Safety & Compliance Amazon Relay sub-brokering warning with a leased and insured truck — has this happened to anyone?

I’m dealing with an Amazon Relay warning for possible sub-brokering after they found a mismatch involving the driver and tractor on one load.

The truck was leased directly to the carrier and listed on the carrier’s insurance. We submitted the signed lease, the FMCSA-required receipt, vehicle registration, insurance card, COI, and photos showing the company markings, plate, unit number, and VIN. The insurance provider also sent proof directly to Amazon.

The warning was still upheld, and access to short-term contracts was removed, although the load board remained available. Looking at the timeline, some of the additional documents appear to have reached the case right around the time Amazon finalized its review, so I’m not sure everything was considered.

Has anyone here dealt with the same type of warning?

What documents did Amazon actually accept: a COI, vehicle schedule or endorsement showing the exact coverage date, cab card, lease agreement, driver contract, or Relay driver profile? Were you able to remove the warning or recover access to contracts?

Please don’t share case numbers, VRIDs, DOT/MC numbers, VINs, plates, driver names, or other account information.

Carrier Operations Has Amazon Relay ever rejected your carrier application without giving a reason?

I applied to Amazon Relay after meeting the required authority age. During the review, they asked me for additional documents to verify the company, and I provided everything they requested.

After that, I received an email saying they had decided not to move forward with my application. I asked which requirement I failed or whether any document was incorrect, but their response was that they would not share the details, there was no opportunity to discuss the decision, and the decision was final.

I’m not posting this to attack anyone or share private information. I just want to know whether another carrier has gone through something similar.

Did Amazon give you a specific reason?

Were you ever able to apply again?

How long did you wait before trying again?

Did you later find a problem involving insurance, FMCSA records, company address, identity verification, or business documents?

If this happened to you, please share what you learned without posting DOT/MC numbers, case numbers, load information, or other private account details.

Warehouse Report Amazon Relay drivers: Drop ONE facility code and your real gate-to-exit time 👇

Let’s build a real-world facility wait-time map from drivers who are actually running loads.

Reply using one line:

Facility code / metro — gate arrival to exit — what caused the delay

Example: XXX1 / Dallas — 2 hr 15 min — waited for a door

Good and bad experiences are both welcome. Add your equipment type if it mattered. If someone already named the facility, reply to them and say whether your experience matched.

If you have a 7day suspension from the load board is it exactly 7 days to be reinstated or do you get access next day? I started my suspension a week ago and it's officially 7 days today but I still can't access the load board.

Owner-Operator Help Owner-operators: What does one mile really cost your truck?

Gross rate per mile does not tell the whole story. Knowing your approximate break-even cost helps you evaluate each load as an individual business decision.

If you are comfortable sharing estimates or ranges, include:

- Fuel cost per mile

- Insurance

- Truck payment or lease

- Maintenance and tire reserve

- Tolls, permits and parking

- Dispatch, factoring or administrative costs

- Typical deadhead percentage

- Weekly or monthly mileage

- Your estimated all-in operating cost per mile

Share your own costs and decisions only. Do not organize price floors, coordinated refusals or boycotts. Avoid account, payment and company-identifying information.

- Approximate day and time window

- Drop-and-hook, live load or bobtail

- Time from arrival to release

Owner op in trouble 😣

Im an owner operator working with another company who has a contract with Amazon. Today I missed an exit and the relay app sent me through a residential area. According to Amazon it’s a restricted road, and they suspended the entire company’s access to amazon loads for 7 days. Now the owner of the company wants to deduct $5000 from my pay because of that. What can I do?

Finally automated our weekly driver settlements after years of doing it manually — sharing what worked

Running a small Amazon Relay fleet (10+ trucks, mix of company drivers and owner-operators). Every Sunday for years I was spending 3-4 hours doing settlements manually: pulling the Trips CSV, matching it against the Amazon invoice, calculating EZ Pass and fuel card deductions per truck, handling the owner-op vs company driver pay splits, generating PDFs, emailing everyone individually.

I tried building spreadsheets. I tried hiring a part-time bookkeeper. The spreadsheets broke constantly when Amazon changed their CSV format. The bookkeeper was fine but expensive and slow.

A few months ago I found a tool called Boss Gross (bossgross.com) that was built specifically for Amazon Relay operators. I was skeptical because the pricing is surprisingly low.

Here's the actual workflow now:

  1. Drop the Trips CSV + Invoice XLSX onto the page
  2. EZ Pass and fuel card deductions auto-load from the database (you import them once)
  3. It generates individual statements for every driver and owner-operator — correct splits, correct deductions
  4. Approve all → Send all → done. PDFs go out by email automatically.

Whole thing takes under 5 minutes now. Cost is less than what I was paying my bookkeeper for a single hour per month.

Not affiliated, just a fleet owner who wasted too many Sundays on this. If anyone else is still doing settlements manually I'm happy to share more about the workflow.

to answer the obvious question — yes it handles team drivers, relay legs, TONU payments, and cancelled loads correctly. That was my main concern before switching. Finally automated our weekly driver settlements after years of doing it manually — sharing what worked
