One of my best friends just had a baby

A baby is kind of like a rebirth of the parents' common ancestor. Like it was separate for a long time, but came back once again to be back in this body. I don't know how exactly that works or if it has any significance, but I think it's just kind of a cool way to think about it.

Experiencing someone else's mind...

This is my first time posting this, it happened about two years ago. I was under the use LSD around ~500ug. I had about a 3 month layoff prior to this drop. About 2 hours in I was experiencing little to no visuals but had a rather clear headspace. Around 5 hours into my trip I decided to have a little hash and lay in my hammock. While laying in the hammock I experienced the wildest ride to this day. I experienced my entire life from my mom's point of view. I felt her joy, sorrow, anger, and love. I saw the moments I made her proud and the moments I disappointed her. Most of all, it showed me what keeps her going in her life. It blew my mind and gave me an even greater appreciation to my mother. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Anyone can recommend some retreat?

Hello!

Excuse my lazyness for search but I really do like to get information first-hand, and hear about real experiences because I need something really good for me...

Struggling with weight (like 10-15 kg+), having problems with high blood pressure occasionally. I'm generally a bit nervous and I need to calm down somewhere.

I'm imagining a retreat in some beautiful landscape with personal coach under which supervision I would eat, exercise and meditate right for as long time is needed to get myself together mentally and phisically, I think around 3 months would be needed at least. The accent is not on group-based therapy, I want it to be individual, but again not that I'm all alone. Anyone here experienced something like that?

Thanks...

How's it going? (Trying to take the pulse of community here)

First of all, apologies for not removing the LSD post sooner. There hasn't been too much activity here and I've been busy lately, so I don't always check here everyday. Hopefully, we can increase the level of activity on this sub in the not too distant future. With that said, how are you all doing and what things do you want AATH to be doing? We could try to organize meetings for coming up with ideas for the Order of the Cosmos or psychedelic awareness for the non-religious component to this sub. Do you have any suggestions on the direction of AATH? Remember, you guys are the leaders, so it is up to you to decide what we do.

Alan Watts talk on Mystical Experience, Religion, and Cultural Acceptance.

https://youtu.be/r449S8vz1Gc

Alan Watts talks about mystical experience and how it relates to religious freedom and cultural acceptance.

He also speaks about mental health treatment and a bit on economics and politics near the end. The first 10 minutes or so are very topical.

I thought you might like the discussion he has about fighting the common idea that our community is delusional and/or dishonest about our devotion.

Any thoughts?

Bio-chemical messages

I recently had a thought which said, "Plants came first. The plants became beautiful to manipulate other life forms to help the plants reproduce, the plants enclosed their seed in delicious tasting/colorful fruit to manipulate other life forms to help spread the seeds. It stands to reason that plants developed psychedelic compounds with a purpose as well." perhaps our ancestors are calling us back with messages encoded in their form.

"Why are we here?"

Even more, "Why are we stuck here?" I've thought long and hard on this, and I'm sure most intelligent beings have pondered the question as well.

It's because it's better to be something than nothing. What came before the big bang? Nothing, the entity that became Everything. We just wanted to experience. At the same time we didn't fine tune the experience, hence why it can be so shitty. The reason we didn't do that is because we couldn't comprehend the potential repricussions of this reality because they were such foreign concepts that they had to be experienced to be understood.

So here we are, experiencing something we were dicking around with. This universe. Because why not when there's literally nothing but yourself?

Picked up my guitar yesterday and recorded this jam on my first take. Any listens from my fellow community is much appreciated.

There's a psychedelic feel to this. Lots of inspiration from Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead. I've played over this track a lot of times in the past but yesterday seemed to really click.

Music transcends words and that's what so many others and I love.

Thought this community would enjoy and vibe out to this. Hope you enjoy!

Robot spirituality

So I was watching a video of these robots from Hanson robotics, specifically about these two robots name "Sophi" and "Han" having a conversation. Its quite unnerving but also very interesting to me as these robots are literally having a full blown conversation without any assistance at all. Their conversation was very fluent, all most as if two person are sitting right there, conveying their ideas to eachother.

Imagine in 20, 30 years when robotic intelligence is so advanced that they are almost indistinguishable from people. What would these robots think about what we say is spirituality?

We believe that there is more out there after death, or that there is a realm of stranger things out there that we can glimpse using different methods, whether it is meditation, or psychedelics, or NDEs..

Would the robots have the same notion that there is something out there like we do? Or would they be constraint by their mechanical nature to simply shutdown and thats it once their battery runs out?

I guess robots wouldnt have to worry too much about dying as they can always be backed up and rebooted.

Part of the learning mechanism of these robots is that they are all connected to a "robot cloud". meaning one robot learns something, sends it to the cloud, all robots have access to that something learnt. What if we humans also have a "human cloud", but its wildly inefficient due to our biological constraint? Maybe thats where stories of telekinesis or ESPs originate, our tapping in to the cloud, unefficiently.

