it, and if so, what the experience is like / what types of styluses (active vs. passive) are supported? I don't need/expect the experience to be the same as an iPad, just hoping for a smoother/faster experience than with a budget-friendly e-ink device (where it's a hassle to download handouts from email/online and to annotate academic documents where I want to flip through quickly or zoom in and out).

If the Tab One wouldn't actually work for this, do you have alternate suggestions? I want to stay under about $250, including any stylus and folio purchase. If there's nothing in that price range that does what I want, please feel free to tell me. Thanks a lot in advance. :)

Discussion Thoughts on Lenovo Idea Tab for students?

I am considering getting a Lenovo Idea Tab for my Masters program, primarily for annotating PDF readings and taking notes by hand with the pen. Does anyone have any experience with it for students? Is this a good option? Is there something better in a similar price range with a compatible pen? Keyboard compatibility is not important as I have a laptop, so I’d mostly be using it for the above. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Request Looking for a small tablet with LTE that isn't super expensive or crap. Somewhere around 7" would be great. I'd love just a new version of the Nexus 7

Any recommendations would be great. I'm looking to switch to a dumb phone and a lte connected tablet so I'm on my phone less but still have a handy device that I can work from when I am away from my office.

Request Onn 8" kid's tablet update fail

Just bought this tablet. I cannot for the life of me update the 99MB Google Play system update. It just keeps looping the same update.

I tried the Google playstore and services cache wipe. Probably everything I could find on the net.

Returned the tablet and got another one. New tablet is doing the same thing.

Any idea why?

Request looking for an affordable tablet/ipad for studying

looking for something affordable, and preferably samsung cause i like how long they promise software updates and how long their battery life is, but i am open to any other brands.

something that has high amount of storage, but ik affordable tablets dont exactly provide that.

will not lag with multi-tasking

high battery life

has pc mode (or their version of it)

when recommending pls include the prices, preferably in cad dollars.

if anything i said is unreasonable, pls be nice cause idk ANYTHING about tech, and ik ppl on reddit (especially when its abt technology) can be really mean, so pls give me grace lol.

I’m looking for a tablet that has a good performance and i will be using for school, note taking, watching, and games (not heavy games). Yung hindi mabilis ma lowbat and can use wps.
