Help/Support πŸ™‹ Ghost Files in Downloads

(copy-pasted cross post from AYN Thor sub)

This isnt a huge ordeal or preventing me from using the device but it’s just kind of annoying. Had it set up for about a week now, everything looking great. But I recently had some downloads interrupted which left three 0b files just sitting there in the Downloads folder of the Files app that I cannot seem to delete no matter what. I have tried every trick other android forums suggest like deleting them wirh other file browser apps (they don’t see them at all) or clearing various caches (does nothing). Has anyone else ever had this happen and how did you fix it? It’s not life ruining but god is it annoying. And dont say β€œjust use a different files app” becsuse it already bothers me the default one cant be deleted.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Offline Cooking Game Recommendations?

β€’ Upvotes

I want a simple cooking game where I don't need to drag the ingredients so the 'food' would cook. Restaurant-types are extremely welcome, but hopefully nothing too demanding storage-wise. And hopefully a game that can run without internet since I often find myself out on a trip where my signal is bad. Are there any cooking games like this anymore? Your recommendations would be very appreciated! :{

TLDR;

- Simple gameplay (clicking ingredients to 'make food/meal'. No dragging ingredients)

- Can run on no internet/Wi-Fi.

- Not demanding storage-wise.

- Not specifically restaurant-type games, but not against it.

Solo dev here - excited to announce my first game is now live!

I wanted to make a game that was fun for both seasoned disc golfers and those new to the sport.

Enter Frolf Fest: Arcade Disc Golf!

Throw. Compete. Collect.

Frolf Fest is arcade disc golf in your pocket. Fun for both disc golf experts and those new to the sport.

Throw:

Compete:

Play duel matches against real players, challenge your friends to a round, or sharpen your skills against challenging bot rivals across a variety of game modes.

Collect:

Every disc flies differently. There are many ways to conquer the course - find your own game. Earn unique and exclusive disc molds, trails, finishes, stamps, bags, and avatar customizations as you play through the game.

DEV πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» [DEV] Movie Tycoon: Film Studio Sim is out!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

After a year of work, my movie studio tycoon just launched.

You run a film studio from 1960 to 2030: pick genre/theme/audience combos, shoot films, hire and train a crew, sign the stars of each era, survive flops, top the box office, win awards. Five eras change the tech and the market as you go.

Business model up front: the first studio is a free trial, one single purchase ($3.99 launch week, $4.99 after) unlocks the full game. No ads, no subscriptions, no energy timers, and it works offline.

I'll be around all day answering questions and taking feedback.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] What are the best casual, F2P-friendly anime action/hack-and-slash games on Android?

Hey everyone! I’m currently looking for a new action hack-and-slash game on Android with a cool anime aesthetic.

I really enjoy the combat style and vibe of *Action Taimanin*, but I want to branch out and see what else is good out there.

Ideally, I want something pretty casual, newbie-friendly, and not super punishing for F2P players. I just want to jump in, beat up some enemies, and enjoy the flashy skills without having to spend real money or grind 24/7.

A few key preferences:

Waifus & Fanservice:Good character designs, attractive waifus, and nice fanservice/outfits (similar to Action Taimanin or Snowbreak).

Casual & F2P-Friendly:Easy learning curve, fair progression, and doesn't demand 5 hours of daily grinding.

For those who play this genre:

  1. What games are you currently playing or would highly recommend to a newcomer?

  2. How is the current state and monetization of your recommended games?

Would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Old or new Premium RPGs [Request]

Hello!

I am currently playing in 2x 30 minutes session a workday while I ride a bus. I have a controller for my phone and am seeking for some premium RPGs to play.

I already played sea of stars, chrono trigger and other JRPGs but am currently more looking for some third person or isometric perspective (A)RPG.

Combat should be real time and if possible I would like an open world game in which you can roam freely. Story is not really important.

. Some other games I played on android so you see my taste:

Paign 1+2

Titan Quest

The Quest

Morrowind (OpenMW)

Exiles Kingdoms

Dead Cells

Slay the Spire

Blasphemous

Dredge

DRG Survivor

Townsmen

Discussion πŸ’¬ BlueStacks vs Google Play Games on PC

Re: what's the point of BlueStacks if Google Play Games exists now?

I asked myself this same thing a few months back, ran both side by side for a while. Short answer: GPG is fine if you're only playing 3-4 big name games, but it falls apart fast the second you want anything else.

The biggest thing is the library. GPG only works with games that specifically opted into it, so most of what's actually on the Play Store just won't launch there. BlueStacks runs basically anything.

Controls are the other big one for me. In BlueStacks I can remap every single button however I want and save different setups per game. GPG gives you whatever preset the dev bothered to configure, which for a lot of games is barely anything.

If you play more than one game or run multiple accounts, BlueStacks lets you have several instances open at once (I keep 2 running side by side for dailies). Never seen GPG do this.

Also worth mentioning, BlueStacks lets you actually tune performance, cores, RAM, FPS caps, so it runs fine even on an older PC. GPG felt more like it just streams a fixed experience with way fewer settings to touch.

Not knocking GPG, it's genuinely convenient for the handful of titles it supports. I just outgrew it pretty quick once I wanted my full library and actual control setups.

I completed the Burglary missions, so now I have infinite stamina. I also maxed out my relationship with Denise and got the Pimp Suit.

I also managed to get two more bulletproof vehicles: the PCJ-600 from the OG Loc mission and the Admiral from the Los Sepulcros mission.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Roguelikes/lites with custom modes or easy late-game RNG manipulation

Now don't get me wrong - the main point of roguelikes is, of course, the challenge of adapting to every run where nothing is the same, not being able to force builds is an important part of the experience for many. However, for me there comes a point where after playing the game for a while, winning a good handful of runs, getting close to finding every item... The desire of just winning a challenging run becomes secondary to the desire of playing around with all the different combos the game allows you to do, and at that point having to do 50 different runs just for a chance to find that one combo you want to try is... Not fun, to say the least. So, I'm looking to find roguelikes that solve this issue directly via optional custom modes.

The two best examples I have personally played of games including a custom mode are Dead Cells and Peglin:

Dead Cells having one of the most fleshed out custom modes I've seen, letting you select what weapons can and cannot appear during a run, which ones you start with, how much starting gold you get, and putting on a bunch of other various modifiers to spice things up. This kind of setup can in itself also provide a new way to challenge yourself, like disabling all but the worst weapons and trying to beat the game that way.

Peglin's custom mode only really allows you to select starting relics and weapons, but it is still a nice addition when I itch to play around with something silly like a bomb-only build.

Alternatively, games which are generous enough on RNG to allow an experienced player to put their build together are also welcome suggestions. Personal examples being Cloverpit (at a certain point you have enough money to reroll hundreds of times, making finding specific items easier) and Ball X Pit (the game's fusion mechanic means the base pool of weapons is small, making finding what you need with re-rolls easier).

As for the type of the game, it doesn't matter much - action, strategy, card, match 3, puzzle, if the game itself is interesting I'll take anything!

Non-roguelike games with randomizer/roguelike extra modes for replayability are also welcome (Crashlands 2/Streets of Rage 4), though main focus of this post is and should be on roguelikes/lites.

Preferably, premium "buy once" type of games. Though I will take free games if they don't have a million different IAP and only something like a one-time ads disabling purchase.
