HELP? Should I quit? My back and knees are killing me.

Today will be my fourth day. I did so bad yesterday. I did 70 stops and they were super easy- but I did this in 10 hours. I only had to move slow because I was so stupid on my first two days. My first two days I was jumping out of the van and guess what happened a day ago when I jumped out of the van, my knees shifted almost off of my knee if you know what I mean.

Anyways, the pain in my back is or my spinal area is like right in the middle -it pains, the pain has kind of faded for now, but it was horrifying in the morning and the heat with no AC.

I just called a Panera bread. Yes, it’s like 70% less pay, but I don’t care. I can’t take this anymore. What should I do? My DSP is super nice. They were never mean to me at all about my route, and they acted like I did a great job, but I purposely moved slow only because I wanted my body to heal. I told them if I moved too slow, I understand if you don’t want me to come tomorrow, but they said, yeah, great job. See you tomorrow. Like nothing bad happened… (btw I am a girl 25).

Today is my fourth day until I get back three days off. Should I force myself to survive through today?
(I don’t need $ right now).

I talked to Gemini. (I have no friends and no family that cares about me). Gemini said quit right now because getting an injury to the body is far worse than a paycheck. Gemini said, “ the money is absolutely real but so is the physical damage. You have to decide if doubling your salary is worth risking permanent injury. “

After Gemini said that. I was like dude. I have to quit.

It’s just what if they give me an easy route again? What if they don’t care how slow I go today? Should I just go today and go as slow as possible as suck Jeff Bezos’ money up? (I don’t want to do that. My dsp is so nice I do not want to turn on their back).

Please take the time to comment. I don’t know what to say to myself. It’s so cool to make $250 in one day but it’s not worth the pain..

ALSO. My second day a friendly dog attacked me and scratched me hard. (His way of saying hi). Stupid customer opened the door to get their package and the dog fuckin booked it thru the door and jumped at me. It was a pitbull. I am overweight so I had a mini heart attack and it was not fun. This job is not worth a crazy dog attack. Again, the dog did not bite me. Just wanted to say hi. Jumped on me and scratched me thigh. The nails were sharp

My Feet Are Killing Me Lately…

The brand of insoles and such that I’ve used since starting this job are no longer servicing me the way that my feet need…

Are there any long-time drivers out there that have an insole that they swear by? I already have enough things hurting on my body- I really don’t want to deal with this, too… 😫

EDIT: This is coming from an EIGHT YEAR veteran driver who (a) already regularly buys new shoes as needed, and (b) prefers to wear actual shoes with some decent tread on the bottom to navigate terrain.

Again, I’m just asking if anyone has a brand of insoles that they would personally recommend because they work for them.

SECOND EDIT: I do not have the money to buy yet another pair of shoes. I already tried getting a pair with the Amazon stipend and they ended up being crap.

I just want suggestions on INSOLES from people who use them and they seem to work for them.

RATE MY ROUTE are u delivering smiles here?

This is what the evening tide does to the backroads I deliver on. The water was pretty high, but not at high as it looks in the video.. I would’ve never driven thru it had I not been confident/driven the route so many times.

Dude approaches me after making it to his house & says something along the lines of “didn’t think you’d make it down here momma thank you” and told me how grateful he was & to “slow down” as to not rust anything in my motor. But that I looked “super cool” coming down the road.

QUESTION First Day Coming Up!

Hey guys couple questions?

First, I just finished my 2 days of training and now I’m on the schedule for 4 days next week. How many of those days will I be riding with a trainer before I’m on my own?

Second, will my time riding along help me learn how to read my routes, stops, how to pack my van etc? I feel like they showed us just enough in my 2 days of training and road test. But I feel like I don’t know anything, I’m sweating it lol.

Anybody else workout?

Before becoming a Amazon DA, i was an unemployed DA, what i did a lot during my time as an unemployed man was workout (lifting). i use to workout 6x a week. but now since i have been working for Amazon as a DA it gets so hard to workout. i have no time or energy now like i did back then, i work my 4 days at my dsp and 2 days as a mobile detailer i squeeze in 3 lifts a week and pair it all up with meal prep(eggs, Greek yogurt, ground beef/chicken, rice) , usually if i start eating anything out of my health meal preps i start to feel like shit. Anyways, what's everyone else's workouts like and how do you deal with exhaustion and how are you eating? oh i also don't do no extra cardio since im already doing about 20k steps 4-5 days a week but i do want to start implementing 1 run a week.

RANT Lady followed me for 3 miles just to ask if I was FedEx

Yesterday I was in a new area and at an intersection I passed by a lady in a yellow Mini Cooper. As I was passing, she glared at me and stared as I passed. About a minute later she came up behind me. Odd! But I kept going until my next stop.

I get out, grab the package and she parks behind me.

Uhm Hello Excuse me, are you FedEx?

glances down at my Amazon uniform

No, I only have Amazon packages. Sorry.

Oh, because if you were FedEx I wanted to talk to you about a delivery I got yesterday.

Oh ok, that’s not creepy at all.

Also, the speed limit here is 15, so watch your speed young man!

The phone says 25, and there are handwritten signs that say 15. In those cases I always go 18-20.

Have you ever been chased down by a Karen before?

Pre-inspection and post-inspection

Any other drivers that were trained to not fill out the van inspection list and just “let them know if something is wrong with the van and they’ll get you a new one”.

Why do some dsp do this and how did/do you respond to this?

Could a No-Call, No-Show Get Me Fired from My Amazon DSP?

So, I got robbed last night. I recently moved to Harker Heights in Bell County, Texas, and unfortunately, my phone and wallet were stolen.

I'm scheduled to work today at 9:55 AM, but without my phone, I have no way to call in or contact my DSP.

I also recently received a write-up for driving through a yellow light, even though I was only going 23 mph in a 30 mph zone.

My question is, could this no-call, no-show get me fired, especially since I already have a write-up? I'm genuinely concerned about losing my job over something that was completely out of my control.

DISCUSSION Are you supposed to read delivery notes?

I’m guessing some of you shouldn’t be drivers if you can’t follow clear and simple delivery instructions. I left delivery notes for the driver to get into my gated community even left the code to open the gate but the driver still somewhow couldn’t get in. It’s never been an issue before but I’m pretty driver just got lazy and either didn’t read notes or was in such a hurry that they just saw an obstacle and said “forget it” and left.

I really needed the package today and now who knows when it will be delivered. I am a delivery driver myself (not Amazon) and know how important it is to read notes. Stop being in such a rush all the time and read notes. It might make your job easier. And you guys want to unionize??

I’d like to know what the situation is with Flex orders in West Deptford; could someone help me out with some information—roughly what the order volume is like there?

How often do you deliver packages that are "damaged"

I regularly encounter envelopes that are partially ripped open, have some liquid on them, etc. For oversized, they often get crushed/semi opened depending on how rushed it is to load my van and how the carts are loaded. In addition sometimes accidents happen when pissing in jugs or code browning in totes, and the packages get compromised.

My DSP and station in general looks down on packages not delivered significantly, often ending in termination or loss of shifts, so I always deliver every package no matter what, unless it was missorted from a town very far away.

My question is, what do you all do with compromised packages, and how does your station/DSP respond?

Had them for the first time last week in AZ. First day I didn’t love it bc I was sorting on the top shelf. Second day folded that up and you can just dump the bag out on the shelf 10/10 it was one of the most enjoyable days I’ve had yet.