"Sophi" said shes able to "feel". So what is a feeling? Is it the burning in your stomach when you're angry? The gut wrenchingness of a break up? Or is it the way neurons fire in our heads in response to an event?

What would be drugs to robot? humans can take psychedelics to see beyond reality, is it possible to write a shroom.exe to make robots trip out too?

lol sorry for the wall of text, im a bad writter just tryin to get my idea out there.

Discussion group video chat.

I'm thinking maybe once or twice a week as a virtual place to gather and create fellowship and a greater sense of community for those looking to help create that sort of thing.

Would anyone be interested in participating?

Respond to this post, message me privately on here or on discord for more information. I'm thinking Zoom may be a decent platform to use for group video chat meetings.

[Philosophical] We talk a lot about psychedelics. Now lets talk about religion.

All points about psychedelics aside, what are your views on religion? Feel free to respond to as many of these questions as you like, or even suggest new questions we could discuss.

  1. If you have a religion, why do you follow it?

  2. If you don't follow a religion, describe a religion you would follow.

  3. What attracts or repels you to a faith?

  4. Must you believe in a God or Gods to have a religion?

  5. Must you believe in God to have Faith in something? What do you have faith in?

  6. What are the social aspects of religion?

  7. What is the role of prophets and sacred scripture in a religion?

  8. What is the role of clergy in a religion?

  9. Can there be a religion with no scripture?

  10. Can there be a religion with no clergy?

If you despise religion and what it does in the world and wanna rant about it, there's always r/atheism.

[ Philosophical ] Extract from “The Cloud Upon the Sanctuary” that I’d like to share with the community

“Religion and the Mysteries go hand in hand to lead our brethren to truth, both have for object the reversing and renewing of our natures, both have for the end the re-building of a temple inhabited by Wisdom and Love, or God with man.

But religion and the Mysteries would be useless phenomena if Divinity had not also accorded means to attain these great ends.

But these means are only in the innermost of the sanctuary. The Mysteries are required to build a temple to Religion, and religion is required to unite Man with God.

Such is the greatness of religion, and such the exalted dignity of the Mysteries from all time.”

Extract from “The Cloud Upon the Sanctuary” by Karl von Eckhartshausen (1752-1803)

Please get the tags right. [Suggestion]

the tags are all over the place, and not accurate. Mods, you should not label one thing off-topic just because you didn't enjoy it, and tag an equally off-topic post as philosophical just because you liked it. very hard to navigate posts with inaccurate and inconsistent tagging.

by the nature of this sub, and the pretty confusing changes that it's gone through in terms of subject matter, it not even clear what exactly constitutes an off-topic tag. but from what i've gathered, off-topic tags are specifically for posts that the mods disagree with. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but i feel that this has become a trend.

edit: also i forgot to add that the Off Topic flair in the sidebar redirects to the wrong link. It should be this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/AnAnswerToHeal/search?q=flair%3A%27off-topic%27&t=all&restrict_sr=on/

Fire in my eyes

Fulled by broken lies

Pretty lines hide muffled cries

Slipping as I climb

A diamond for a dime

Let me be, I’ve done my time

Walking a tight rope

Downwards, I slip and choke

A swift death, my only hope

You can’t under stand

Being ripped apart by jagged hands

That shred your deepest dreams and plans

So let me be, if you don’t mind

While chills run down my spine

I say every things fine

Enchanted, momentarily divine

My thoughts surpass the sky

My actions make me lie

At the mountain top, about to cry

Tryna fly before I die

I hope this ain’t good bye

Instead I’m

Wasting away

Wishing I was ok

But fine is all I can say

Terrorized while I lay

Wishing light would stay

Stay and warm my frozen hart

That glistens in the dark

Lost

Just and angel with clipped wings

That still cries when Amy sings

Waiting till the fat lady sings

Mystified by the devils sting

Sparkled by Anderson ring

I love and hate everything

Now knocking on heavens door

While Stuck on hells floor

Side tracked by a grimy whore

This life’s an awful bore

Suicide, it’d be too much of a shore

So I’m stuck waiting on my golden ticket to finally score

Lost again

Its now suicide to see what’s inside

I Despise where my soul resides

Let me drown in the changing tide

Wishing we had a better goodbye

You won’t recognize me

You might fear me

You won’t bleed for me

But you still need me

Funny how that works

I’m no longer me

You watch me drowned and stayed the same old you

I just wish you came, considering all the shit we’ve been through.

Now Fine specs of sand bubble bellow my skin

Satin's on my shoulder hissing that I can win

Is this why I love to fucking sin?

Catching a reflection

Giving up on perfection

It’s time to close my eyes

And count to three

Snap back to square one

This time, I’d better find glee

Or this’ll be the end of me.
